I've used Einstein Plumbing more times than I can count, and at this point I'm starting to think they secretly teleport instead of drive. Every single time I call, they show up exactly when they say they will. Not "sometime between 8am and next Tuesday" like most trades actual, real, human punctuality. It's almost suspicious. Their communication is just as solid. You know what's happening, when it's happening, and what it's going to cost before anyone starts taking things apart. No mystery invoices, no "well we found something else" panic moments. Just clear, honest work from people who actually seem to care about doing it right. And let's talk about pricing. In a world where calling a plumber can feel like you just agreed to finance a small yacht, their pricing is refreshingly reasonable. You walk away thinking, "That was... fair?" Which is not a common emotion in home services. As for the negative reviews I genuinely don't get it. Either I've hit the customer service lottery multiple times, or some people expect a pipe repair to come with a foot massage and a handwritten thank-you note. Every experience I've had has been smooth, professional, and honestly kind of impressive. We reached out to Einstein Pros and within one hour they were able to schedule a time to send a tech to our home. Wyatt Johnson was able to replace our faucet within the hour. We had intermittent water pressure issues and they came out and could not find the problem. Please note that they did go out to the street to check where the water is turned on and off and found nothing and charged us $95 for the call. After talking with a neighbor they said that the city had been by installing new water meters while we were away for a few days and recommended we check to see that they turned the water back on when they were done. So we went to the street to check (same place the plumber had checked) and low and behold, it was turned only part of the way back on. As soon as we turned it all the way back on, the problem was fixed. It should have been clear as day to the plumber who came out. That was the first thing he checked. We called Einstein Plumbing and requested a refund of our $95 since he completely missed the obvious fix that even our neighbor, who is not a plumber, diagnosed. I thought it was a no brainer that they would refund us and would be tripping all over themselves to do so. But nope! They refused and said he still came out and we needed to pay. Crazy! I called Einstein to get a bid. Sean came an hour early when I wasn't ready for him, told me the price and wanted to schedule right away. I told him I wanted to see a written bid first. The office called and said they wanted to do the job the next day--for some reason, I agreed. They again came two hours early before I was ready for them. Some of the work we agreed upon was not done, other work was done without my knowledge or authorization. Sean wrote up the bid standing at my kitchen sink after the job was finished. The work seems satisfactory, but I need to call someone else to do the work they promised but did not do. I will not hire them again. Shotty job on installing furnace shotty job and installing plumbing 2017 I am not pleased with this company at all

I was quoted $139 over the phone for a plumber to come out and fix a clog. When he came, he was here less than 30 minutes, filled a bathtub with water to drain my toilet, pressured me to leave a review, then told me the charge was almost $400. This cost was quoted AFTER everything was done with NO Indication it would be more than $139. I tried for over a month to rectify this with the company - they (Alvin the manager as well as the front desk staff) admitted their mistake and apologized for it, however, have not reimbursed me the extra fees above and beyond the $139 I was originally quoted. Had I known the cost would be $400 for someone to spend less than 30 minutes in my home, I would've watched a video and figured out this trick myself I would've watched a YouTube video to figure this out myself and at the very least would have called other companies. I cannot get anyone to return my calls or text, this is a prime example of "bait and switch". Be careful when hiring this company. read more

