Came for brunch with a friend that lives in area. It was busy on Sunday right as church got out. I didn't wait long I think maybe 15 min. The girls at front checking us in and taking us to tables were very nice. Our server was very nice and attentive.. she gave us space to catch up and our orders came out in few min once we ordered. I got bacon eggs grits and one pancake.. I forgot how much food that is lol.. all was very good! It wasn't very loud and it was pretty busy .. laid back and cute decor. read more

I have been to both of the locations in NMB and like both. I get the Crab Cakes Benny. They are on the small side but flavorful, especially because they're served on garlic toast instead of an English muffin. The home fries are tasty and you can add onions, peppers, breakfast meats, or cheese to them for an up charge. Service has always been exceptional. They are prompt and friendly and checked on me while eating to see if I needed anything. It's a cute spot and very clean. read more

Horrible service!!! The waitress was Terrible and had us sitting, waiting to be served for over 15 minutes. She never acknowledged us at the table or anything. The hostess saw we had been sitting for a while and when she got the attention of the waitress Karen, she came to the table with a bad attitude like it was our fault she didn't know how to wait tables. I do not recommend this restaurant at all!!!!! We observed her interaction and timeliness to other tables and our experience was different. Not professional! The worst experience I have had of any place in the area! DO NOT go to this location unless you want to wait forever! Told us it would be 25 mins, took 86 mins! Empty tables that were clean everywhere! They claim lack of employees, but they have the same amount running around as I have always seen at this location and the others. The service we had was on point. My kid didn't think he had enough food off the kid menu, BUT he totally had the correct portion, and I appreciate it. My food was OK, and my husband had the French toast. Everything was OK, but it's nothing earth-shattering. I ordered grits, and they were good! Decent. Even. But... I will say it looked like the servers were overwhelmed by the number of tables needing to be busted while they navigated and brought folks food. It was good for a quick bite, but I may keep navigating for other breakfast spots. It's not bad, just not epic. read more

Not our first or even second choice, but sure glad we ended up here... We missed the turn to the first place we were going to eat, the second stop had people waiting outside, so off we went and ended up here. Welcomed very warmly, we were seated immediately and we visited by our waitress quickly. My wife enjoyed their eggs and sausage with plain pancakes, while I did the same but with their specialty Apple Crisp pancakes - it was sinfully delicious. I highly suggested it if you come here. Atmosphere: Eggs Up Grill has a spacious dining area, and the mood inside is bright and energetic. Service: We had some difficulty getting our group of 6 seated. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that it would be around a 15 minute wait to be seated, but we ended up waiting closer to 20-30 minutes. Though our server was friendly, 5 out of 6 of our orders had some problems. One of our group members never received their coffee, and several of us did not receive the eggs that came with our dish. Food: We ordered the Shrimp & Grits and Founder's Hash & Eggs. We were really excited to try the Shrimp & Grits, as the shrimp alongside some andouille sausage sounded delicious, but we were disappointed to find that the dish was extremely salty and greasy. Once we took a few bites out of the bowl, there was a very visible pool of oil that made the dish look very unappetizing. The shrimp and sausage tasted good, but we weren't huge fans of the cheese -- we thought there was too much of it in the bowl, resulting in several gummy chunks of cheese overpowering the bowl. The Founder's Hash & Eggs were ok. The corned beef hash was unflavorful and was just salty at best. It had to be eaten with the eggs and a good amount of pepper to be palatable. The grits and biscuits were standard, and the eggs were cooked at a good over-easy. Overall: The friendly and welcoming energy of Eggs Up Grill did not make up for the poor service and food. The food was rather unflavorful, and their Shrimp & Grits was probably our least favorite interpretation of the dish. As Eggs Up Grill prided themselves on their wide egg offerings and then failed to bring out the eggs that came with our dishes, we would not recommend them for brunch. read more

As I lightly tried it on one half of my Crab Beast Benedict, and for me the taste was harsh and just did not blend. However, that is my tastebud sensitivity. I also asked for the old bay on top of the hollandaise because I wanted to taste my poached egg, and that deliciously enthralling crab cake. Yea man, I am definitely a fan, because "it was a so nice", I ate it twice. While I realise that breakfast for some of us is break fast, a pop tart, or cinnamon roll and coffee. To me it sets the tone and tenner for my day. So if you want that pep in your (yea, the coffee for me, could be a little stronger but is good) step, and a song in your heart, than Johnny Dee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! Enjoy!

Of course there was zero parking with a parade of cars in the parking lot waiting to pick up food, when my wife noticed a pick up truck right in front of the place about to exit. She sped right next to the spot and jumped in before anyone realized it. We're in...or so I thought. We strolled up and there were about 35 people sitting on benches and rocking chairs under a tent right in front of the place all waiting to get in. I figured this is not going to be easy. I went up to the hostess station and asked how long for a table for two and she said 35 minutes or so. I looked at my wife and gave her my name. I had to find out what all the hub bub was about. In about 30 minutes they shouted my name and I sprinted to the front door...I wasn't about to lose my table. In we went and we're shown a nice size table in the middle of the place. It kinda reminded me of a beachy mom and pop diner. The friendly waitress came to the table right away, gave us our menus, showed us the specials board and took a drink order. The menu was simple but had some choices on it. While we were thinking, she came back with our drinks and we quickly ordered an appetizer. In this case, onion rings. A few minutes later my wife settled on a crab cake app and a salad which she asked to be combined. I went for the soup of the day(NE clam chowder) and one of the specials...pork chops(I took my grilled not fried) with 3 sides, Lima beans, okra & tomatoes stewed and green beans. The meal came with a choice of cornbread or roll. I opted for the cornbread. In a flash, the onion rings came out followed by the soup. Now I do love me some onion rings and these were fantastic. Crispy, flavorful and not stringy. The soup was home made. Creamy with bits of clam and chunks of potato. No salt or pepper was needed as it came out steaming hot and perfect. It was a meal in itself and I ended up taking 3/4 home with me(something rarely do). After a few minutes, the main course came out. My wife dug into a very large homemade crab cake, chock full of crab meat and very flavorful. She loved it. The salad was fresh and crisp. My pork chops came out and the size of the plate shocked me. Now, I almost never talk about price but my plate was $12.49 and I got two large perfectly prepared, juicy pork chops with a healthy helping of the best okra and stewed tomatoes I ever had plus absolutely delicious green beans and tasty lima beans. What a deal! The only thing that wasn't above average was the corn bread which was a tad dry and plain. Most of the regulars opted for the home made roll(and the fried chicken which was being served at every table!). I was stuffed and had trouble finishing my plate. My wife who said she was full, managed to save enough room for dessert. Now everyone was eating the homemade peach cobbler so I suggested that. My wife never had it before and was thinking about the Oreo pie, but I persuaded her and she was glad I did. Instead of the usual whip cream she wanted vanilla ice cream with it and it was a fantastic combo. The cobbler came out piping hot and crumbly with sweet chunks of peaches that paired well with the cold vanilla ice cream. She attacked it so fast that I couldn't get a picture. I broke my own rules and dipped in for a few spoonfuls and I'm glad I did. It was heavenly. The bill came and I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. Now I know why you can't get into the joint. We paid our bill and gave the super friendly waitress a nice tip and were on our way. We will absolutely be back and will try to time it a bit better so we can find parking...or we'll take an Uber...it was that good.

I heard they sold off to new owners and shame on them for letting such a wonderful establishment fall the way this place has.
