My son and daughter bought a car together recently. Eich offers car loans through Wells Fargo with an interest rate of 13%. The credit union gave them an interest rate of 6.9%, almost less than HALF. Eich assured them they had thoroughly checked every inch of the car before they drove it home, but within an hour the brake light came on, and a week later the engine light came on. The price was super and the service was excellent from start to finish, the nicest group of people I have ever done business with. Called to ask a question about the Volkswagen buy back warranty from their lawsuit. Mechanic refused to answer if a particular part was covered under this warranty. Called Volkswagen for a list of parts covered by the warranty and had it before the call was over. Customer service advised I use a different dealer. Horrible service. Driven more by $money$ than providing a real service to customers. Avoid this dealer if you can and if you can't at least avoid Joe. He'll try to make a bunch of shit up to get you to pay for stuff you don't need. read more

REALLY??!!! I called earlier today to verify that a car advertised online as on their lot was actually on their lot so that I could test drive it. I gave the stock number, and the color that was listed online to be doubly sure it was the same car. Ryan checked, repeated the stock number back to me and said "We may not have it. Someone came on Saturday who loved it and I think may have bought it. Wait, we have it, they must have gotten it in another color," (the bs has already begun). He said they did indeed have it in the lot. He promised me that he checked and was positive it was there. We set up a time for this afternoon, just a few hours later, for me to come in and test drive the car. He asked for my number so that someone could call me to let me know who would test drive it with me. As I have no personal knowledge of any of the employees and rationalized that not only do I not care what the name of the person is who drives the car with me, but also because I may receive unwanted and frequent calls from the dealership, I declined to provide my number. I went in at the assigned time and was greeted by a woman who told me that another associate would help me, after I repeated the exact model/color I had called about and wanted to see. An associate then came over and said that the car I had called about had actually been sold. I find this EXTREMELY difficult to believe. But I did not have the energy to inquire as to if it was sold in the four hours since I called, or if Ryan was just mistaken after we both repeated the stock number twice and he assured me it was on the lot, ORRRR if maybe it was a total bullshit scam to get me to test drive a more expensive model, as they suggested I do several times. I declined, and said that I wanted to test drive the exact car I had researched and that, surprise surprise, was cheaper than the ones now being pushed on me. Hmmmm, I wonder if they list the cheapest style and price to get you in there so that they can upsell a more expensive one???!!!! I was assured that a car identical I had wanted to drive would be on the lot on Wednesday and then both the associate and the woman AGAIN tried to coerce me to give them my number. She even said that had I given them my number originally they could have informed me of their mistake. My fault! I WILL NOT BE BACK. Sucks that I will now have to drive to Mpls, but worth the drive in hopes of minimizing the bullshit that is inevitably involved as a woman trying to buy a car. read more

My fiancée and I purchased a used 2009 Jetta GLI from Eich Motors. While there looking and purchasing the car, the sales team was excellent. However, one week after having the car we experienced issues and the EPC light came on. We called the dealership and was transferred to the sales manager working that day (Saturday). I explained the problem and we agreed on us bringing the car in first thing Monday morning and they would have a "loaner" car ready for us. When my fiancée arrived Monday morning, NO ONE had any idea what was going on or why our car was there. They couldn't reach the sales manager that we spoke with and did NOT have a car ready. When they did pull a car around it was basically on empty (we live an hour away) and needless to say, my fiancée was late for work that morning. They did get the car fixed that same day and we had arranged to pick it up the following day at lunch. When we arrived to pick up the car, it was fixed, on empty and full of grass on the floor mats! Any other dealership would have at the least, washed the outside of the car. Ours was left on empty (assumed from road test) and filthy inside and out. We were very happy initially with the whole car buying experience; however "service after the sale" was ridiculous. Will NOT be returning to this dealership for future repairs OR purchases. read more

