Chens will always be my go to chinese food. Anytime I'm back in Columbia it's the first thing I want. I've tried to find equivalents to their tofu but I never can. As a half vegetarian family and half meat eater family this place is perfect for us. Their sesame tofu is above any other tofu i've tried and is a better price. It's sweet, crispy, chewy and so flavorful. Their lomein is heaping and also very flavorful. One serving of tofu and their vegetable lomein is enough for my family of 5. Their dining room space is typically closed ever since covid. We typically always order it for take out because of this but we had some friends with us so we called and asked if we could eat in. The lady was very nice and accommodating and cleared a space in the closed dining room for us. If I could give them a 10/5 stars I would. read more

i'm confused with the bad reviews. This is honestly my favorite Chinese place. I haven't had a single thing on the menu that I don't like. We order here at least once every two weeks, if not once a week- the food is very good and consistent, the staff is friendly, and the food always comes out fast. I highly recommend trying this place, and it doesn't matter what sure what you get you will like it. Alright...gave this spot two chances and ended up sick both times. Thought it was a fluke the first time, but clearly not. We tried the sweet and sour chicken and the orange chicken. Orange chicken was soggy and could really use more orange peel which really gives it the authentic orange flavor. Sweet and sour was fine, but their fried rice is greasy and lacks flavor. This is NOT your normal Chinese place. The interior is renovated as of January 2014, and it's quit nice with room for expansion. Why 5 stars? The chicken wings are always perfectly crispy, and tasty. The hot and sour soup is awesome and features some veggies like zucchini that you you don't find in many versions. I order it EVERY time I come in ( which is weekly) The Singapore Chow Mei Fun is AMAZING Their new Spicy Shrimp soup is also good with plenty of LARGE shrimp in it, not those dinky salad shrimp. They now serve Japanese hibachi ( it's cooked in the back though) and my new favorite..,. The BENTO box. This is a traditional lunch in Japan. At Chens you get your choice of one piece of two types of dumplings as an appetizer, entree ( there are about 5-6 choices which include both Japanese hibachi and Chinese food options, some fried rice, and your choice of miso soup ( which is also pretty yummy) or a house salad. Finding Chinese food is easy. Finding a GOOD Chinese restaurant that is reasonably priced, close by, friendly, and consistent is very difficult. Chen's satisfies all of that criteria. The owner greets everyone with a smile, always reminding them that they are closed Monday, "Come see us Tuesday through Sunday, ok?" The service is fast. The food is some of the best takeout Chinese food I've ever had for the price. There is better out there for a higher price, no different than any other product, but for the price, they are excellent. I am a Lo Mein and rice noodle fan, and Chen has prepared both for me. Both dishes were fantastic. We have ordered their egg rolls, spring rolls, pu pu platter, fried rice, all were excellent. My wife and I have yet to eat in the restaurant, but I watched (as my food was being prepared) as the service staff stayed on top of the customers who did chose to eat in. This little place is close to my house, and I always think about trying it, but usually go for my usual fave, No 1 China, but I saw I could get delivery, so I gave it a shot. I got the General Tso's, and it was alright. Better than some, but not as good as other restaurants I've tried. I felt like it could use more broccoli, and the chicken needed to be a little more crispy. I noticed they have several hibachi options, and also tofu options, so I'm excited about both of those. My wife is a vegetarian so it's not always easy to find stuff for her to eat. She had the veggie Lo Mein, which was okay, a little greasy, but also better than a lot of other Chinese places. I would recommend Chen's to any one that enjoys chinese food. They even have gift cards that you can purchase, and when u do you will get a few extra $'s free on your card. The food is good but this review is about their excellent customer service. My card somehow got ran twice when we ordered food. I alerted the owner two days later and she made a point of calling everyday to check on the refund until the money went back into my account. It was less than $30 so her concern for me getting my money back was really admirable. Definitely would visit again. read more
