I love a good old diner. This is a really great spot if you're looking for an early morning eatery with a friendly staff and old school vibe. Food was very classic however, and frankly left me wanting more. The Polish sausage was ok (very peppery) and overall I was just sort of underwhelmed by the plainness of the breakfasts available.

Veal Parmesan Sandwich with Caesar Salad

I really like this place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have everything from bacon & eggs, omelets, to burgers, wraps and sandwiches. The fruit cup is fantastic and always my choice for a side with my omelet or breakfast entree. Today I came in for lunch and had a veal Parmesan sandwich with a side Caesar salad which was amazing. The hostess and waitress were so friendly , helpful, and kind. Sadly, they're closing their doors temporarily because of Covid effective Wed Jan 5 and will be available for take-out only.

Fried chicken with mashed potatoes... soooo goood!

This is a weekly staple for my family. My boys love the breakfast options and suckers for the pancakes and waffles (love sweets? get the half-moon waffle!). Wife and I love the huge breakfast and lunch menus. My fav? The amazing fried chicken and ribs! Just be sure to go early or expect a wait, they do get busy!

Retro diner decor. Food is average. There are probably way better options in Guelph. All the staff was very warm and friendly which was the bright spot of the visit. For my tastes, I would look for a better brunch place in downtown Guelph but you'd do alright going to Angel's

Looking for a greesey diner? This is it! Lots of breakfast options, wraps and sandwiches at reasonable prices. Quick service and busy environment.

Varying lighting colours in a fifties manner

We arrived close to the closing time but we're still served just as kindly and promptly as usual. The meal was hearty and filling. The fifties decor is all over the place. No rushing us out either. The regional chain has scaled back in recent years unfortunately.

Angel's Diner is exactly what you expect it to be. All the breakfast items look great and prices are fair. I was disappointed with my scrambled eggs which tasted like dish soap (someone needs to rinse dishes better). The coffee was also hit or miss; first cup was really watered down and second was pretty good. The pancakes and sausages were fantastic though. All the wait staffed seemed to be friendly and very attentive, but ours wasn't so much. I'd still come back though.

50s Diner decor

You probably have been to a 50s diner restaurant but I doubt you have found one where they take the 50s customer service standard so seriously. These waitresses don't just frequently refill your glasses without being asked, they make sure your ketchup bottle is refilled too after making sure nothing more is needed at your table. They take their deli seriously too: there are dozens of smoked meat roasts in.the glass display case waiting to be opened. The double pork chops I ordered had perfect grill marks and was juicy when sliced. French fries were crispy and malt vinegar was brought to me promptly when asked. My companions had back bacon burgers with nice thick homemade gravy on their fries. Extra points: when we asked for lime with our cola and diet cola, they instantly brought the lime slices and didn't mistakenly bring lemon slices. In conclusion: Great food, great service, Angel's Diner!

Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House - Avocado Toast

I was excited to see what this diner is all about as I've heard quite a few positive reviews…read more Unfortunately, this diner is not for me. The pancakes were just ok, the potatoes had an old potato taste, and the service was good but nothing amazing. The coffee was absolute garbage. The seating areas were fine but had no niche to them and really has the feel of a large chain diner with no specialty to it--might as well go to Cora ‍

I was hesitant to go to Stacked due to the low Yelp rating. However, other reviews were a bit more…read morepositive and some of the lower reviews were a bit dated, plus they offered gluten-free options, which is important to my daughter. The pancake servings are very large and, whether you like it or not, the menu provides the calories, which can top 1500 for some meals. They also offer waffles and traditional egg breakfasts, as well as a number of sides, so there is lots to choose from. I had the avocado toast, which was more like guacamole toast, except even the guacamole was absent and remnants of the avocado it had once been. More like a green spread with some salsa, but Ok with the two poached eggs. We also had an order of blueberry pancakes, too much for most people but they do have go boxes at the ready. Service was friendly, professional and very attentive so perhaps they've solved some of their earlier problems. In comparing it to the other larger breakfast chains, this might be on par with many but not as good as the newer more popular ones. Seems like it may have improved a bit. I'd certainly return for pancakes.
