Came for brunch with a friend that lives in area. It was busy on Sunday right as church got out. I didn't wait long I think maybe 15 min. The girls at front checking us in and taking us to tables were very nice. Our server was very nice and attentive.. she gave us space to catch up and our orders came out in few min once we ordered. I got bacon eggs grits and one pancake.. I forgot how much food that is lol.. all was very good! It wasn't very loud and it was pretty busy .. laid back and cute decor.

I have been to both of the locations in NMB and like both. I get the Crab Cakes Benny. They are on the small side but flavorful, especially because they're served on garlic toast instead of an English muffin. The home fries are tasty and you can add onions, peppers, breakfast meats, or cheese to them for an up charge. Service has always been exceptional. They are prompt and friendly and checked on me while eating to see if I needed anything. It's a cute spot and very clean.

Enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Shrimp and grits were yummy. Highly recommend the donuts and carafe of mimosas.

Bright and cheery breakfast joint. This became our go to breakfast spot while we were on vacation.

The food was good but in my opinion it's more west coast diner meets southern food so if southern food is really what you're going for I don't think this is the place for you. Service was wonderful though and the vibe is great. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.

My husband and I just had breakfast here. The service was fast and the food was good. Unfortunately, our server wasn't very personable. Overall, I think we'd eat here again.

Sweet waitress. They really seem to get along back there. I had the home style platter and it was yummy and a lot of food. Good coffee that was always refreshed. Interior looks clean, new and bright. My only suggestion would be to have some smaller portion options.

Packed for breakfast but the service was quick and friendly. I ordered the praline pecan pancakes with bacon and an egg. They cooked the egg a perfect over-medium and the bacon was nice and crispy. The pancakes were delicious too. The coffee was fresh and hot, and the server came by often to top-off my cup. Felicia was our waitress and was very attentive.

Photo of place while we were waiting for 86 mins. Still not sat and told would be an hour for food after we are sat!

Not professional! The worst experience I have had of any place in the area! DO NOT go to this location unless you want to wait forever! Told us it would be 25 mins, took 86 mins! Empty tables that were clean everywhere! They claim lack of employees, but they have the same amount running around as I have always seen at this location and the others. Some places I can see that is the actual causation, not this one. Kept seating two tops before any other parties that kept the kitchen backed up! Learn how to manage a restaurant Eggs Up!

The sides are honestly big enough for 3-4 people. I got a honey cocktail which was great as well. The waiters (especially Rio!) went above and beyond with their service. We had asked if they had anything similar to fried mozzarella and the chef went out of his way to make it for us despite it not being on the menu. They also bagged all of our food and even put the rest of my salad in the fridge until it was time to go. At the end, we got a complimentary jar of honey. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous - you can tell how much work they put into remodeling the restaurant. There's a nice dining area as well as a bar area. Would highly recommend dining here for dinner if you're in the area!

The decor inside is very neat with lots of (fake) botanicals, wood and stone features. It was really very pretty. The four of us were seated immediately (the chairs were very comfortable!) The waitress was very sweet and competent. She quickly took our drink orders and when we returned, we were ready to order. My husband and aunt had The Sunrise Platter, my uncle got the Classic Royale Benedict, and I got the Southern Chicken and Biscuit Benedict. She asked if we would like any condiments and brought them to us in little bowls, which was pretty cute, I guess. The food did not take long to come out. The food was good but it was not as amazing as expected. My husband's sausage was cooked but was not browned so it looked gray. My chicken could have used a LOT more seasoning. We all agreed though that the best thing we all got were the potatoes. OH!! And my poached egg was cooked PERFECTLY. Overall we were pleased with our meal. I would definitely come back and try again with a different menu item. I must also mention that the manager or owner came by our table many times to make sure that everything was going well. The service was truly the best part of this place. Also, apparently at night, it turns into a steakhouse? I would be willing to try that out was well, assuming their steaks are seared more than the sausage!

