    THE TRUFFLE CRUNCH BURGER*
    Meriya S.

This was the first time my husband and I trying the place. We ordered -1 Nashville Hottie -1 Truffle Crunch Burger (no bun so they substituted it with arugula) -2 sides of beer-battered potatoes. Everything was pretty good overall. The portions weren't very large, but the flavors were tasty and satisfying. The restaurant has plenty of seating. I think because it wasn't too crowded when I visited, though I've heard from my friend that it can get pretty busy at times. I'll definitely go back again for sure!

A solid return visit with consistent flavor and great service. Came back to Egg Bread for lunch with BB after our first visit and decided to try a couple different items. We ordered the ribeye grilled cheese sandwich and the Nashville chicken sandwich. Both were really flavorful and well made. The ribeye grilled cheese stood out with its rich flavor, and the Nashville chicken had a nice kick. I also got the blood orange juice again, which continues to be a favorite. Service was great -- friendly, quick, and consistent. Overall, another good experience here. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

Eggbred just opened up in San Pablo and I was very excited to try! This type of restaurant looks like the kind you'd find in cities down in LA, SF, SJ area, so it's really nice to have something trendy like this down here! I got Scramble Me Softly because it reminded me of EggSlut's Fairfax sandwich and I am always craving EggSlut haha! The sandwich here is very similar and includes the same ingredients. The eggs were nice and fluffy, though I wish there was more filling. I also tried Benny on the Rocks, which had all the fixings of an eggs benedict, but on beer battered potatoes! That was a nice twist and the egg was cooked perfectly. The Country Fried Chicken comes with a side of country sausage gravy and elevates the sandwich. Without it, it just tastes like any other chicken sandwich. Service was quick, considering it was their grand opening, and we ordered 4 items. The staff were friendly and provided some recommendations on what their favorite items were. They also offered us extra beer battered potatoes while we waited for our order. I got to sample some salsas and they tasted really fresh; my favorite is the green salsa! I'm assuming they're for the breakfast burritos. The menu is very big, so there are a lot options to choose from. I'll definitely be back to try the other items! I'm looking forward to building my own eggs benedict next time and also try their breakfast burritos!

My friend invited me to check out this place with him. They just recently opened up with their grand opening today. I have looked online and most locations are in So Cal and other states. They were not too busy at 10 am when I showed up and the staff were very nice. Ordering was easy and simple as well. Though the menu was pretty vast, I had in mind what I wanted to order already. The Ben Franklin: Just think of an Egg's Benedict as a sandwich. Comes with Arugula, an egg, Black Forest ham and their signature bread. The Hollandaise sauce was on the side. Overall, the sandwich was delicious. It was not too salty and the bread was crunchy. The ham was good and the egg maintained its shape. I am glad the sauce was on the side because my sandwich was already naturally messy. I am not entirely sure what sauce it was from, since my Hollandaise was on the side and I used it as a dipper. Still, I found it enjoyable. The potatoes were also good. Overall, I had a good experience. The Hollandaise was on point, so that was a plus for me. I'll probably try the eggs Benny next time I visit this place.

While in town I was itching to try this trending breakfast sandwich place considering the promising reviews I have been seeing. Pretty easy to get to being situated near freeway and with tons of parking at this grocery store plaza/strip mall. The inside is pretty cute, with the egg theme clearly dripping throughout the space, from the the egg shell-inspired wall design to the knock-off gudetama character artwork to the white and yellow seats and tables, my cholesterol shot up quickly upon entering. We ordered something simple: the bacon egg and cheese and an avocado toast. When I got my sandwich, I was a bit disappointed however; it was a little bit smaller than I had hoped - it had a simple thin fried egg that was slightly runny and bacon that was a bit off from crispy, although they did have quite a bit of bacon. It says that it has a jalapeño ketchup but it really just tasted like plain old Heinz, which is good don't get me wrong but didn't blow me away. For 10 bucks, it definitely felt like something I could reasonably make at home, and I make breakfast sandwiches pretty often enough. The avocado toast that my partner got however was a bit better. Loaded with fresh tomatoes chives and chimichurri, it had some pretty good toppings and lots of avocado. She ordered poached eggs for it though and it could have been executed better. It looked like not all of the egg white finished cooking and was watery and running all over the minute you even put a knife to it. Either it was undercooked or using older eggs, I can't be sure, but it was a clear letdown for an otherwise interesting dish. Ultimately I am not sure if I came on a bad day or needed to choose some of the other sandwiches (which from pictures do look more impressive and filling especially some of the fried chicken sandwiches), but I can't say it was anything more than average experience wise.

Checked out this spot in San Pablo, this is a late review. I got an order to go, they were very helpful on suggestions for first timers. The food was good. They do have a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Some that are unique. I will have to give them another try, since I wanted something different and I was in a hurry to order. Good spot to have a food establishment that is locally owned.

A new egg sandwich spot in the area is pretty rare, so it's exciting to see something like this open up for the community. Service was okay so far, but I'm hoping they'll get into the groove as they settle in. The food itself is good, though the portion sizes on some items could be a bit more for the price. That said, I do appreciate the effort they put into preparing and serving everything. There's also a big seating area, which makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy breakfast sandwiches and other menu items.

