Jamie W and I were just trying to avoid the heat, so here we were. It was past noon, and the live music didn't start until 1PM. The space felt like a vintage tavern with a lot of dark wood wainscoting panels. We ordered a couple of their signature cocktails. Jamie went with the $14 Strange Brew, a caffeine-fueled mix of Jameson cold brew whiskey, Bailey's, and iced coffee (Photo 8). I ordered the $14 Start Me Up, a tart version of a Pimm's Cup mixed with lemon juice, berries, and mint (Photo 9). Neither drink had the potency we were hoping to find. Mine was particularly watery, and frankly we weren't sure if the bartender was trying to encourage a second round from us. We did manage to feel peckish and ordered the $9 Deviled Eggs which they well overstuffed with mayo, Dijon, and curry powder (Photo 10). We got served just as a talented young girl took the stage with her guitar in front of only a handful of people (Photo 6). Good luck, sweetie. After getting through check-in there's a bar/lounge area. Then outside there's a patio lounge area with tables and a POOL. How cool! The view is bomb too. You can see the whole NYC skyline. It was a very chill night you don't need to be a guest at the hotel to enter and lounge which is great. I had a nice time and will go back on a night where there's an event happening.

It's perched on the 23rd floor of the Hilton in the Fashion District, leaning hard into a Hamptons beach theme (lifeguard chairs, swings built out of old wine barrels), with something close to a 360-degree view of the skyline. Our event ran over 300 people deep, and the bartenders were clearly buried. They were moving as fast as physically possible, but that's a serious volume of drink orders for however many hands were behind that bar. Saving grace: the pours were strong and generous (free pour, so no one was measuring too carefully), and the drinks themselves were genuinely good. After a nice stop and a secret garden in west Greenwich, I decided to use the points I had racked up and suggested a beverage at the Spaniard. It was agreed upon, in part as i suggested "they probably have a nice bathroom". Of which they did. It helped they had a nice house drink menu too. My gal found something she would like, and she did. After a fun drink off their menu I got a scotch. Old Putney 12 year. Actually the bartender came up and said they were out, would I want a 18 year or 20 year, something like that. it was a bit more money but it was he last beverage of the weekend trip so I got it. My Lourd it was good. If we had time I would have gotten an Oban they had, but we were off. But we will be back, maybe this year.