Hi Everyone, Johnny…read moreDee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! When you walk in to Johnny Dee's you are greeted with smiles, even at 8:00 AM. Their restaurant is very nicely appointed kinda like a Ski Lodge without snow and the fireplace (it's Myrtle Beach, yo) big, open, and inviting. Our Server Riley was personable, and polite. Our food was out fast, that's right, hot food! The Waffle with a side of bacon was "perfect" with a flavor fantastic, cinnamon forward taste and not too sweet but well balanced, I mean you can always get sugar rush from the syrup but you don't need it. The texture was soft and pliable. The side of bacon was again "perfectly cooked", and three big pieces, so yes Granny, you can save a piece and a half in your purse for your BLT at lunch. Their California Benedict, was "superb", with a terrific taste. Yes, you health freaks can go to Johnny's and keep you figure in tack, while you enjoy the feel of your meal. Then, last but not least, I got the Crab Beast, Benedict. Their portions on all of our meals were generous, but you will really get to feast, on the Crab Beast. I tried the spicy Remoulade sauce which Riley suggested that I put on the side and she was spot on. Thanks Riley! As I lightly tried it on one half of my Crab Beast Benedict, and for me the taste was harsh and just did not blend. However, that is my tastebud sensitivity. I also asked for the old bay on top of the hollandaise because I wanted to taste my poached egg, and that deliciously enthralling crab cake. Yea man, I am definitely a fan, because "it was a so nice", I ate it twice. While I realise that breakfast for some of us is break fast, a pop tart, or cinnamon roll and coffee. To me it sets the tone and tenner for my day. So if you want that pep in your (yea, the coffee for me, could be a little stronger but is good) step, and a song in your heart, than Johnny Dee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! Enjoy!

This Thursday I was heading up with the wife to buy some fish and we decided to go for it. Of course there was zero parking with a parade of cars in the parking lot waiting to pick up food, when my wife noticed a pick up truck right in front of the place about to exit. She sped right next to the spot and jumped in before anyone realized it. We're in...or so I thought. We strolled up and there were about 35 people sitting on benches and rocking chairs under a tent right in front of the place all waiting to get in. I figured this is not going to be easy. I went up to the hostess station and asked how long for a table for two and she said 35 minutes or so. I looked at my wife and gave her my name. I had to find out what all the hub bub was about. In about 30 minutes they shouted my name and I sprinted to the front door...I wasn't about to lose my table. In we went and we're shown a nice size table in the middle of the place. It kinda reminded me of a beachy mom and pop diner. The friendly waitress came to the table right away, gave us our menus, showed us the specials board and took a drink order. The menu was simple but had some choices on it. While we were thinking, she came back with our drinks and we quickly ordered an appetizer. In this case, onion rings. A few minutes later my wife settled on a crab cake app and a salad which she asked to be combined. I went for the soup of the day(NE clam chowder) and one of the specials...pork chops(I took my grilled not fried) with 3 sides, Lima beans, okra & tomatoes stewed and green beans. The meal came with a choice of cornbread or roll. I opted for the cornbread. In a flash, the onion rings came out followed by the soup. Now I do love me some onion rings and these were fantastic. Crispy, flavorful and not stringy. The soup was home made. Creamy with bits of clam and chunks of potato. No salt or pepper was needed as it came out steaming hot and perfect. It was a meal in itself and I ended up taking 3/4 home with me(something rarely do). After a few minutes, the main course came out. My wife dug into a very large homemade crab cake, chock full of crab meat and very flavorful. She loved it. The salad was fresh and crisp. My pork chops came out and the size of the plate shocked me. Now, I almost never talk about price but my plate was $12.49 and I got two large perfectly prepared, juicy pork chops with a healthy helping of the best okra and stewed tomatoes I ever had plus absolutely delicious green beans and tasty lima beans. What a deal! The only thing that wasn't above average was the corn bread which was a tad dry and plain. Most of the regulars opted for the home made roll(and the fried chicken which was being served at every table!). I was stuffed and had trouble finishing my plate. My wife who said she was full, managed to save enough room for dessert. Now everyone was eating the homemade peach cobbler so I suggested that. My wife never had it before and was thinking about the Oreo pie, but I persuaded her and she was glad I did. Instead of the usual whip cream she wanted vanilla ice cream with it and it was a fantastic combo. The cobbler came out piping hot and crumbly with sweet chunks of peaches that paired well with the cold vanilla ice cream. She attacked it so fast that I couldn't get a picture. I broke my own rules and dipped in for a few spoonfuls and I'm glad I did. It was heavenly. The bill came and I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. Now I know why you can't get into the joint. We paid our bill and gave the super friendly waitress a nice tip and were on our way. We will absolutely be back and will try to time it a bit better so we can find parking...or we'll take an Uber...it was that good.
