Nice quaint little place! Our server was so nice, and we really dig the atmosphere (pun intended). Good cocktails, my wife liked the Apple Pie cocktail and my sister-in-law enjoyed her espresso martini. I had a beer from Wellington. They have about 5 beer selections on tap but good choices of local craft beer! My recommendation at this place will always be Wellington if you're a beer person. Food was nice and fresh. I ordered the jerk chicken tacos which were loaded with flavour, only complaint was it was a little soggy and messy, but still tasty. And personally I'm not a salad guy so just not a fan of the side selection. My wife got the Tofu Bahn Mi which she absolutely loved. And my sister-in-law ordered the Goat Cheese and Beet Salad which she said filled her craving. Prices were very fair here too. read more

This restaurant/cocktail lounge has become one of our regular stops, although embarrassingly enough, I always seem to order the same thing. Which just isn't like adventuresome li'l ol' me. But the slow-braised lamb shank is to die for... First of all, as the name might hint at, this restaurant has paid attention to ambience. Decor is contemporary-funky, with interesting art and a pleasing combination of industrial and organic elements. Plenty to look at and be pleased while conversation lapses. May I just mention the restrooms? There are five one-seaters -- and each one is decorated as one of the Chinese five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Simple to execute, but the attention to little details like that epitomizes the philosophy of the place. They often have live music, here, so it's worth checking the schedule. Service: lots to say, here. If it's at all possible, sit in David's section. He has been one of the most fantastic servers/restaurant liaisons I've ever met -- friendly, personable, efficient, present just when you want him, absent when you don't, full of helpful suggestions (which leads to ordering more than one might otherwise), and he obviously enjoys what he does. Other servers we've had have ranged from perfectly adequate but not memorable, to slightly off. David is a rare gem, and worth a star all by himself. Cocktails: they provide a list! Hurray! Each evening features a specialty cocktail. Unfortunately, most of the specialty cocktails are of the too-sweet girly variety, which I stopped liking while I was living in the Caribbean (the sweet-tooth down there is profound and widespread, and drinks were offensively sugary). Happily for me, they make a great martini -- and they offer several different varieties. I usually stick to my favorite, the Dirty, which they've gotten just right every time. After a certain hour, the menu becomes more limited (bar menu), but that doesn't mean one has to choose between greasy bar snacks, oh no! The flatbreads (personal-sized crisp pizzas) are delicious and creative, and thoroughly satisfying. I love that they have a number of choices combining sweet and savory elements... like fig and prosciutto, which is a favorite combination of mine. But if you get there before the full menu shuts down, don't miss the braised lamb shank. It melts in the mouth, savory and succulent and tender, with juicy, sweet and slightly toothy baby carrots and mini potatoes to sop up the exquisite au jus. One final note: PACIFIC salmon (not the endangered Atlantic) is on the menu. Kudos! read more

Really nice pizza and great service! The pizza is thinner crust, but not overly thin. There's a good selection of pesto based and tomato sauce based pizza. The prices are a bit expensive, ($20-$25 per 10 inch pizza), but worth it. A nice place with both indoor and a outdoor seating. Worth a visit! read more

We had the BEST dinner at Atmosphere Cafe last night - if you are a salmon aficionado, you would have loved their special. I had the short ribs - incredibly divine! The vegetables were cooked to a PERFECT al dente. We've also had the Asian Sticky Rice before (and for the record, I'm Asian...) - it's superb, and the tofu is done exactly right (difficult feat). The drinks are also fabulous. The Old Fashion rivalled the ones I recently had while in Kentucky. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! read more

A cool restaurant bar located in the centre of Guelph. Atmosphere certainly has plenty of that. We went to meet a group of friends here who had already eaten. It was the end of service and admittedly we were hungry, and the wait staff asked if we would like a meal without hesitation. We sheared a mixture of ribs, chips and pizza between us. The food was good and we stayed around for a while longer for some drinks. The waiter we had was really friendly and stopped at our table for a while for a chat which was nice. Atmosphere has cool decor and plenty of vibe. Well worth a look in. read more

My partner and I decided to go to Atmosphere for a 7pm reservation February 3rd for what was supposed to be 2-3 drinks and some appetizers, as neither of us had been prior. We will not be making the mistake of coming back as the service was unbearably awful. Our server was "working" the upper section on the main floor. She took our food and beverage order at once and then brought out our drinks. We ordered a thin crust pizza which took 45 minutes to arrive and in the meantime not once did our server check in to ask if we wanted more drinks\water. Mind you it was not an overly busy chaotic night, it was just an average evening otherwise I would have a little more compassion in regards to the timing of things\ minimal check ups.Finally after 45 minutes our pizza came out, with no side plates\ napkins and 0 quality check through the entirety of our meal. Our drinks were empty, and so was the plate for at least 25 minutes before she finally came over and removed the plate and before we even had the chance to request another round of drinks, she was walking away. Other tables in the section we were sat were also looking around, drinks emptied, plates emptied, looking very unimpressed. After she had removed our plates we waited another 20 minutes in hopes she would come back up and big shocker, she never did. We had to go up to another server to request our bill and then finally after that request, 10 minutes later she walks over with the machine, puts it on the table and walks away without saying a word. The food was great, the ambience was great but the service left an extremely poor taste in our mouths, we will not be coming back. I mentioned our experience to friends\ family and several of them mentioned having a similar experience in regards to poor service at atmosphere. read more

