We have been coming here for years, being our initial favourite breakfast place. We heard they recently have gone under new ownership and decided to try it out. We ordered our usual, 2 Mexican eggs Benedicts with the crispy potatoes on the side. The potatoes were fairly salty (both my husband and I made the same comment), and I ate half of my Benedict before I noticed a chunk of eggshell at which time I alerted the waitress who took the meal away. I didn't get a replacement & was shocked when we got the bill- they charged me half of the Benedict I ate - unknowingly - with the eggshell. I feel, after many years of our business, this was our last time there as we were truly disappointed at the managers decision to not fully credit my portion.

Been coming here for years and it was our favorite breakfast spot! The menu is ginormous. There is something for everyone. There is a parking lot close by. There is a waitlist online but no reservations which can be tricky on a weekend. They get busy! Weekdays are much more relaxed. Jen is our favorite server! Make sure to ask for crispy potatoes, it's a game changer

Great breakfast and lunch. Awesome burgers. Usually way too busy, I prefer takeoout for that reason. Priced fairly.

The place has a classy feel, with a space that's thoughtfully laid out and comfortable to sit in. Really loved the overall vibe. That, along with attentive service and solid food, made for a great experience. Everything was above standard, and I appreciated not just the quality and portion size, but also how fair the pricing was. Only small note is that the salad on the side felt a bit generic. Nothing wrong with it, but didn't quite match the level of the rest of the meal. The Chicken Chowder, on the other hand, was a total surprise. Hearty, comforting, and just full of that savory kind of goodness. It was so well done, I honestly wish they served it in XXL size. Overall, it's a lovely spot I'd be happy to come back to. Feels like the kind of place that gets the little things right without trying too hard.

I got the cornmeal trout and chips and my partner got the cheeseburger. We both agreed that the fries here were absolutely delicious! They were perfectly fried in my opinion and had that salty tasty crunch. I think the trout was alright for me personally. Maybe because I'm just so used to fried haddock when I get fish and chips. The service was great and our server was very attentive. I will say I think the ambiance is quaint and cute but I think I was just a bit thrown off by a few minor things (i.e., water was lukewarm, the chair I sat on had a few crumbs, etc.) nothing huge and probably doesn't bother anyone but me. I'd go again for the fries and to try out something from the brunch menu.

If you live in Guelph, you may be familiar with the Dutch Toko deli which is located in the…read moredowntown area on Wyndham Street. Predominantly a deli, they also sell cookies, drinks, and other food & gifts from Holland. I would frequently go in there for sandwiches, as I used to live in an apartment on top of the store. You ick your own cheese and meat and have it served on a bunch with margarine and/or mayonnaise and/or mustard - for $3.50. They serve them on really nice buns (which by the way they don't sell, at least not more than a couple at a time - these come from Buns Master). I am a mustard-hating woman, so I always get mine without. The one time they misheard me, I came back later to explain that I am allergic to mustard (as I might as well be, it makes me feel sick to my stomach) and I was unable to eat it. They replaced it for me at no cost. This morning I didn't have time to make breakfast, so I quickly popped in during one of my work errands to grab a sandwich. Behind the counter were two women, one of which I knew by sight and the other who I believed is either new, or doesn't work there full time. The one whom I knew was helping an elderly woman, so I got in line behind a man who was being helped by the other - or so I thought. They were actually just having a friendly chat, which appeared to have no end in sight. I sighed inwardly, attempted to shake off my frustration, and pulled out my phone to send a text message to a friend confirming plans for this weekend. What felt like years later, the man had been served and proceeded to the checkout, and I placed my order for a turkey and gouda. "Mustard and mayonnaise?" "No. MARGARINE and mayonnaise please. No mustard." The woman begins to make my sandwich, all the while maintaining a conversation with the fellow who had been ahead of me in line. I finally got to the front, paid for my sandwich, and legged it back to the office. After getting situated at my desk, I pull out my sandwich and take a huge bite. ...and was met by the bitter taste of mustard. ALL over my sandwich. Needless to say, I am more than a little unimpressed. I don my jacket and say "I'll be back in a minute", and quickly head back to the deli. The woman who had served me was now serving two others, and the one that I knew looked up and asked "Can I help you?" "Well, my sandwich is covered in mustard.. I can't eat it because I'm allergic," I explain. "Oh yes, well we know that, but she probably doesn't. Here, I'll make you a new one", she replies, taking the mustard-soaked one from my hands. "I realize that, but I specifically asked for no mustard." We had caught the attention of my sandwich maker at this point, who I am already feeling wary towards considering she not only wasted my time chatting while she had customers in line, and then proceeded to give me the ONE THING I asked her to remove. "I'm not sure that you said that. You WERE on your phone at the time, so..." is what she comes out with. Let me get this straight. You ignore the customer standing in line behind your friend, continue to chat before even serving him, then proceed to keep talking WHILE making my food? And you think that because I sent some texts DURING your talk-a-thon (essentially because I knew it would be a while before I got served), you can use it to somehow blame me for your ineptitude? I wouldn't have cared about the sandwich, people make mistakes all the time, myself included. What I do care about is your customer negligence, your unprofessional attitude, and your complete lack of customer service skills. I request NO MUSTARD every single time I buy a sandwich. Today I even underlined my request in the air with my hand (I have no idea why) as if to illustrate how important this specific statement was. This has nothing to do with my damn cell phone.
