While waiting, I learned the owner has been running Figgy's for about 30 years. The restaurant has that classic local lunch spot feel, with regulars stopping in and a friendly, community atmosphere. In spite of how busy this spot was the day I visited, the orders were turning quickly and everybody in the store left happy. I tried the South Philly and today they had a tomato and cheese on focaccia, unbelievable how tasty the bread was and of course the sandwiches themselves. Going back next week to sample the Philly Cheesesteak the day it is offered. These guys are from Philly, I've got to see how true they stay to the sandwich of their hometown!