Do not use this company, especially for HVAC. They installed two Hvac systems in our home and both were done wrong and ended up causing damage to the systems. They have cost us hundreds of dollars in repairs and the owner won't respond to my phone calls or take responsibility. They wired one system wrong causing the dampers to fail. When I called them back after we discovered the problem they claimed other HVAC companies were just trying to badmouth them. I literally watched the technician remove the wires that were in the wrong place as he described to me what had happened. The reason other companies had to come fix Einstein's mistakes is because when I call Einstein their HVAC guy is "out of the office for 6 weeks" and they refer me to someone else. Jan 26 - Had an appointment to get a new water heater installed. They canceled saying someone was sick. Jan 28 - Had an appointment again. They called saying that they got the wrong water heater sent to them. So, what they said before was a lie. They didn't even have it in yet. Jan 26 was strike 1. Jan 28 was strike 2. They finally came Feb 8 but pushed the time back. 2 men showed up at 2:46pm to do the job. They took out the old water heater and then moved the gas line so they could install the new one. It took 2 1/2 hrs. Jake & Denny had a difficult job but did it. The area around the water heater was left messy and there was also a mess of white leading out of the garage. We had to give them a credit card before anything was done so they could order the water heater. We were charged for the full price before anything was done and that credit card was paid in full the day before they did the work. We were asked for payment after the water heater was installed! Luckily, my husband had just come home from work and told them that he paid in full! Jake said the office was closed so he'd have to check that the next morning! Total rip off and didn't provide me an estimate in advance but lead me to believe it would be roughly $250-$275 to install a new toilet that I already had. I was charged over $550 for a 1hr install. I refused to pay that and when I complained they knocked the price down to $340. This was literally a single hour of work for them. I am furious. I got online to read reviews and certainly now understand why such goodness was and is written about this company. I have to single out the gentleman that we dealt pretty much exclusively with. Kenny. Kenny I cannot speak more complementary of him. He was top notch, a friendly guy, and I felt totally honest with me when giving me our quotes. His punctuality was so appreciated and his communication skills even better. We had this business install our tankless water heater with 5 year warranty on parts. When it began to malfunction 18 months later we called them for service and warranty coverage. They said they had to order parts and would contact the manufacturer about the warranty coverage. They subsequently came to install the parts and billed us almost $400. When I inquired about the warranty coverage they said I'd have to submit the bill to the manufacturer directly. When I attempted to do so the manufacturer explained that coverage requires that the repair people go through a prescribed diagnostic process with involvement of the manufacturer. Since this was not done, the warranty could not be honored. I called Einstein Pros and was offered an apology that their repairman had misled me. Beware! read more

I was quoted no more than $500. To reinstall my faucet, disposal and hot water tap! Ok sounds good but once the guy came to do the job he spent an hour writing up the price of the job, well I've already been quoted $500 to do this job and he said oh no it's going to be over $1300 to do this job! I'm like are you kidding me? Not acceptable so the guy called the owner got the price down to $500. Because that's is what I was quoted, and so I had the go forward with the job. Just 3 fixtures to do! Then the next we saw that the disposal wasn't hooked up right and there was an old broken pipe which were both leaking! Which my husband had to go to get new parts! Very disappointed with they way they bid out the job and find out differently later and how they charge for parts extremely expensive that you can buy at Home Depot for pennies! Set up a window, called at the end of window and said the plumber "was held up at another job." We were the earliest window. Rescheduled. An hour in, I called the company to see why we hadn't heard anything. Called many times, no answer. Left a message. 15 minutes before end of window, got a call asking if he could come at 7. Our heating and cooling system in our home was on its last legs so we called around and decided to have Einstein Pros handle the installation of new equipment. The quote was done quickly and professionally. Although it took time for the equipment to be delivered (supply chain issues, not Einstein's fault), the installation was done promptly once it was available. I was particularly impressed with their customer service to address a couple of issues we had with the old system and the gas fireplace while waiting for the new equipment to arrive. Einstein had people over a few times to address these small issues and didn't charge us for the service call. All in all, top-notch work. We will work with them in the future. read more