I spent two months car shopping in the local area and really disliked all the dealers around, I had found a car I was interested in at Eich (had never considered them because I never think about VW or Mazda to be honest). Test drove the car and didn't like the car. The sales rep asked what I was looking for and I went through my whole list (it was incredibly long) and then gave my budget. He said he had some cars that definitely fit 90% of my list and a few that were 100%. I test drove a Tiguan and loved it! He sent it home for an overnight testing. We ended up buying it, the paperwork/signing was nice, they weren't pushy or tried to upsale it. When we went back for an oil change they were quick and efficient. Unfortunately it was -4 so they couldn't do the car wash but told me to bring it back when it warmed it outside. Then in May I got a flat tire and took it to them to look at. They said they would fix it free of charge and give me a car wash with it. I've loved their service and they are always great to work with. We will definitely be going back when we need our next vehicle! read more

Eich sold me a car that not only had a recall part for the engine. A couple weeks later i had to bring it back in for a break issue, they had to replace the brakes and rotors. They did cover this fortunately being it was within a 30day window. Now a couple months later i am paying to fix my whole front end suspension? Was this even checked with the previous fix? Worked with Randy to purchase a new Mazda 3. He was able to get us the exact car we wanted at the right price. It was a painless experience, and we would drive to St. Cloud Eich purchase again. They spent time going over the details and technology of the car with us. When we went to pick up our new car and trade in our old one, we were there less than 45 minutes. Was relatively pleased w my recent purchase of a cx-5 up until yesterday when I was available to get my remote car start system installed that I bought at original time of purchase and wasn't able to have installed until now due 2 my seasonal job gets real busy before freeze up. So after the installation they came over and informed me that now I have 2 have 2 separate key fobs at all times to use car start system. Who I the heck wants multiple key fobs in pocket at all times I don't even like one now I have to carry 2 no thanks wish they said something before I never would've got it. Very upsetting read more

When i moved to st cloud i took my VW passat for regular services to Eich. When ever i took my car for service next day, i see some problem with my car like lights were working before i took it to them and then its not working for some reason. Looks like these ppl are breaking things more than fixing and they lie a lot. Once they told me to put a trimming belt which i had replaced few months ago and when i pointed out to them could you check in your system since i have replaced it few months ago they said oh sorry our bad you don't have to do that repair. Another time after oil change i noticed they haven't even filled my wiper fluid and wiper fluid bulb went on beeping while i was driving. After this incident i stopped going there. We take the car to the dealer expecting a better service and this is what these scam ppl do. So i would say go to eich service center if you have no other choice and beware of their scams read more

I went to buy my first semi new car, I was about to have a baby, and was told vw had awesome safety ratings and heard other great things about VW. First I got a certified pre-owned(CPO) 2009 jetta se 2.5, and Not thrilled about getting pushed into this vehicle by the sales person but I figured what the heck. In the following 8 months I owned this car, i returned 6 times for repairs. Needless to say, when I got my tax return and traded in this piece to get American. Never again, and will not recommend them to anyone ever. Sales people are typical sales people and lie to your face. The service staff hardly know what they're doing and charge far too much for basic repairs. Once you're into a car, there is no way out of it through this company or the higher chain of command. this is what my experience was with this place. The day I drove it off the lot, the tire sensor goes off, figured okay no big deal the pressure is low. The sensor was bad. They "replaced it" same day and I thought it was a fluke. The battery had a bad cell in it after two months, wouldn't cover it and was going to charge me $160 to fix it. I went out and got after market battery for $80 took 6 minutes to put in. Yes, I literally timed it. I was told it was a great winter car, I went into the ditch. First time ever going in the ditch, mind you, in 6 years. I was never told CPO had roadside assistance, was never told there was a separate tow hook that screwed in to the back end of the car. When I got yanked out of the ditch, the control arm got bent. Wouldn't take credit for that mistake by the sales person but knocked off $60 for the repair because I bought and installed my own battery. It was Christmas weekend and they have us a loner car, 2012 Passat. No gas in the tank and it was my responsibility to fill it. Two weeks later, in the dead of winter -40 outside, the blower motor locked up frying the control head meaning I have no heat in my car front or back. I have a 4 month old daughter and have to drive two hours to here since VW can only be fixed at VW locations without costing up the ass. It was a long chilly ride and I was furious. the blower motor got put in, and they didn't have the control head in but we had heat at least. I asked everyone I could find in this place about getting us a different vehicle because I'm tired of having to be here every month fixing something different and making money payments on something that keeps breaking. No one cared and they all said we'll look into it but no follow-up and had seemed to forgotten when I asked them about it an hour later while I was waiting. I called up VW Care, played phone tag with the manager of my case for two weeks before he said we can give you a credit for one months payment or a credit towards a new VW. No return, no better business bureau, no lemon law infraction. Never buying anything from this dealership again, never buying Volkswagen again. Their customer service in Germany might be great, but not here. read more

