My husband got the country fried steak, it was dry and tasteless. I got the southwest wrap, full of lettuce only, like 2 random beans at the last bite. Overall, not very good food. I would not recommend coming here. Oh and when we walked in the waiter looked at us when we arrived. Didn't acknowledge us right away. What can improved? This place is a few blocks away from our house - so we tend to go here a few times a month out of convenience. They have bad tasting water, probably unfiltered well water, so my wife often brings her own small cup of tea with her because the tea at this breakfast place upsets her stomach. Today, after we were seated, the waitress told us we aren't allowed to have the tea. We explained to her that we are regulars and the cup of tea is because of their unfiltered well water . She put her foot down and asked us to take it outside and walk it to our car. Mind you it's freezing outside. What made matters worse, we asked to explain the situation to the manager. She said that manager is not here, but made a commotion about it in the back with another staff person. It was loud and rude. We decided to leave . Our Worst experience here, we've eaten here several times before....Service was absolutely terrible from beginning to end, starting with the Hostess & continuing with the Waitress...The Hostess is the first impression that New Customers get of a Restaurant...She wasn't capable of processing much of anything, including people waiting to be seated...and someone she had just seated....I understand that it was a busy day, but it's a relatively small Restaurant that staff shouldn't be overwhelmed. After we were seated, it took way too long for the Waitress to come to our table, passing by a few times, never even saying "I'll be with you shortly, Thanks for your patience"...NOTHING...After taking our order, it took at least 5-10 minutes just to get our (2) glasses of water....Ownership should be aware of this experience and determine what needs to change. read more

The ambiance was great with relaxing music playing, clean and updated interior, great presentation, and VERY friendly staff. Exceptional variety of breakfast and lunch items to choose from in this bright, cheery and clean eatery. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and checked on us periodically. The coffee came hot and fresh. They offer gluten free waffles and pancakes so I ordered the Stuffed Waffles which came with two eggs two meats and fresh fruit with creme anglaise. I was charged $3 extra for gluten free so just be aware because I didn't see that listed on the menu. The portion was huge so I took half home. The only critique I can give is my husband's hash browns were not at all brown so be sure to ask for crispy if you prefer them that way. read more

