After dinner plans at another establishment fell through my friends and I were starved and scambling (no oun intended) to find another place to eat. After mulling a few choices over and since we were already parked in the area we decided on Eggs n Things. I figured breakfast anytime is good. Now, I had my heart set on dinner and drinks, So it came as a relief to find they offered a small dinner selection...and beer!! So I decided upon the Chicken cutlet. I would have to say it was just ok, nothing I would do back flips over. For me, it lacked a little flavor and "zing" I like, it's just the certain " je ne sais quoi" that simply can't be fixed by carpet bombing your plate with salt and pepper. As many other restaurants, the portion size was generous, so I couldn't finish it all. I did however fully enjoy the two beers I had! Next time I may get breakfast. read more

Food was decent, ordered the french toast with mandarin oranges and macnuts as well as the corned beef hash and potatoes :) both tasted good..the french toast a little overwhelmingly sweet and sugary but I think thats what people want when they order it! We went super early in the morn so no line which was nice. Our server, the tall gentleman with glasses was super attentive and very friendly! Excellent service! read more

Was mandated by our local friends to eat here... phenomenal! Low prices and absolutely delicious food. The coffee, orange juice, spam & eggs, pineapple waffles, and loco moco are must haves! read more

Terrible service. Went here 3 times, only ate twice! The first time I went with my gf and the service was ok. The food was pretty bad. Pancakes were bland and eggs were dry and tasteless. I don't understand how you can make a bad omelette. Second time and third time I went, I never even ate anything because of the terrible service. On both the second time and third times, when we came and asked to be seated, the host in the front told us to wait for an open table, but the restaurant was empty. We told them that, but they said they were cleaning so we had to wait to be seated. My friends and I waited for 30-40 mins and still never got seated. 2 groups of customers came after my friends and I arrived and they were seated before us. We decided just to leave because of the terrible service of making us wait to be seated when there were empty tables and seating people that came after us before us. I will never go back. read more

I first ate at Eggs and Things when it was a true local hangout on ENA Road in 1974... as it grew and got bought by the Japanese owners it has changed. First I would stay that the cater to the Japanese tourist above all, mainland tourist next and locals last. Food is still good not like it was in terms of portions or taste having been changed to meet Japanese tastebuds (Sweeter pancakes etc) but good. The main detriment is the long lines even with reservations.. doesn't make read more

A friend recommended Eggs n Things to me before coming to Honolulu. We came here for breakfast the first day of our trip and I got the Traditional Moco Loco. My husband got the corned bee omelette with pancakes and upgraded it with blueberries and whipped cream. I LOVED the moco loco. The gravy was so rich and flavorful, the meat seemed high quality. It was amazing! My husband wasn't too impressed with his omelette since the corned beef was from a can but we both loved the pancakes. They were perfectly cooked and delicious and the whipped cream was piled high, probably homemade. We came back here on another day of our trip. read more

If you're looking for a long wait and bad customer service I'd recommend this place. They care more about scamming hungry tourists then delivering good food. I paid $24 and change for a stack of waffles, potatoes, and an crab cake Benedict. The eggs Benedict was soggy and the crab tasted fake. I'm from an area where crab is in surplus so I know what good crab tastes like and this wasn't it. The potatoes were undercooked and cold. The pancakes were served with no butter, and they charged me an extra $4 for a single sliced strawberry. I have never been more disappointed. read more

Called to place a takeout order and they said they are not accepting phone orders at this time. He referred us to place an online order, but it could only be placed through a 3rd party like Uber eats. Why would I want to spend more money to use 3rd party app when I could just pick it up? Just a waste of time and disappointing. read more

Really great selection of breakfast choices. Ate here many days in a row and was always happy with my meal.