FRAUDULENT SALE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE: Eich Motors hid a well documented transmission leak on a pre-owned Mercedes Benz. They sold my BMW X5 out from under me when I had paid and had possession of the tags knowing I wanted to return the Mercedes! By 2 1/2 months, I notified a Mercedes dealership that the vehicle was chugging which we now know to have impending catastrophic engine failure. It's a lemon of a vehicle! Eich Motors committed fraud in the inducement of the contract and refuses to answer or return calls on a lemon of a vehicle that has serious problems. The salesman JC Campos and Sally in Financing misrepresented their vehicle and extended warranty. Fortunately the 2 1/2 months is within Eich Motors 3 month warranty time frame but since they've blocked me from their Facebook page, deleted my comments, and refuse to answer my calls, it looks like we'll move on to reporting complaints to Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services Division, Dealer Unit; The Minnesota Department of Commerce Enforcement Division; and the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Response Center. Eich Motors needs to respect customers and honor their own warranty and the Lemon Law. read more

Recently bought a VW from Eich. I was an out of state buyer who came from a long distance, but Kimm did a great job providing all of the information I requested, and I arrived as confident as one could be buying a vehicle sight unseen. The vehicle was described as being almost perfect and it came EXACTLY as advertised!! This is my third VW and so I am very knowledgeable about the vehicle and Kimm also impressed with his knowledge. I cannot say enough good things about Kimm, the car buying experience, how much trust and faith I have in Eich - it is a completely different and better experience than where I come from. I bought a VW TDI, so I won't need a new car for a long time, but when I do I will seriously consider buying another vehicle from here even if it involves a flight and a long drive. read more

We are very dissatisfied with this dealership. Not only was Lee Whiting (finance guy) unresponsive but he also tried adding additional services to our agreement after we stated we did not want them. He is impossible to reach by phone and will not return calls without upper management involvement. He also would not provide us with a copy of the purchase agreement our bank needed to start the loan process. The purchase agreement was only provided to us after the store manager directed Lee to give us a copy and needless to say, we did not finance through Eich. Though upsetting, the worst part took place a few months after we drove away will the bill of sale and title in hand. We began receiving threatening voicemails from Lee Whiting saying, "if you walk outside your house one day and your car is gone, too bad, I tried. We are taking legal action." (I have all the voicemails saved and would attach them if I had the option to). This was very concerning especially since we had no idea what he was referring to and when we tried to reach out to him, he was unresponsive as usual. When I finally got through to another finance member, she stated the dealership believed we did not pay the rest of the down payment but that they couldn't prove that we hadn't paid because the money could have been credited to another customer's account. This was very concerning to us for obvious reasons, so before we paid them $2k we wanted to make sure the money actually came out of our bank account. This is where we discovered Eich Motors tried charging our card for $2k - months after we took possession of the vehicle and without our permission. Despite being told they had no record of our credit card information which we originally gave to them to make the down payment, they were trying to charge us for the contested amount without discussion with us. They clearly do not comply with state laws regarding sensitive information storage or usage. This experience has been memorable to say the least and for others interested in purchasing a vehicle, please do not be fooled by this dealership and go elsewhere! read more

Terrible service. I went in to get my battery replaced and they said that they woud reprogram the radio and make sure everything was working afterwords. After the battey was replaced, my auxiliary input option on the radio stopped working. When I brought the vehicle in to get reprogrammed, they said the radio was faulty and would cost over $500 to replace. It was working great before the new battery they put in. read more

I brought my bmw to the service department to get an oil leak fixed got my car back with all kinds of issues, leaking coolant, no heat, whining sound from the serpentine belt which their " master mechanic" had to replace because the old belt was too clogged with oil at 50000 miles?????. The service technician even hang up on me to cut the long story short if its not a volkswagon or mazda good luck if its fixed right,it took them 3 weeks to fix an oil leak. read more

