New to Houston & wanted to try this spot! It did not disappoint. Their sign says tacos, whisky, and beer so I imagine that is what they are known for. However, we got margaritas, a burger, wings, and chips with Queso/guac. It all was soooo yummy! Marg was amazing, hand crafted. Would come back for it! The wings were also bomb! We sat outside, the vibes were great! Loved the service, it was a very team feeling effort. Everyone helping. Really enjoyed this place and will come back again for their all day Wednesday happy hour!

My fiancé and I come here every year for our anniversary and it never disappointed! The drinks are always great, staff is nice, and there is plenty of seating any day you go. It's more of a casual spot but still really nice inside. If you get anything from here, definitely get the nachos!! They are so good and are made from a truck out back.

Popped in for a quick night cap after leaving an event and it turned out to be just was we needed. We ordered a burger - my vote is yes on the burger. The drinks were 4/5, but we did have to tweak them a little. The only downside was the service. I'd give them 3/5.

Good house frozen margarita! $13 regular price but $7 during HH. Ambiance is nice in here, full food menu available. Largeeee whiskey collection and options to choose from. 8/10 rating

A friend and I went to Eight Row Flint on a chilly evening and I loved that we were able to sit outside because they had large heaters/ firepits for us to sit by. Our server was very friendly and made some good suggestions during our time there. We were there during happy hour so we both ordered frozen margaritas for the first round and red wine for the second. The margarita wasn't as flavorful as I'd expected it to be so it was better for me to switch. We shared an order of the queso to start and I was glad that it wasn't spicy - just flavorful and delicious! For my main, I ordered the cheeseburger with curly fries which I'll admit isn't something I'd usually order. The burger was OK, but tasted more like a fast food burger than something from a sit down restaurant. All in all, I'll definitely visit again and will try a different main next time!

We stopped in for a quick round of drinks after dining across the street. The customer service was okay. The bartender wasn't too friendly. The ranch water was not my fave. The frozen margarita and painkiller were really good. We also played spin the wheel for $5 to win a drink. We won the Lynchburg lemonade which was not our cup of tea. It tasted like a hottie toddy. Definitely would go back for happy hour.

And we keep coming back... The whiskey selection is superior and the tacos are spectacular! It's nothing fancy but totally worth it. We love the pork carnitas, shrimp and Brussels sprout tacos. The cocktails and fresh and imaginative.

This place has it all! I was trying to stay dry-ish so I had a Paloma with Elevate Pineapple. Paired it with the birria tacos. Both were so good! I'll definitely be back when I'm looking for drinks in the future! Huge whiskey and tequila selection and a great patio for the fall weather.

I've been to Eight Row Flint a few times and this place gets the job done. This is an old service station turned into a neighborhood bar. Parking absolutely sucks here. The lot has tight spaces and not much of it. DO NOT park across the street. They have people watching it and will tow right away. It happened to my friend on this last trip. There's plenty of signage warning, but let this be your warning as well. Customer service was ok. They have quite an impressive selections of spirits as well as good beer on tap. On my last visit, I ordered an old fashioned and it was just not the best I've had. I prefer my old fashioned with the singular block cubes to avoid a watered down drink. They do have a food truck in the back slinging out some tasty bar bites. Overall, this is a solid spot. Not my first choice, but still one I find myself back at from time to time.

The Hubs and I came to check out this place and have a drink. I ordered a strawberry magarita on the rocks and he ordered an old fashioned. I started with 2 stars because my drink came out frozen and when I told the waitress, she told me that I didn't say on the rocks. I replied, I didn't say frozen ma'am. It was her tone and facial expression that I didn't appreciate. The Hubs loved his old fashioned which earned them an extra star.

Great spot for libations and food. This full service bar makes a great destination for an evening of fun with a great Texas vibe. Wednesday is all day happy hour on drinks and until six on weekdays. Definitely worth taking advantage of for the cocktails. There's plenty of bar bites to be consider, though the tacos here are legit and very popular. I also enjoy the freshly fried chicharrones that arrived at the table still crackling! The large patio is supplied with adequate heat lamps for chilly evenings.

Chicken wings and beef cheek taco
    LaMecia M.

We came here on a Sunday just before the brunch ends. The day was gloomy (rain and cold) so there wasn't a crowd. We ordered several tacos. The beef cheek was incredibly tender. I also enjoyed the shrimp and chicken tacos but both of those had slaw which tasted too salty for me given that I follow a low sodium diet. I asked them to remove the slaw from the beef cheek and it was better. My dining mate also enjoyed the crab rangoon dish and the chicken wings. If the vibe is always low-key I could see myself returning. This would also be dependent on the music -it had quite a drastic shift when we were there from hip-hop/pop to practically heavy metal. Staff was nice and friendly. Service was quick.

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

The lines are almost always long no matter the time of day, but they move quickly, so the wait isn't bad. I usually grab a pink lemonade as well, which hits every time. I don't like cinnamon but the horchata was addicting and it paired so well with the food. My friend got their Melon Agua Fresca and he said it was really refreshing as well. The gorditas were stuffed and they were so delicious, the cheese was melting and the bread was warm and not dry. The Quesadillas were my favorite. You put both the red sauce and the green sauce on it, a lot of lime juice, and it's perfect. I forgot to order cilantro on mine but they do give you it at no extra cost. There's a parking lot, but we went on the weekend, and while the interior didn't look overly full, it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is clean. Everything is pretty much green and white. There's covered patio seating. You order from a window and there's a large menu printed nearby The menu offers all sorts of tacos, meats, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, quesabirras, sides, and even kids meals. You can get beer, margaritas, and non-alcoholic drinks. There's also a breakfast menu The food was good, and it didn't take too long to come out. My main issue was the service. The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait. Just go up to the pick-up window when it's supposed to be ready for a painless interaction There's a little bar area where you can get pre-packaged (to-go) salsas, pickled onions, limes, etc etc etc. the salsas are tomatillo, habanero, and jalapeño (I believe) You can order margaritas to go, which we did!