The best breakfast in the Bay! Easy online ordering. Friendly staff. Beautiful graphics on the interior walls make it feel like breakfast heaven! An extensive menu to choose from, with items not available at other places. Great value as well! $$ Their lunch options are also exquisite as well. You have to try EggBred soon! It does not matter what you order. Everything you receive will be outstanding! I can't wait to go back next weekend. Today i ordered the breakfast Poutine. Definitely five stars.

    CHORIZO CHILI CHEESE HASH
    Tiff P.

It is always very eggciting to try a new restaurant. I ordered the truffle burger, limited time only ribeye asada chopped cheese toastie, and chirozo chili cheese hash. Starting off with the truffle burger, I was not impressed. I did not taste truffle and the burger was just bland. The ribeye asada chopped cheese toastie was delicious and I really hope it becomes apart of the permanent menu. Lastly the chirozo chili cheese hash was also really good too. It was really flavorful and a good amount of chirozo. Overall, I would dine here again but next time I will try breakfast.

    Scramble me softly

Cute new place that just opened, airy and bright and love the decorations. First time here I tried the scramble me softly sandwich. Eggs were good, slightly runny and seasoned well. Very messy tho but well worth it so get lots of napkins! Helpful service at the ordering counter and fast cook time. Will definitely come back

Scramble Me Softly Beer Battered Potatoes

I had the chance to visit Eggbred on opening day, and wow -- what an incredible addition to the San Pablo food scene. From the moment you walk in, the place feels alive. The vibrant lighting creates a fun, modern atmosphere that instantly puts you in a good mood, and the staff could not have been more welcoming. Everyone was friendly, patient, and genuinely excited to serve customers, which made the experience feel special right away. The menu offers a great variety of breakfast options, especially for anyone who loves hearty morning comfort food. The breakfast burritos are packed, flavorful, and satisfying -- perfect if you're looking for something filling to start your day. But the real star of the visit was the "Scramble Me Softly" breakfast sandwich. This thing is next-level. The runny scrambled eggs are perfectly soft and creamy, layered with fresh chives, deeply sweet caramelized onions, and sharp cheddar that melts beautifully into every bite. The smoky paprika spread adds just the right amount of warmth and depth, tying all the flavors together. And the fluffy Japanese milk bun? Absolute perfection -- soft, slightly sweet, and sturdy enough to hold everything without falling apart. Every bite felt balanced and intentional. You also have to order the beer-battered potatoes. They come out with an amazing crisp on the outside while staying soft inside, finished with a light dash of paprika that adds just enough seasoning without overpowering the natural potato flavor. Easily one of the best breakfast sides I've had in a while. Between the welcoming staff, lively ambiance, and seriously impressive food, Eggbred absolutely nailed its opening day. If this is how they start, San Pablo has a new breakfast favorite on its hands. I'll definitely be back -- and bringing friends next time.

Eggs Benedict LOADED Burrito - The Benny Burrito

Great spot located in a busy strip mall. The staff greeted all guest when you arrive. Kitchen staff was busy making some outstanding food. I enjoyed the Eggs bene burrito which was delicious, also ordered was make your own biscuit meal also delicious. I thought reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. If you are in the area and want a great breakfast I would stop here!

Typically always grab sandwiches to-go, but pre-pandemic this spot was always bustling inside. While the Mr.Pickle (chicken breast, bacon, avo, cheese) is our typical order, I noticed on this lunch trip they now have wraps/any sando can be made into a wrap. I ordered a Cali Tuna (tuna salad, Swiss cheese, avo, cucumber) in a spinach tortilla..delicious! Fresh, crisp, and felt like it came from an old school mom and pop deli...man, how I miss those! Each wrap/Sando comes with the "works" which essentially is mayo, mustard, garlic sauce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncini, lettuce and pickles..the garlic sauce is delish and kinda their thing! Also to note, they offer veggie and vegan options, and salads. Kiddo menu too! We have a soft spot for their old school mac salad found in the fridge, and their chip varieties. There is something about that feeling you get when you walk into a sandwich spot that is just indescribable..guess I'm just a forever fan of local shops franchise or not. This location has street parking out front (or if push comes to shove, park in the shopping center next door and walk over). Hearty sandwiches, fair pricing, fun interior, smiles upon entry, and just a really cool, well-oiled machine :)

A true hidden gem right at the bottom of Solano Ave in Albany!…read more I'm embarrassed to admit that Picnic has been around for about 5 years in the east bay and I've just tried it for the first time this week. But I'm so glad I was finally introduced to it. The staff greet you promptly when you enter and you can even watch them work effortlessly together in the open prep-station behind the counter. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it. They also sell whole smoked quail that are seasoned heavily yet each bite has just the right amount of smokiness, spices, and salt. Their hot food items and sandwiches are perfect for a quick lunch during your break from work or on your way home. There are also a few counter seats if you want to enjoy your meal there. So far I've tried the smoked quail, the Muffaletta sandwich, and their green lentil soup with chicken + veg. The sandwich was filled to the brim and each bite was a flavor bomb. The lentil soup was very comforting & paired well with the smoked quail. I'm looking forward to trying everything they have to offer.

They were very happy with their arugula salads. I ordered the mac n cheese which was okay. Even though I grew up in El Cerrito, I sometimes feel like my NorCal green card has expired. I've lost touch with my small batch, organic self. (Although I have never liked arugula) This store is adorable and just the kind of independent neighborhood place that should be frequented and appreciated. Unfortunately I also had to use the bathroom and they don't have one for customers. So they recommended walking a block away to the BevMo. So I guess that added some negative feelings.
