I come here almost once a week I love the bagels and the staff is very good. The other day I was waiting for my bagels and the register shut down and after about three or four minutes the manager I'm guessing was there said this is gonna take longer and gave us our bagels for free and it was like a dozen +2 cream cheeses so that was like $20, free. I gave this place 2 tries before writing this review on the chance that I visited on an off day the first time. Unfortunately not. The place is absolutely filthy - tables, floors, bathroom. The staff is on their phones, even behind the counter and then makes the food with the same gloves they were touching their phones with. They messed up my order (literally just a bagel with spread), even though we were the only customer. And worst of all, made my daughter sick with diarrhea after our last visit. We will not be returning, and I suggest you do not risk your own health safety either. I love an Einstein bagel but this store is depressing. Broken equipment, dirty, unenthusiastic staff. Walked in as only customer. Four staff members. Two sitting on their phones. Couldn't find a clean table, dirty windows and doors. Staff wearing gloves but playing with hair and picking ear, touching phone and then back to service. It's like corporate has forgotten about this place! This could be a great place for HS/College students to work but no one can recruit their friends because it is so sad and low energy. The store is filthy. The staff do not have basic food handling knowledge. Cross-contamination is a major issue here. Food safety is not practiced if you watch them on the line making your food. There is a proper way to package bagels at Einsteins. If you were ordering savory bagels with everything or a cinnamon sugarcoated bagel, both should be packaged in a bag separately from contaminating the rest of the bagels in the box. - Basic human decency in customer service, AND actually in the training for Einsteins... It's a shame that this location and the Scottsdale location have been owned by the same person for 10+ years and he hasn't sold it yet or gotten an actual GM to properly run these stores. I ONLY buy bagels from these two locations. That usually still takes about 10 minutes and I was the only customer in the line... I will 90% of the time drive all the way to Desert Ridge because that store is corporately owned and ran up to Einsteins standards. Hope this helps. read more

How bad can service be?! It should be possible to give a zero star review!! My girlfriend and I went there for breakfast to go. I have a pork allergy and made sure to specifically order sandwich with turkey sausage. They put bacon on it, literally putting my life at risk. Also my girlfriend ordered an avocado bagel, which was so burned it was black. I called the store to let them know, and spoke with the manager, Sandy, about my order. She said they were really busy and short staffed, however when we were there there was only one other customer in the restaurant. I refrained from using profanity and spoke in a clear and direct voice. She said I could drive back for a refund (it's a 20 minute drive from my house) which I said to which she hung up on me!? I tried to call back and she refused to answer the phone. This place provides very poor quality food with even worse service. I will never go back l, and strongly recommend avoiding this location!!! There's a really good one on Scottsdale road, it's a bit of a drive, but if you want better service and food, it's worth it. read more

I checked Yelp after my visit to see if I happened to come by on an 'off' day - apparently not. I work in the service industry and I preach to my fellow workers how every aspect of a customer's experience is important. If you find a wart, you'll look for others. Case in point, after ordering a bagel and coffee, I fixed my drink, and came back to the counter to get my food. Both service people looked at me wondering what I was still doing there, and asked what else I needed. I stated "I was hoping I could eat the bagel in addition to paying for it..." I thought that was kind of funny, as did the couple behind me - the guys behind the counter - not so much. Ernie Einstein took my (not) funny inquiry like a bitch, and turned away without a word. I turned away for a moment to do some reconnaissance on the cream cheese selection when I noticed my order was swiftly being filled, but without the bagel being toasted - the HORROR! What sort of nihilist doesn't toast their bagel? Answer: the ones that find their bagels in the dumpster they slept next to - that's who! I asked politely if the bagel had been toasted. The directness of the server's tossing of this poor, innocent (un-toasted) bagel into the trash, saved me from receiving a verbal response. If it wasn't for this wart-covered experience, I probably wouldn't have noticed how filthy the counter tops - and especially the exit door - were. Why the exit door specifically? I'm going to speculate it's due to there being no soap in the broken soap dispenser in the bathroom. I'd estimate the last time the door had been cleaned it was leaving the factory floor. When this place reopened, we went in to grab breakfast. We were greeted with a lady that frowned, no smile. They screwed up our simole order, got the wrong name when it was literally Ava. The bagel was soft and not toasted with liquid in the butter, forgot our drinks and the teller and person who makes the drinks/smoothies looked so miserable. Oh the best part is paying 18 dollars for a plain bagel, a farmhouse sandwich, small coffee and a hot chocolate. Never ever ever ever again will I step foot in here. No manager on site or at least in plain view, and seemingly no training on how to deal with customers needs. This is the second and last time I will eat at this Einstein's. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with veggie smear with Turkey and lettuce. Paid the extra $2 for the Turkey. I also got my husband and step daughter bagels as well. I only checked to make sure everything was in the bag not that it was correct. I got home and no Turkey or lettuce on mine and my bagel was warmed not toasted. My step daughters bagel was warmed with barely any cream cheese on it. Terrible customer service!!! We used to love coming here but the manager Christa was awful and absolutely won't do it again. Asked for a drink that I order regularly, asked politely 3 times for her to remake it because she kept calling it something else. She then told me "we aren't Starbucks" and said she would ring me up to fix it. She was terrible. The drink was awful AND when we went in not a single table was clean. Her hair was all over the place, mask coming off her face and general dirty appearance. The other kids were nice but didn't make up for the complete lack of management and customer service. Can someone teach the employees what customer service is all about? I was in there on 1/15/2021, National Bagel day. No one else in the store, and the lady taking the order was very rude. They are not friendly, rushed my order and then did not get it right. I order bagels for my office team, and we found out they did not cut our bagels for us. They have been getting smaller and smaller since the days they started where you got a nice sized one and they were sliced properly and they cared. Multiple bad experiences and Corporate has no follow up for Catering Orders made online!!! I've been told multiple times I would be followed up with and nothing. We pre-ordered online 2 weeks in advance only to walk in and have no one know what was going on. Waited almost an hour for the order to get completed- but actually not, when we left we quickly realized it was not fully complete.