I was there on 2nd day of soft opening. Service was good, staff was friendly, (she was from Saratoga Restaurant, she is a pro~!!!) After we order, it took a while to have food (longer then what I expected) but it was onolicious~! read more

Since we were in town, we thought that we would try this place out. We have heard a lot of rave reviews about it and thought, "What the heck?" There was a long wait for a table. It was around lunch time though. Our wait was around 30 minutes. We got a table. Food took a little while to get served. Perhaps we were all expecting this wonderful, extra tasty food and that's why we were a little disappointed. Food was just okay. Nothing that made it more special than any other restaurant. Not worth going into details. Don't think we will be going back here though... read more

So I went for a long run at the beach and what better way to end it with some good breakfast! Parking was packed so I parked across the way in the parking garage, but hey for good food I don't mind. Once I got in I was seated right away at the bar, and trust me I hate waiting so this made me pretty happy. The waitress was very kind but she was messing around on her phone while asking me what to eat and drink but it did not seem to effect her work. She was also very good about refilling my coffee. I ended up getting my food in about 20 to 15 minutes. I ordered eggs over easy, bacon, and blueberry pancakes with whip cream and nuts. The bacon was about what you expect, average, the eggs were much to runny for my taste but the pancakes were simply the best I ever had. Overall it was a little more expensive then I would have liked but with the mixed reviews on good and arrive I gave, I really think I will come back just to try it again. read more

Decided to have a nice Sunday breakfast with friends and got exactly that! The wait was about 40 minutes but hey, it's the weekend so I expected a wait. Ann was our server and she was in a word, delightful! I had the veggie omelette with a side of pineapple pancakes. The salsa that came with the omelette was lovely and had the perfect "kick". The only flaw was the lack of avocado. The pancakes come with a light, airy whipped cream that is heavenly! I will return...thank you Ann for the service with a genuine smile read more

Why in the WORLD does this wonderful place only have three stars???? I can only imagine it is because of the parking situation and the fact that bus loads of tourists are in and out of the doors constantly. But if it has anything to do with the food or the service? I can't believe it. I recently went back to this restaurant with dreams of Crab Benedict's in my mind, and boy was it just as good as the last time I went. I had the most scrumptious Crab B. with a side of roasted potatoes. Everything about it was just as I remembered. Now because I already talked about the wonderful C.B. I will talk about the special of the day they had. The Cajun rubbed Ahi. Oh my god. SO GOOD, it was flaky and fresh and the Cajun rub was something to call home about. Between that and the sauce that came with it, I think I was in Heaven. The service is always kind and fast and we even talked to one of the servers about one of our favorite TV shows for a bit. I can't stress enough how good every thing is, heck, I even reached across the table and stole some of my friends Loco Moco.. which no surprise there, AMAZING! read more

This is my spot! I come here almost every week for a good and hearty local style brunch that I can depend on for consistency and cleanliness. I always go with eggs, a meat (Portuguese sausage is always a winner) and pancakes for my side, but I've had the potatoes and they are pretty solid as well! The syrup trip included guava, coconut and maple-guava is my favorite. All of the staff there are super friendly and will remember your face, even though it gets pretty busy on the weekends.... This location is a thousand times better than the one on Waikiki across from the beach, hands down. Pro tip: they give Kamaaina, military, student, and ala Moana mall employee discounts-this is definitely a way to keep me coming back week after week! I always look forward to my Sunday mornings with Joanne and Samantha! read more

The service was great at the Piikoi location. However, I was disappointed that they don't serve the pancake sampler until noon...that was the whole reason I went there for breakfast. I ended up ordering the pineapple and macadamia nut pancakes and it was soooo good! I made a suggestion to Jeff, the manager on duty, that they serve the sampler at breakfast too. Fingers crossed as I would go back there way more often if this was the case...I'm a total pancake addict! Go early as it can get really crowded and the wait time is long. Atmosphere is nice and inviting. read more