Went here when they first opened about 5 years ago and only gave them 3 stars. Service has definitely improved. Went around 930am on a Saturday. Not crowded at all. Waitress was very efficient. The restaurant is very clean and bright. Funny thing I ordered the same breakfast I did 5 years ago.the B &G. You still only get 1 biscuit cut in half and undercooked hash browns. I moved to Bartlett a few months ago, and this is one of the only restaurants close to my house (I live by more horses than people practically). Everyone, and I mean everyone, has been the kindest service workers I've ever met. I'm pretty easy to please, but they really go above and beyond. David, Dean, Kathy, Steph, etc., are all amazing. This cozy restaurant really has great people, with tasty food that reminds me of home. I've come by myself in hard times and they're always kind. They remember my brother, and my partner, who have come with me as well. They all are wonderful, and all deserve your kindness and appreciation. I definitely recommend! Eggceptional Cafe really hit the spot on a Sunday morning for a nice family breakfast. It's a local gem! First off, they open early (6:30a) which is key for us as we're very early birds. Naturally, we had the place to ourselves which ended up being great because the service was spectacular! The menu has a little bit of everything and it honestly makes it hard to choose. However, after everyone ordered a little but of everything there was not a complaint to be had! And the portions! WOW. They are HUGE! My 4th grader got the Big Kids plate off the kids menu and it was a perfect amount of food for her, and a little bit of everything- eggs, pancakes, bacon and hash browns. My oldest got the Mexican scrambler with crepes on the side and had leftovers for another meal - they definitely don't skimp on portions! My girls thought the Nutella shakes were good and I had a little macchiato cup of coffee that was good. Overall, food is decent and bacon is done right (I am picky about bacon). This is the second time I have tried to eat at this establishment. The first time was the day after the 4th of July. We went at 6am, as that is the time they open. A sign on the door said they would open at 7 due to the 4th being the day before. Ok, maybe next time. We didn't feel like hanging out for an hour. I entered 3 waitresses at the cash register and not a one spoke or asked if they could seat me? Strange. A young lady nice came from back and smiling and greeted me Amanda. I told her that I had a pick up order and my name. She rung it up. I get home. No whip cream or syrup. But a side of fruit. She said ok i will credit you. She gave me a new receipt with new charges. Then this very very rude lady Evelyn just took over. I said where's the credit this looks like I'm being charged twice. So she then produced another receipt she said why should we credit you. If you are getting the whip cream and syrup. I said why are you charging me for a side order of fruit that I did not order and 2 trips for a pick up order. You guys messed up my order. She said with an attitude I did not mess up ur order. I said not you personally the restaurant. I said no worries I will not be returning. She said good called me rude. No apologies for over charging me and messing up my order. I said we would not be having this conversation if my order was not messed up. I added I know why this restaurant is so empty..AWFUL Service!! WORSE SERVICE that I have encountered in a restaurant. The food was NOT good either! Cute place, RUDE hostess, BAD food. I usually love getting breakfast at a Flappy's when I'm in town. Over the summer the restaurant did a great job handling covid with outdoor seating and distancing. I was happy to see that they had reopened for indoor seating, I do think if they're going to continue seating indoors they need to approach things a bit more safely... Stopped in for breakfast and we were welcomed to a mostly empty restaurant, seated quickly. We ordered coffee and entrees. We asked for a refill on our coffee and the waiter came by with the pot, filled up cups at another table, and then ours, and then another table. They used the same pot to refill multiple cups that had already touched people's mouths, to me that seems like an easy way to spread covid... A few other things that made us uncomfortable: our server accidentally brought our food to the wrong table and then served it to us. The cream and sugar was served in bulk, which I'm sure the next customer will use the same exact stuff we did. They also packed in each booth directly next to us, they did hang up shields in between booths but I'm not sure how effective that is compared to actually distancing the tables. We ended up eating our meals which were delicious, but the whole experience made me uncomfortable, I'd say keep getting food to go... they may not be ready for safe indoor seating yet. read more

There is only one problem maybe two with this restaurant. The food has a beautiful presentation and is very nicely done and the taste is wonderful. The service is where I give it 3 stars. Dean and Victoria are the two people in the front and they act like children all the time. They knocked over the silverware 3x's while I was there and they never sent it back to get washed. They make comments about people under there breath but loud enough for other people to hear. Dean says "that customer is a jerk, so I'm going to call him out on it." Let me know how that'll go over. Outside of these 2 the only other complaint I have is the bus boy. He just doesn't care15mins to clean 2 tables that is ridiculous and Dean gives me attitude he's doing the best he can. really! Haha if you change those 3 things everything should work out better. We had Ricardo for our server and he did pretty good a little slow, but not bad. read more

Ate breakfast with a friend today and the food wasn't great. We got two meals and were each sharing off each other's plate (we got one savory dish and one sweet). The biscuits and gravy were way over salted and the bacon was burnt. The cinnamon roll French toast was good. I was most annoyed when the bill came and we were charged a sharing fee of $2.00 and over charged for our coffee. There was 2 signs at the entrance that said coffee was $.99 M-F from 6-11am. They server told me afterwards that is was an UPCOMING promotion. When I asked her when it was starting. She said she didn't know. Although the rest of the sign did say $5.99 breakfast specials, which they were serving. Asked to speak to a manager, the server left for about 10 minutes and then came back and said there wasn't one there. Very disappointed- will not be going back! read more

