Stopped by this place by chance! They are currently doing some construction so the pub may be hard to find: it's right next to a sweets store on the left side of the construction if you are facing the hotel. There are some steep stairs right when you enter the pub so keep an eye out. The interior was really cute and the windows face the gorge so it's a relaxing view. The waitress was really friendly and she memorized our order without writing it down so I was really impressed haha (she also knew everyone who came in so the town is really friendly overall) Everything was absolutely AMAZING!! We started with the potato leek soup which was on the lighter side but it warmed us up on the cold day. I ordered the Oktoberfest dish that came with two sausages, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. The portions are big but I finished the entire plate because it was so dang good. I also tried some of the classic burger with fries, the spicy black bean wrap with salad, and the fish and chips. Everything was perfectly seasoned and tasted great. Definitely a place to stop if you ever visit Elora!!!! read more

Went to this place with coworkers while staying in fergus for few days on business. Made reservations before going. The place is reasonable size with about 10 or 12 tables. There seemed to be a lineup while we were eating so definitely a place people go to. We had nachos for App. Huge portion and lots of cheese. For main I got fish and chips. Also good portions and good flavourful batter on the fish. My coworker got a basket of sweet potato fries and when it came it was huge. And quite tasty and not too oily. Unfortunately my coworker got a tomato soup and hated it. Said it was bland and flavourless and specifically asked me to mention that. How do you mess up tomato soup? Shepards Pie is the only place that I will ever go when I feel like having some really good Pie

Tasty and okay priced food, but mediocre service and a menu with many items sold out. Came in around 2PM for lunch time. Upon looking at the menu, we knew we wanted the Shepherd's Pie. When it came time to order, turns out it's sold out. Then we wanted the Guinness Beef Stew. Also sold out (both are made in-house and would not be prepared in time). It was a chilly day so we wanted some comfort food. Weirdly enough, ended up ordering Butter Chicken. After ordering, it took about 45 mins for the waitress to come back to tell us that they are out of naan bread, and asked if we wanted to substitute it with something else. Out of the 3 things we wanted, 3 of them had either completely or partly ran out. The food itself was good but not being able to order several of the most popular menu items was really a dampener on the experience. It was Labour Day weekend so I'm sure they were quite busy and that probably explains the less than ideal experience. read more

I live in town and every other week, for years now, we have a standing reservation to meet up here with two other families and all our kids in tow. The staff here is always so great at accommodating us and the kids. My husband and I also like to stop in for lunch once in a while or a drink in the evening. The food is great, comfort food, great fries, I've never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. My husband loves the butter chicken, nachos and wings. I love the chicken Caesar wrap, 40 creek chicken club and the beef and Guinness stew. Our son loves the chicken fingers! My mother's favourite when she comes is the cod bites. So many great options for everyone! They often have seasonal cocktails to which are always great. Looking forward to having a pint in the tiny patio if they open it again this year! My boyfriend brought me here for our first date because it's his favourite restaurant and has been going here with his family since he was a kid. It's such a good place to be and the waiters and waitresses are always so welcoming and friendly! The food is great too! They even sell these cute homemade masks at the front. Excellent spot in Elora for a nice dinner. The location is great, near lots of free parking. The pub itself is in a bit of an older building, but perfectly serviceable. The wait staff are attentive and prompt. The food is standard pub fare - my girlfriend got the fish and chips (cod), and I got the Irish beef stew. The portion sizes were average, and the taste/quality was good. What was most outstanding to me was the bartender, Amy, who makes custom cocktails. She asks you a few questions about your alcohol preferences, and then crafts a drink using some fairly unique alcohols! My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our drinks. Kitchen much improved over the years to include the best nachos in a 100 km radius, Indian restaurant quality curry dishes, and many vegetarian options including the daily soups typically made from a veg base. Many theme nights through the week including open jam, trivia, dinner and movie, etc and rotating seasonal brews on tap. Artisan friendly and exposed stone walls show the vintage of the building.
