Eggroll Chen has been feeding my family over 30 years. I've watched their children grow up. Portions are ample. Enough for 2 people. Different from other places. It pays to try various items to discover what you like. I like Mamasan's Beef Noodle Soup. It is not prominent on the menu. Hubby likes Sweet and Sour Pork. Another likes the fried dumplings. Other dishes are packed with veggies. At least once a week I get the Spicy Sour Soup with a side of Fried Wons Tons. Ask for your order made your way. They will accomodate. They tore down the old place and built a nice new facility. We love that they have a drive up window for phone in pick up orders. read more

I returned to this Columbia favorite recently and was happily satisfied. The Beef Noodle Soup was just like I remembered it: warm and satisfying. Hard to beat and still less than $7 ! (I am not good with chopsticks, so I bring a fork from home. This meal is hard to navigate with a plastic fork. ) The restaurant is efficiently run and relatively clean considering their volume of business. Orders come out quickly. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. There is plenty of parking and that is a good thing because this place can get really busy at lunch time. I will return for more! Food was good! The sesame chicken was cooked and sauced very well! The spring rolls were also good. However, the service was terrible. I asked the cashier for chopsticks, "just for funsies". He looked at me with an angry face and rudely asked "for WHAT -sies?!" Then rolled his eyes at me and proceeded to flick me off. I'm sure he was just having a bad day though. Anytime I want chinese food I come here and no where else. They have so many different choices that you can't go wrong! I've tried lots of things on their menu and have only found 1 thing I didn't like (yen su ji). It wasn't a bad dish, just didn't appeal to my tastes. The family that owns it is very nice and the entire staff is great! Honey sesame chicken is the best I've ever had anywhere! They truly live up to their name because they have the best egg rolls around! The only downside to this place is it is always so hot in there! I don't know if the air doesn't work or if they just never run it to save money, but they have fans all over just circulating hot air! Other than that, this place is the best! read more

Used to be a favorite. We came back to Columbia from out of state and ordered Egg Roll Chen for dinner. We got our food back to where we were staying (which was half an hour from the restaurant) and the entire order was wrong. My toddler's entire meal was missing. I called the restaurant only to be met with a rude employee who was unwilling to make it right and ultimately ended up hanging up on me when I asked to speak to their manager. What we did receive was inedible. My husband went all the way back to pick up the correction and it was still wrong, even though they insisted it was what he ordered. The second order of general tso's chicken was soggy and mushy just like the first. We spent almost $50 on a meal for 4 adults and one child that had to be thrown away. We will absolutely not be back. Very disappointed at how the employee treated us and their unwillingness to compensate even a little bit for our meal and the inconvenience their mistake caused. Instead they said "there's nothing we can do" and they assured me that they had been there all day and told me no one had ordered what I claimed we ordered. My child's meal was never corrected and we had to scramble to find him something else to eat after traveling all day. I have never experienced such horrible service from what used to be one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in Columbia. read more

Its hard to find good Chinese in Columbia but Eggroll Chen is definitely at the top of the list! The beef noodle soup is great along with the Fried Wontons, Beef Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls. (Stick to these and you won't be disappointed!) Its definitely affordable and you can get a smaller portion of food for a cheaper price. They also have the Super Combo where you can get chicken wings, fried rice, an egg roll, and a drink for less that $7. The owner is pretty friendly and the food comes out fast. I go to Eggroll Chen once or twice a week. For the value and speediness, four stars! read more

This place is clean, the food is good, portions are big, and the price is about right. I normally avoid fast food egg rolls because they are mostly filled with cabbage and tastes like left-overs but this place gets it right and are aptly named. You can't go wrong with the House Lo Mein, Dragon Triplet with noodles, Beef Noodle Soup, or the Taiwanese Rice Noodle Soup.
