I really like this place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have everything from bacon & eggs, omelets, to burgers, wraps and sandwiches. The fruit cup is fantastic and always my choice for a side with my omelet or breakfast entree. Today I came in for lunch and had a veal Parmesan sandwich with a side Caesar salad which was amazing. I decided to visit an old stomping ground in Guelph. If you are a student who just cannot get a spot in the library there are a number of places to retreat to, this was mine. Buy a breakfast plate and have unlimited coffee while you work on homework. Talking to the staff it seems it is still a tradition since the library has restricted their hours due to covid. My companion and I ordered the steak and eggs, it was...weird the steak like it was steam and charred. It seemed to be a bit off for grilled steak colour. It was edible. For 19.99 each I was expecting better. The location did covid screening, or at least the pretend to, when I saw a boss say scan it with your phone the employee pretended on his screen and did not open the covid app and said yes okay. Before heading back to Toronto from our Guelph visit we decided to come to this diner for breakfast. Tbh diner food is not always my thing yet this place looks very nice aesthetically with jukeboxes around. I have no idea if they actually work or are for display only. I like that it was super clean and tidy. The food was well cooked and fulfilling for a diner. However service could have been better. Came to visit a friend in Guelph a couple weeks ago, and we decided to go out for a regular diner breakfast! She suggested Angel's, and previously living in London, I had frequented Angel's there, had always loved their diner breakfast. It was a Wednesday morning and it was surprisingly busy, but we were able to find a booth seat and the menu's were already at the table. I had ordered a coffee and the diner breakfast with eggs sunny side up, bacon, whole wheat toast and tomatoes instead of potatoes, because I knew i wouldn't eat them, and thankfully they don't charge extra for this option. Breakfast came out in good time, the food was hot, and the eggs were gooey, so I can dip my toast in them, just the way I like them. The coffee was hot, it was a delicious diner breakfast! Prices were reasonable as well, your regular diner breakfast cost. Great place to come for breakfast with friends and enjoy the atmosphere and scenery. You probably have been to a 50s diner restaurant but I doubt you have found one where they take the 50s customer service standard so seriously. These waitresses don't just frequently refill your glasses without being asked, they make sure your ketchup bottle is refilled too after making sure nothing more is needed at your table. They take their deli seriously too: there are dozens of smoked meat roasts in.the glass display case waiting to be opened. The double pork chops I ordered had perfect grill marks and was juicy when sliced. French fries were crispy and malt vinegar was brought to me promptly when asked. My companions had back bacon burgers with nice thick homemade gravy on their fries. Extra points: when we asked for lime with our cola and diet cola, they instantly brought the lime slices and didn't mistakenly bring lemon slices. When he arrived he took our order and asked my husband first what he was having. Excuse me? Where are your manners? If you are looking for superior quality food, freshly squeezed made juice, and plump berries in your organic pancakes, then don't come here. This place has a reputation for other reasons. This place is perfect for that quick friend/family get together. The prices are extremely fair as well. I ordered 2 pancakes, sausage, bacon, toast, and 2 eggs (my choice of style) for just 9 bucks. Not too shabby! The service was really good, super friendly staff, and always being looked after for the amount of customers they have. I stumbled on Angel's while in town for a Roller Derby match. One of the local derby girls suggested it. We showed up with a big group on a Sunday morning for brunch in the middle of a rush but were still seated quickly. Our waitress was sweet and funny and ridiculously attentive. Our food came out quickly, exactly as we ordered. Our coffee cups stayed full and we weren't rushed out at all. The funky decor and relaxed feel fit our group perfectly. I would definitely recommend their pancakes and their eggs benny (the hollandaise sauce was insanely good). My meal came with a fruit salad which had a big variety of fresh fruit including berries. I haven't been to this diner for a long time since I've moved out of Guelph but growing up I remember going here with my mom a lot on the weekends. I loved the breakfast specials and it was very comforting and nice to go here for breakfast with my family. The food such as eggs, sausages and toast was great and tasted good too. Angel's is a place that is pretty much always open. So on a holiday weekend when you want to go out for breakfast and most places are closed, Angel's is open for business. You pay $7.25 for your standard breakfast with a coffee. The eggs are usually cooked to your specification, the potatoes are deep fried and lack seasoning, and the bacon is crisp beyond recognition. I used to come here because i love the vibe, the restaurant is always poppin'. However when you come on a holiday the service is generic bc they just want you in and out. I stopped there on my way home from a hockey game with my mom. It was busy but we were seated almost immediately. Since it was Halloween all of the servers and staff were dressed in costumes. Ours was a vampire. We ordered and when the food came out I could not believe the size of the portions. i got the Chicken souvalkie dinner which came with a huge Greek Salad, rice, home fries and pita bread. I got 2 huge chicken skewers and boy oh boy was the meat juicy. The salad was a little over dressed for my liking but meh. The tizkiki was homemade and amazing. I couldn't finish my food. My mom got the liver and onions with mashed potatoes and coleslaw and said the liver was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were real potatoes and the coffee was delicious.