Not sure if it was the person I dealt with or the company SOP, but I will never buy from Eich again, and actively tell everyone what happened. Friends who recommended them in the first place recently had to go to VW of America due to their refusal to recognized warranty items on there jetta tdi. The check engine light came on one week from my buying the car, and I payed in full for this car. They refused to do anything unless I payed about a hundred dollars for them to scan for the fault code. Less then poor customer service all around. To bad I did not drive to the cities for a very similar car that was only one hundred dollars cheaper, I just didn't know enough about Eich. read more

After driving five hours with cash in hand. Found out we were mislead. Not only was the vehicle filthy inside, the clean carfax that they referenced was a joke. The vehicle clearly had front end damage to the bumper and underneath the vehicle. The carfax also showed multiple electrical services on vehicle in short period of time with continued replacement of bulbs every 5000 miles. When my husband pointed out damage that was unfixed the salesmen was unaware but admitted he did not get down on the ground. Mind you this was a certified vehicle with a full inspection. When we opened the convertible top the seals around the windows were severely damaged however the salesmen assured us he thought it would not make a difference for water tightness. When we pointed out that the carfax did not list any incidents however the car had clearly been in a crash. The salesman got defensive and advised us he could not be held liable for the carfax report. Then when my husband asked me if I wanted to test drive it and I said no. The salesman who advised he was the sales manager became irate with us. My husband got up and shook his hand and thanked him and then I shook his hand although I think he did not want to shake either. He thanked us for all the time, phone calls, and e-mails he had sent in a snotty, assinhine tone??? Seriously sales manager Mike did you drive 5 hours to purchase a car that you were lied to about? Thank goodness I did not put down the 500 dollar deposit they kept trying to talk me into to hold the car. I would have had a great time trying to get that back. Don't know if the whole dealership is like this but certified car with tons of damage plus constant pushing to put down deposit to hold, plus sales manager getting angry with you because you wasted his time equals never going back there. Wow Im going to start off by saying that my wife and I have been loyal VW/Audi drivers for years and we currently own a VW CC, (in which im giving this "raving" review about), a VW Passat, and a Audi A4 1.8 turbo. The CC we purchased from Eich was advertised as a 2013 but was mfg early 2012. I called our local VW dealer who verfied by a quick VIN look-up that it was a 2012. The Sales MGR said to me it doesnt matter when the vehicle was mfg its what we say it is. I am also aware of the federal mfg. date guidlines that if things are mfg. after the 6th month of the previous year they can be considered the following year for ie. if a car was mfg. on 05/2012 it woukd be considered a 2012 if it was mfg. after 06/2012 it would be considered a 2013. with that said there also is a VIN group in which if a car has a A-D in the VIN it can be sold as the following year even tho it was mfg before 06/2012, so the sales MGR with held information and refused to tell me the mfg. date which I knew at the time looking at the VIN it was MFG early 2012 he also told me I didnt know cars at all, and threatened me that if I tried to sue for false representation that I wouldnt get very far. I had a great car buying experience! Although the service I received after purchase has been just annoying! Few weeks after purchase wiring issues with the dash light started happening. No biggy this happens sometimes. Brought the car in they gave me a loaner (for two weeks) until mine was fixed. Not even a week later the dash lights start going off again, no big deal just some "wiring issues". I tried contacting my sales guy for a month but not one response to my voicemails. Finally the car starts really acting up where I'm afraid to drive it. I contact the mechanics there. Very helpful! Gave me a loaner that day. It's been 2 weeks now and still have not been contacted about what is going on. Mckays dodge contacts me saying "Hey your 3 month extended warranty is up and the guys at Eich want to get their car back tomorrow." Umm ok what's going on with my vehicle. Still no light at the end of the tunnel. Called Eich tried to speak with my original sales guy no answer. Just rediculous. Lacking some severe communication skills! I've owned the vehicle 3 months now and its been sitting in a shop for over a month and STILL have not been given an answer. Best I got was "We aren't sure we'll call when we know". Grr writing this review just made me more angry so I'm going to knock another star off for that. read more
