A cool restaurant bar located in the centre of Guelph. Atmosphere certainly has plenty of that. We went to meet a group of friends here who had already eaten. It was the end of service and admittedly we were hungry, and the wait staff asked if we would like a meal without hesitation. We sheared a mixture of ribs, chips and pizza between us. The food was good and we stayed around for a while longer for some drinks. The waiter we had was really friendly and stopped at our table for a while for a chat which was nice. Atmosphere has cool decor and plenty of vibe. Well worth a look in.

Love the atmosphere and decor( even the washrooms were themed ). The service was super friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 of the pizzas--both were great and the salmon crisps were amazing. Definitely would go back if I'm back at Guelph!

They were incredibly fresh, a great size, and absolutely delicious. At $4 each they're definitely on the pricey side, but if you're planning a visit, Wednesday after 5 p.m. is the best time to go for their half-price oyster special. We also ordered the burrata paired with their focaccia bread, which was very good. While it wasn't the best burrata I've ever had, it was still a solid 4/5 and worth ordering. The bread alone was very tasty and fresh. The truffle parmesan fries were a bit of a letdown (3/5). They came topped with a very thick, mayo-based sauce that wasn't the most appetizing. I think I'd have enjoyed them much more if the sauce had been served on the side for dipping, but that's just my personal preference. The cocktails were a mixed bag. The Sunset Skies was easily our favourite and one I'd happily order again. Unfortunately, the High Noon wasn't for me--it had a very floral flavour that I found unpalatable. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. Our server was incredibly attentive and noticed that I hadn't touched my High Noon cocktail. Without hesitation, they offered to replace it with another drink of my choice and removed the original cocktail from our bill. That level of attentiveness and customer service really stood out. Overall, the food was enjoyable, the cocktails had a standout winner, and the service was outstanding. I'd definitely return, especially for the oysters on Wednesday evenings. Service was a 5/5.

The owner (I believe she is the owner) greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. She brought us water and menus. My sister and I ordered 2 cabbage rolls, Potato and Cheese Pierogies, Meat Pierogies with bacon and onions to share. For my son, we tried ordering the schnitzel sandwich, but was told that was unavailable. My son doesn't eat mashed potatoes so I asked if I could just order him a schnitzel and she said yes. The food came out in about 15 minutes. The cabbage rolls were fantastic, the perfect amount of acidity in the sauce. I really don't like tomatoes or cabbage, but there is something special about the cabbage rolls. I ate very bit of mine. The pierogies were wonderful. I usually prefer just potato and cheese, but honestly between those and the meat, I couldn't decide which I liked more. Both were flavorful especially with the sauteed onions and sour cream. My son's schnitzel was huge! He could only eat about half of it and when my son asked for ketchup (much to my dismay) the owner was very nice about it and commented that's the way her daughter likes it too. Honestly the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was great. It was very similar to what I had in Poland. If this restaurant was closer to my home I would visit often. We had no issue with parking. We were able to get a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Parking was also not too expensive since you aren't in the downtown area. If you are in the area and want a wonderful meal, be sure to visit.

The historic restaurant used to be an inn, now there are lots of seating with separate indoor dining areas and a lovely outdoor patio upstairs. We were fortunate to have a very kind and attentive server that evening. His well mannered service added to the pleasant dining experience. We ordered the Wild Mushroom salad, Herb Crusted Ontario Rack of Lambs ($59) and Chilean Sea Bass ($58). The lamb and sea bass were cooked exactly how we expected, with the sea bass especially crispy outside and soft inside. We felt the dishes were a bit pricey and could be improved like the sauce texture but overall there was plentiful portions and delicious. We enjoyed the Sea Bass and the dish's complement to it, so recommended if you want to splurge a lil! (They do have other variety on the menu to choose from.) There seems to be a lot of drama between the management and the entertainment staff as we've witnessed a couple of meltdowns by the singer on more than one occasion. This results in a far less than enthusiastic performance and no singing past 11pm. She also acts aggressively towards patrons as we witnessed when she sang happy birthday to one of the other groups that were celebrating the night we were there. The staff yank the food off the tables quickly, so you need to make sure you eat as soon as they bring it out. There are other oddities that soiled our experience. Upon arrival we were harassed by a rabid coat-check guy who insisted that everyone check their coats. No need to be so aggressive...not a great way to welcome people to the venue. There is also an old guy that comes around taking pictures and tries to sell the prints. If you decide to buy from him, give him exact change. Our friends bought 2 photos from him for $30, but when they gave him two $20 bills he took off without giving them their change. All in all, too much hassle, sketchiness and drama. There are a ton of other similar banquet halls in the area, so we would not consider booking a party here.

Loved the dill. - Bigos: my friend ordered this. Was really flavourful but I did not see any mushrooms in contrast to the menu description. - Mushroom golabki: fell apart easily and was hard to eat with gravy but all the constituent parts were tasty. - Sauerkraut & mushroom pierogi: dominated by the (delicious) sauerkraut and incredibly buttery (butterily incredible?). - Side salad combo: enough for two to share. Beets and sauerkraut were astonishingly delicious and coleslaw was quite good too. Carrots were bland. - Excellent complimentary(?) bread. A note on portion sizes - as a small man with an average appetite I thought the soup + one cabbage roll + side (i.e. 4) pierogis + side salad was manageable and enjoyable, but I think I would have been defeated if I had tried to have the soup with a standard entree of two cabbage rolls. Service was a bit rushed and servers seemed in a bit of a hurry to clear dishes before we were done, and it was impossible to reach the restaurant on the phone to modify our reservation, but we did visit on a busy Saturday evening.

This place confirms my Polish friend's sentiment of "Polish food is kind of like village comfort…read morefood." I got the platter for two (28$) which came with 4 perogies, 2 salads, 1 choice of chicken or pork schnitzel, hunter bigos stew, sour cream, and some kind of onion au jus. Also separately ordered two pork rice cabbage rolls and the warm barszcz borscht soup with wontons (chose the mushroom filling). My partner got the roast beef plate which had the option of subbing for perogies, so we were able to try four flavours between the two of us. The cabbage rolls were soft, tender, and comforting. Tasted like they were homemade with care, with the tomato sauce being the only thing that was processed. I could see how this may become bland for those looking for bursting flavour, but for me, having dined out so very frequently in the last few weeks, that was just what I needed as a relaxing meal. For the perogies, my filling preferences from best to worst are: minced pork, cottage cheese & potato, sauerkraut and mushrooms, cheddar & potato. Likely wouldn't order perogies again though because the mushy outer dough just reminds me of chinese dumplings and i kept getting confused after each bite revealed equally soggy fillings. The chicken schnitzel dipped into the onion au jus was just lovely. The fattiness of the jus complemented the lean chicken cutlet and gave it an earthy umami coat of flavour. Very nice. The occasional two bites of roast beef had me feeling like I was Violet at the Willy Wonka Factory. The more I chewed, the juicier it got. I pronounced out aloud in wonder of this sentiment actually, "mmm, that is definitely roast beef!". The borscht soup was...interesting. I think the dill was too overpowering and threw me off while trying to taste the delicate beet flavour that was supposed to be the main character. Mushroom wontons were too 'cremini concentrated' for me. Also got the kompot, which is just boiled fruit water with little to no sugar added. I had it cold, with two cubes of cooked pear floating about. It was a great fruity beverage to cleanse my palate of the dense carb-heavy meal. At my return visit, I will make a custom order for 1 cabbage roll, 1 chicken schnitzel, 1 side of coleslaw, 1 slice of roast beef, and 1 glass of kompot.