Flappys has always had delicious food but their flaw (to this day) has been in execution and service coordination. Ordered some food for Mother's Day (at 7:30a right when they opened). Arrived at Flappys 1st car in parking lot. Waited for over an hour with no response on the phone and no one coming to curbside. Over 10+ cars piled up in the parking lot. Customers started sneaking in to the lobby... when I attempted to go in, I promptly got warned to not go inside by the employee that happened to be walking outside as I approached. A few minutes pass, more customers sneak inside. I know these are COVID times but I feel like other places have handled this more gracefully than Flappys. Ultimately, I left because there was no communication and I was totally in the dark about the status of my order (mind you, when I called in the order I was told it would be 15 minutes!). read more

New breakfast/lunch place that moved into the old Sheep & Fiddle/O'Hare's Pub location. They did a nice job remodeling to turn it into a bright breakfast spot. The menu for breakfast & lunch is quite large. And speaking of large...their portions are seriously big. A 5-egg omelet...seriously? I don't know who needs that kind of a portion but their prices are in line with what you would pay for a 3-egg omelet elsewhere so you are certainly getting more bang for your buck when it comes to an omelet. But, if I remember correctly their skillet & scrambler meals were 3-egg portions and similar pricing to the omelets so I'm not sure what the deal is there. The cubed seasoned breakfast potatoes were the frozen type they fried up so that was a bit disappointing. Tasty? Sure...but not nearly as good as homemade. Neither of us had the hashbrowns so I can't speak to the quality of those. Both our egg dishes were far too greasy/oily so they are using too much in the pan to keep things from sticking. I understand you need some to keep things from sticking but this was definitely in excess. The upside is the veggies and meats in our egg dishes were fresh and plentiful and cooked just right. The pancakes are big and it seemed like they added vanilla to the batter so they really tasted like a cake...quite good. My breakfast came with Cinnamon Swirl French Toast (again, big portions here!) and I took those home...the reheated well the next day and were very good. The service was okay but my coffee cup was empty quite often and I had to wait for refills. read more

I understand that, it's not her fault, she was underage but she said her cook could make the mimosas, (Champagne and orange juice) well I told her we could not taste any champagne in the mimosas once served, so instead, after I told her we were great tippers, if she could just top it off, only a sip was taken, she brought a big glass of champagne, and said she was charging for it instead of asking if she could accommodate with that instead. Today was our first visit to Flappys! We really enjoyed it. The decor is cute, comfy kitchen but modern. All the staff was friendly and smiling (that makes a difference). Our server was Tabitha, she was attentive, helpful and friendly without coming over too much. A great balance and she was super sweet! Their menu is quite large, lots of great choices for a breakfast/lunch place. I had the Texas Scrambler, it was plenty of food for 2! It was fresh and flavorful! It came with a side of homemade cinnamon bread french toast...Yum! My husband had the Crepe combo, with eggs & bacon, he said it was really good! Our first visit and we were very impressed. Friendly service, a menu with lots of interesting choices that you don't see other places and our food was delicious. I had whole grain pancakes with pecans and I asked them to substitute blueberries for the raisins. They were excellent. They tasted homemade, not the usual mix flavor that I find at almost every restaurant nowadays. They had lots of blueberries & pecans and they were inside pancakes as well as on top. My husband had the The Sauteed from the Tex Mex menu. He loved the flavorful eggs and the sausages were delicious. The bacon was thick cut and the swirl bread French toast was an unusual side instead of toast. We both liked the seasoned cubed potatoes. Service was mixed. It started out excellent but it was a Saturday morning and things got very busy before we left. Everyone was pleasant but towards the end we had to wait a while for check and our togo boxes...you definitely need togo boxes! The people at the table behind us were complaining about the slow service. They came in about the time things got busy. They seemed to have lots of help. Everyone working to help serve coffee and see that we got what we needed. Maybe the kitchen was getting backed up. Lots of food for a reasonable price. Will definitely go back again for breakfast. We like to go out for breakfast and have tried so many places in the area and they all seem mediocre with similar menus. The lunch menu also looked interesting. I only gave 4 stars because we have only been there once and we will have to see if service improves. Again, the service was friendly and at times very quick. For example our waitress accidentally spilled a little water on the floor and someone came almost immediately to wipe it up. I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars.