To say that I am irritated is an understatement. We have had Einstein come out to our house for several different reasons, working with an HVAC system that is only a couple of years old. I've always felt that I was being "sold to" rather than "repaired." But, based on high reviews, I went with their technicians recommendations. Fast forward 2 years, and we are out several thousands of dollars and haven't had consistent heat for weeks. I'm having to replace the whole unit and scrap the junk I already paid for. I am furious and would never use this group again. I wish there had been some honesty upfront, or even an, "I don't know the best way to fix the problem" rather than trying to sell me bandaid fixes that didn't really work anyway. Our plumber Thomas showed up 15 minutes early which is always awesome. I have a water heater that is only 2 years old, but had an element that already went out. I had diagnosed the issue myself and Thomas confirmed it was in fact that lower element that was bad. I called ahead of the appointment to give Einstein all the information about my water heater, just to be sure they would have the parts needed for the repair. Thomas had the parts necessary and our water heater was up and running in about 1 hour from the time he arrived. It took longer to drain the water heater than it did to diagnose and replace the elements. I would drain the water heater myself if I had to do this again. The worst part of this entire experience was the horrible tiered pricing system they use. They do not break it down by labor and parts.. They wanted to charge me almost $400 on the initial quote for a job that included: about 5 minutes of diagnosis, 20 minutes to drain water heater, and 10 minutes to unscrew two elements and screw back in the two new elements. About 35 minutes of actual "work" time, plus approximately 15 minutes additional that was discussion between myself and Thomas regarding pricing and diagnosis. I told Thomas I appreciate his time, but there is no way I'm paying almost $400 for that repair. I could almost get a new water heater for that price. He said he understood and would make a phone call. When Thomas returned he advised me that they could do the job for $257 which is called the "quick fix" plus the $35 trip fee for a total of $282. I had a $25 coupon for first service so the total would be $257. I'm glad I said "NO" to the first quote. Because my water heater was under limited warranty by Rheem, I am able to submit a warranty reimbursement for parts only. Since Einstein doesn't normally break down there pricing like that, I had to request that Thomas please provide something that would indicate the price of the parts so I could submit for reimbursement. Thomas was able to accommodate my request. Turns out the parts cost $44.64. So the labor was $212.36 of total cost, which doesn't include the $35 trip fee. One can safely assume that they are charging over $200 an hour for repairs. The national average for a plumber per hour is between $45 to $150 according to homeadvisor.com. I almost gave this review 3 stars because of the horrible pricing and initial quote, but Thomas was so professional and efficient, I gave it 4 stars. This type of pricing structure is designed to favor the business owner ONLY and not the consumer. It hides the labor cost, which I believe most would be shocked to see. As an informed consumer, I like to see the FULL picture of what I'm paying for. Only because I needed the parts price for reimbursement and would not be able to move forward with the service without it, did they provide anything close to a breakdown. In the end, it appears Einstein is on the very high end of plumber costs, but does perform quality work with very professional plumbers. I'm not sure I would use Einstein again, unless they change this horrible pricing structure. If I do use Einstein again, it will be because of Thomas and his service and I would be sure to request that he perform the work. This review is meant to inform others ahead time and to hopefully let Einstein know that this pricing is not a great idea in my opinion. Don't be afraid to show folks what exactly they are paying for. I think most will really appreciate the full breakdown. read more

Wow. The worst contractor experience I can remember. My hot water heater stopped working, so I called Einstein. Even before the repairman saw the unit, he began a hard sell on getting a new one. Well, fine, it's probably time to replace it even though it works fine. But he made absolutely zero effort at getting the existing water heater working. Zero. I later learned from Google that the likely problem was that the pilot light had gone out. It took me about a minute to light it and get the water heater working again. read more

Had Einstein do a inspection of a house I wanted to buy. Their plumber said there was one leak under the house. Said $600 to fix and the issue was done. I was out of state so I agreed. Paid $600. When I moved in I discovered the complete plumbing system under the house was blown out due to freezing. One leak? Hundreds of leaks. Cost me $6500 to re plumb with an competent plumber. Ask any plumber about Einstein and they will simply smile and shake their head. read more

Dumb-stein - We have been loyal to Einstein plumbing for four years and have had them out many times. I shrugged off when circulating hot water correctly took about five trips and multiple contractors and when we noticed an infrequent banging noise from our water heater, we asked them to take a look. Upon inspection and recreating the noise, they said it was sediment at the bottom of the tank and it needed to be cleaned. After it was cleaned, we did not have hot water and it took them over 24 hours to come fix their silly mistake and the banging noise persisted. After $400 spent, I had the same problem and was told that my water heater was warped and should be replaced soon because it is ready to fail. We decided to get another opinion and found a water valve was opening and shutting based upon pressure and gravity. The problem was fixed with a spring valve replacement that cost $69 total. Dumbstein cannot be true unfortunately, we have worked with too many of them. They are very nice people but unfortunately not good plumbers. read more