I've loved this place since I very first moved here and I've been to 3 different locations. I wanted to try this location out hoping it wouldn't be as busy. Right I was! I was quoted half an hour wait for two when there was like 30 ppl outside. After 20mins I checked with the host what the status was and she told me another 15mins, but I noticed that a party had just left at the surfboard bar and asked if we could sit there. And there we were putting in our order enjoying our delicious hot coffee! The crab cake eggs benedict was so yummy! He didn't skip a beat! John at the surfboard bar was phenomenal! Refilled our cream for the coffee 3 times without even being asked! Even brought us bags and plastic utensils for what we couldn't finish for takeout! The speediest, most friendly service I've ever received by Eggs 'n Things! Thanks so much! We'll be back! read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Crab Eggs Benedict, Coffee, and Panclocks with Guava Syrup! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

A very popular tourist attraction. I came here for the special Gudetama brunch menu because all of the pictures I've come across looked so good and cute! I got the Loco Moco. The egg was nice and runny, and the gudetama face on the egg came out cute! Just like the pictures! I normally don't eat Loco Mocos, but this one was pretty good! Unfortunately I think the special menu was only for a limited time, if it wasn't, I'd go back again for it. The pancake it came with was just your basic buttermilk pancake. It was fluffy though. They make their own whip cream and it was really good! Not too sweet and whipped perfectly. The bf had a bacon and spinach omelette. Normally whenever I get any omelette with bacon, it's little bits here and there. It's never really highlighted. so when he ordered it, I was a little skeptical, but there was an equal amount of bacon and spinach. The omelette came out fat, which is a good sign because it was stuffed! It had so much bacon. It's great for any bacon lover. We would both get it again. Overall, it's a typical breakfast place, but I went only for the cute character menu. But I would return for their regular items. read more

Came around 1:15pm on a Saturday, party of 2 quickly sat. They need everyone in the party to be present in order to be seated. Staff is friendly, food came out pretty quickly which was good. I got the special for the day which was Portuguese sausage, green onions, zucchini, and cheese. Really good! I got mine with the home friend potatoes, which was really dry so if you're a rice eater don't get the potatoes for a change. Boyfriend got the fried rice.. liked it, but lots of veggies in it. Went there only because I had the entertainment coupon, buy one entree, get one free. But silly me I forgot to read the fine print as it's only valid from 4pm to closing :/. However, at least I did leave unsatisfied thanks to reading some reviews from yelp. I knew coming in not to order any Benedict, even though that is always my go to breakfast whenever I go out for breakfast. Nothing beats Cinnamons at Kailua. I ordered the fresh ahi steak, furakaki style with over easy eggs, which came with a choice of rice, potatoes, or pancakes. I chose potatoes at first, but then changed my mind and told my waiter to change it to pancakes. However when I got my dish, potatoes were on it. I asked the guy who delivered my plate that I told my waiter to change it to pancakes. He was nice enough and said sorry about that, just go ahead and eat the potatoes and I'll get you a plate of pancakes. 3 minutes later and I had pancakes too, and once again, he apologized. I was very pleased about it. And the ahi steak was delicious! I knew coming in that I wanted to get something that I can't usually make at home, like scramble eggs and bacon (which is WAY OVER PRICED). About $10 which I think is a rip off. Ahi steak was going for $14.45. Still a bit expensive but better bang for the buck. Ahi was cooked very well and was very flavorful. Definitely get the furakaki style. Eggs were eh.. Had to use soy-u and tobacco to make it flavorful. The pancakes were cooked well, fluffy, and the 3 syrups, coconut, guava, and regular made it flavorful. My mom ordered the blueberry crepe which came in 3 and that was flavorful too. The sour cream was a bit too much for my taste, but at $13, again, better that just eggs and sausage. Overall I was very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. The old pictures of what ala Moana looked like added character to the place. They also are a very paperless place. All orders were done via an iPod and any take out was in a brown paper bag. Paying for the bill, you go up to the cashier and she knew what table you came from. We got the 5% discount, but wished we could have used the second free entree! Will have to go back to use the coupon on a dinner entree. read more
