Not sure why bad reviews. The food was wonderful. Ready at time it was supposed to be. And it was piping hot. This is a great spot for takeout I honestly don't know how we didn't come here sooner. They have a huge menu so some things are bound to be better than other. Tried the garlic beef, general tso, sesame chicken, and roasted pork noodles and all were 5/5 would order again. Sesame Chicken was good. Not great. Sweet n Sour Pork? Complete joke. Tiny little cubes of flavorless pork. Terrible. Shrimp fried rice was ok after some soy sauce,but nothing special. Shrimp egg rolls were decent size,crunchy enough but the inside was kinda mushy with 1 shrimp in it. Goes to show ya,just because a place has been around for a long time, doesn't mean it's good. Good Chinese takeout spot. Every time we've been, we have had no complaints. The food is not amazing, but it is good for American Chinese takeout cuisine. The service is good and fast and the ambiance is that of a hole in the wall Chinese takeout spot with no dine in tables. So, if that's what you're looking for, you found it! This time I got some wonton soup and for someone who has the flu, it hit the spot. I came home, put my soup in a bowl, heat it up (because I like my soup steaming hot) and added a few more green onions. It wasn't anything to brag about, but the meat inside the wontons wasn't overcooked and the broth tasted fresh, so that makes a difference. Been coming here for many years and can tell you they make some dishes very well and others not so great. Sometimes the chicken quality is hit or miss. They do have very good pork lo mein, won ton soup, boneless ribs, shrimp in lobster sauce. Most of the pork dishes are good quality. read more

I've been going here forever. The food is always good and they are super fast. Like a whole meal for the family is ready in 10 minutes fast.

Great food. Staff is always nice when I pick up from there. I had eaten here a few years ago and it seems to be much better now.

I was hoping this was a buffet, but I was wrong. The boneless chicken was good but the breading kept falling off. The vegetables we're good, but the sauce at the bottom was way to hot. The plate of rice was plain. But I had leftovers so thats good. read more

So happy we found this restaurant. Ordered wonton soup, fried dumplings, egg rolls, chicken & beef, with broccoli, and roast pork lo mein for family lunch. We all enjoyed the food and finished the left overs as well. Friendly staff and good food, give them a try. read more

If I could I would rate ZERO STARS. I downloaded the app to order online they got my order wrong. I ordered Roast Pork with Broccoli Steamed sauce on the side they gave me Beef (I dont eat Beef). Beef was grey anyway. The burbon chicken tasted freezer burnt and the peas in what they call fried rice looked still frozen. The Wonton soup tasted like warm water. Nasty and disgusting all around. Terrible food. Ordered the chicken fried rice, beef with mixed vegetables, egg drop soup and an egg roll. The "chicken" fried rice has zero flavor, huge pieces of onion and it looked like it was dyed with yellow food coloring. A shout out for New China in Lexington! With the big basketball game in an hour, and no one wanting to go out to pick anything up, they delivered very quickly! In fact, the food was still almost too hot to eat after being delivered. The order was accurate as well. We've eaten there before and were pleased (obviously, since we ordered again), but had always picked up. This was our first delivery. I'm not sure what all of the negative reviews are about. Almost everytime you call for delivery you are told they don't deliver today because the driver didn't come to work. I wish I could redeem it with the quality of food but it's average to below-average for modern Chinese. If you do order and go to the store you see five people there with only one or two working and the others talking or watching a child. I'm all for making your job work with your family and your schedule, but I think someone would note the bad impression this image bestows after being denied delivery. This place was horrible! My simple dish of shrimp fried rice was fishy tasting, the shrimp themselves were microscopic and my rice had no flavor...way over priced too! The beef sticks were rubbery and the crab Rangoon had no crab?!? Get it together...it's only Chinese food...I can make this myself way better and will next time! read more

My experience ordering from New China almost weekly for more than a year has been in all ways positive. Upon coming here from an area of the country in which the population is very demanding and has exacting expectations, I was much relieved I discovered New China quite by chance on line. The deliveries are remarkably swift, and the food has been consistently excellent. I now am aware this is a small family business, owned by people who came here only in the past few years from Mainland China without having any English language background, which makes the excellence they provide even more astonishing and admirable. read more