This company doesn't even deserve the one star rating. I bought a home in Bend, Oregon. Before moving in I had a small leak. Einstein came out because my homeowners policy referred them. Sooo, Einstein, told me it was a repipe and the bathroom would need to be re-plumbed. Ouch, not covered by insurance. We waited and looked at the plumbing problem ourselves since we lived out of town. The problem was simply a loose connection. Tightened it and problem solved, paid them $60 to come out . Round 2, moved in and smelt a faint gas smell. Called the gas company , they confirmed it and told me they would have to turn the gas off to the house. Insurance company sent Einstein out. My spouse called Einstein and explained to them that our gas was shut off and that it was important to get the leak fixed. They assured him the person coming out was qualified. He showed up at 5pm Friday , looked around, said he could come back Monday and left. No gas=no showers, he wouldn't pressurize the system or at least isolate the leak. Never again, no thanks, would never recommend . read more

We had a major leak under our kitchen sink , it started on a Saturday night at 9pm.. We were unable to stop the spewing water and started calling plumbers who offered 24/7 service. Einstein Plumbing answered their phone immediately and had a plumber to our house in 20 minutes. Travis immediately identified the problem and serviced the leak until further repairs could be made on Monday. We received a call first thing Monday morning and had another plumber out that day. Their attention to detail, customer service and pricing was immeasurable and we were very confident in their knowledge and expertise. He showed up on time and was great about going over the various product options available to us. He wasn't aggressive about selling us on the most expensive route to take. Einstein was totally awesome. Woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a steady trickle of water pouring out the front of the water heater. We turned off the water spigot and the leak eventually stopped but we needed pretty immediate support. Einstein had a nighttime answering service and I was on the phone with their staff before 8 a.m. The gal who helped set up service was incredibly polite and professional and managed to have someone over to us by 9:15 a.m. They sent us a text message that Frank was on the way with his photo and a biography that helped me get a sense for who was coming over. Frank was beyond great. While we waited for the remaining water to be drained from the tank through a hose, he actually took a look at my tub and fixed two gasket issues that had been causing minor but very irritating dripping. Above and beyond. To top it all off, he gave us an estimate for repair work that he said would be waived if it didn't do the trick and we needed a whole new unit. Our tile contractor arrange for them to reconnect our dishwasher and gas range. Told our contractor they would be there at 1:00. Showed up at 3:15. His task was to reconnect the gas line on the range and the waterline and drain line on a dishwasher. Took well under an hour. He Was unable to completely re-install the range because he didn't have a correct clamp for the blower. Their hourly rate was quoted at $165 an hour and we were charged $375 with no contractor discount offered. When I called and talk to a lady who answered the phone she was very defensive and then proceeded to tell me I was lucky that they didn't charge me more. I asked if their hourly rate was $165 an hour, why they charge $375 for less than an hours work. She tried to tell me that the $165 was just for his labor and the rest was for his expertise training and certification. I said are you telling me that's not included in your hourly rate? Our tile contractor had to come back the next day to finish installing our gas range. I definitely would not recommend Einstein pro to anyone. If you do use them, make sure you get a written quote first. read more

Wish I could recommend Einstein but in my case, they flunked miserably. After doing their initial assessment, instead of calling the manufacturer to get the correct part number, they only sourced 1/4 of the parts required to actually fix the situation. Thus, when their part came in, which took about a week, they were unable to install it because it didn't fit. Well, had they called the manufacturer, they would have been told that the part they ordered also required a hose and other parts. I ended up calling the manufacturer, got the correct part number, called Einstein to pass that to them but instead they just pieced another suitable hose which did not have the other parts required for the correct installation. Fast forward about three weeks, ten or more phone calls, and a whole lot of left messages for Travis, and my faucet is usable but not the way it is supposed to look or function. I guess Einstein thinks that half a job is good enough! Fast forward about four days and numerous emails with Jared, things have gotten even worse with this company. Jared initially wanted to do whatever it took to make things right and there best solution was for me to call the manufacturer, source the part number, buy the part and they would then "reimburse" me. If you call that customer service, then go ahead and use Einstein. They aren't interested in doing the research, sourcing the part, paying for the part and then installing it. Just do it yourself and you'll save yourself a headache. read more