I wasn't keen on visiting this place, based on other reviews, but given what the rest of my group wanted, this was our place of choice. I can't say it was bad - maybe it wasn't spectacular, but a definite 4 star experience. Their salads are rather unique, and the cold press Ethiopian coffee is a nice touch, and not something you find often. The interior is very cozy, and the patio is on a quiet street, making it a great hangout spot, for a late afternoon. May repeat, if I'm in the area again - their burgers looked tasty. read more

I've visited twice, both for dinner. The first visit was much more impressive than the last, which is surprising as the restaurant was packed during my first visit, and empty the second time around. If you're not looking to have pizza, then the menu is quite limited. The homemade potato chips were decent, but some of the dips a bit too strongly flavoured. I had the chocolate soufflé on both visits - it was amazing the first time, and dry the second time. We were seated right next to the bar on our second visit, and our server spent a good half hour eating at the bar while we waited a long time for dessert, then for our bill. It seems like there are some consistency issues to still be worked out. Worth stopping by for a drink or a pizza, but I probably won't be back for a while. read more

Atmosphere is a great place to go to for lunch, they have sandwiches, soups and pizza. I have been to this place many times and they really need to update their menu. I have stopped going just because i have tried everything on the menu and am quite frankly over their garnish that they have been serving for three years. Their pizzas are good, but expensive, 14 dollars for a very thin crusted pizza. I used to go their with my friends for drinks but they run you like 8 dollars for a drink which is way too expensive. Atmosphere does provide a nice setting, they just need to get a new menu. read more

Food here is decent. I've tried mostly lunch items such as the Club Sandwich, Woodland Pizza, and Bahn Mi Sandwich among others. I like how their sandwiches come with a salad and French dressing. As for non-alcoholic beverages, I've had a mug of green tea as well as a grapefruit Italian soda. Service is friendly and professional. I look forward to trying other items on their menu. read more

I find it hard to settle on a rating for this place. I went for a celebration with a group of friends and my overall experience was pretty good, but there are some things that would bring the rating down. I want to start off by saying that I had the atmosphere green salad and I thought it was so delicious! We also had the homemade potato crisps to start which were very good. That being said, one of my friends food was forgotten so he had to wait while everyone ate, and the overall prices of the place are a little high. We had a waiter who was very kind but I also found it hard to get his attention at time to order more things. In addition, my friend ordered the margarita pizza and it was horrible. It tasted like they took salt and poured it over the pizza. So overall, I would say there is some good things you can get here, but it's not the best place to go for food in Guelph by any means. read more

I was walking by with my boyfriend looking for somewhere to eat - we looked at the menu, saw the Coq au Vin pizza and were instantly sold. The bruschetta platter was a standard, but perfectly yummy appetizer and the pizza sealed the deal. There were two large parties and the other tables were full. It seemed as if they were short-staffed in the kitchen because our orders took well over an hour to arrive. My girlfriend and I went on a road trip to Guelph and stumbled upon this beautiful cafe. Our server was friendly and attentive. We went on a Sunday and they have a creperie menu. My girlfriend got a Omwich and I got a Cordon Bleu Crepe. They both came with salads. The dishes looked small but it was surprisingly filling! The ingredients used were definitely fresh and the prices are great for the lunch menu ($8 each). We also ordered their cappuccino and they did not disappoint. It was strong and good espresso, came with a chocolate stick and two little biscotti cookies. There are many other espresso choices and I wish we could have tried a few different ones. Not to forget to mention is their very unique washroom. Instead of the generic male/female washroom, they decorated their washrooms into five Chinese elements. Each of them have different interiors and this is first-of-its-kind I have seen. My only complaint would be the internet. They do have a protected Wi-Fi. We asked for the password but it doesn't seem to work. Being a cafe, it is not very helpful if it doesn't provide an internet connection for the diners. The atmosphere (pardon the pun) was terrible! The music was so loud (at 7pm) that we couldn't hear ourselves speak. At the end of our meal, we were harassed to donate for a band that we didn't even know would be there upon our reservation! Left such a bad feeling with us. There was nothing wrong with the food but it was dull and a little tasteless. The service was so-so. Didn't check on us at all once the 6 of us recieved our food. I've had two unpleasant experiences with the service at Atmosphere. The first time we were failed to be seated or even acknowledged by the staff even though we were standing right at the entrance. The chicken on my salad tasted like it was prepared on a surface with a trace of cleaning supplies still on it. When I kindly notified the server she wasn't apologetic and seemed incredibly apathetic about the whole thing. I asked for another salad without chicken, and after being served the salad the sever never came by to check to see if the second attempt was any better. When the bill came, I was charged for the chicken. Overall I was not at all happy with my experience. read more

I've been there twice and both times was beyond impressed. The coq au vin is to die for and they offer specialty pizzas with great combinations that only a true chef would think to put together. I went here with my boyfriend last night and it was awful. The service was good and friendly but the food was not. I got braised tofu and the sauce that was all over the meal tasted horrible and had a pee aftertaste. My boyfriend got the pulled pork pizza which tasted good enough but it was a rip off; there was barely any pulled pork on top. The food was alright. I had the pulled pork tacoritos as an appetizer and it was obvious the pulled pork was from a can. I tasted good but was till obviously canned. Other than that, I found the owner to a bit over bearing. But that may be me just being picky. Other than that I found pizzas to be pretty good.
