Best place for a quick bite or weekend brunch/lunch. Their food is great and ambiance is very cute and friendly. Prices are so reasonable. Menu option are good. Service is amazing!! our goto place for friend's hangout in Yorkville. Their Shakshuka is the bestttt!!

Stopped by Effy's Cafe at 1688 York Avenue for a late breakfast and ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette with home fries and wheat toast. The home fries, seasoned with rosemary, scallions and thyme, stole the show. Great flavor! The restaurant has numerous tables inside and a few outside. Service was prompt and friendly, and I would definitely return.

Had such a great experience at Effy's Cafe! We were looking for a new casual breakfast cafe in the neighborhood and came across Effy's. We must have walked in right on time on this Sunday morning, because the closer it got to noon, the more crowded the place became. First impression: The place is super cute and cozzy. The staff are so friendly. Looks like a lot of people from the neighborhood come here and love it! Portions were pretty big. Definitely did not leave hungry. The house coffee was SO yummy! I'm happy we found this place and am excited to come back!

We came here for brunch. Coffee was good. Overall, food was good. Servers were somewhat disconnected from customers, taking their time to return to the tables. Perhaps because they were too busy. The interior decor is clean and inviting. They had a few tables outside for those wanting to dine outdoors.

Absolutely love Effy's Cafe! The coffee was excellent, the Avocado Toast Platter were delicious, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the relaxed vibe makes it a perfect neighborhood gem. Highly recommend!

Sometimes you finish dinner with a friend, but you don't want to go home. You don't want drinks, but you need a place to burn some time. This is the place my friend and I chose when in UES. Food: 3.5/5 The food here is not bad, just okay. The vegetable farro soup, beet salas, and spiced gauc were okay. They had a nice combo if you order 3 items so, we did. The food are prepared promptly and we were content. The vibe is pretty chill. Service: 5/5 Shout out to the servicer here because I appreciate when they are honest. We came close to closing and they made sure to make sure we knew. The kitchen closes before the doors do so, don't be that person. She was so kind to my friend and I, rushing us, as she should because we decided to stop by. Thank you a bunch! All in all, I am not coming here for a culinary experience. But, I do want to munch on some food while talking to a friend. The service here is super great and if I am around why not visit again?

Effy's was a great Kosher Mediterranean establishment. It's a hidden gem in the upper east side with indoor and outdoor seating. I got the california omelette and it was exceptionally large and tasty. My wife got the challah french toast that she thoroughly enjoyed. My mother-in-law got the green shakshuka, which was a table favorite and my father-in-law got the bagel with smoked salmon that made him smile. The service was good but they only have a couple of servers so be patient. The ambience was intimate as it's a small place but they give you plenty of room in-between tables. Overall, we will be back as my wife can't stop talking about the french toast!

Came to this UES brunch spot on a Saturday around noon after book club as a group of 10 girls. We got really lucky and they were thankfully able to seat us right away! The place was full shortly after. Everything looked yummy when it came to our table. I ordered the Energy Wrap, which was filling and came with delicious home fries! I recommend asking for hot sauce to give the wrap a lil somethin' more! I paired my meal with an ice coffee to top it off. The prices here are pretty affordable for NYC and the staff were fantastic. Lovely bright, neighborhood spot in the UES. Looking forward to returning again!

We had a fabulous lunch at Effy's Cafe thanks to our wonderful server, Valerie, who recommended wonderful dishes. Their French Toast is super delicious as sell as sll their salads. Effy's is a pet friendly restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. The interior is also very picturesque and even their bathroom is spotless with great photos.

Cute and relaxing spot to grab breakfast. Lovely service! She was taking care of the whole restaurant herself with seven tables! Had the chai latte which was delightful and the power wrap which was filling! Never tried beyond meat before.. interesting. I didn't even get to my second half. Home fries were good. Would definitely like to return and try more!

Food was great and it is never too busy. However after 3 times there, I didn't return after seeing mice scurry around the dining area.

The quality and taste of the soy sauce was better than average. The salmon and tuna tacos were made exceptionally well, with super fresh raw salmon and raw tuna, and extra crispy taco shells. The nikkei acevichado sauce blends beautifully with the avocado, lime, pickled radish, and cilantro. This entire combination complemented the raw fish, and brought it to the next level. I had a glass of the drappier carte d'or from the sparkling wine list and it paired perfectly. The drink was light, very sparkly, and refreshing. It balanced the rich avocado and the fatty fish very well. The restaurant has a bar area and a main dining area. It has the ambiance of a standard upscale Midtown restaurant.

We started with mushroom and truffle empanadas and then had the sushi rolls - everything was fresh and delicious. One downside was the condition of the ladies room - to put it nicely it was disgusting. My sister changed her mind about using it after going inside. Other than that I would recommend giving them a try.

Cocktails are a little heavy on the sweetness, but the food is delicious and dessert is insane. Never had key lime pie like that in my life. Pro tip - would go duck breast over duck confit, although both were fantastic. The rack of lamb was also divine. Only criticism is that service could use some improvement, a few of our appetizers were incorrect & we felt rushed to leave at the end. But otherwise no notes, would highly recommend that anyone check this place out.

Passed hors d'oeuvres included beef carpaccio, ahi tuna tostadas, short rib gnocchi, and patatas bravas. For dinner, we were given a choice of three appetizers: roasted caufliower, lamb riblets, or brussel sprouts with lamb bacon; a choice of four entrees: duck confit risotto, ora king salmon with coconut curry, tournedos au poivre, or cote do boeuf. The three dessert options were apple streudel, affogato "al caffe", and key lime pie. I ordered brussel sprouts, duck, and key lime pie, and Eric R. got lamb riblets, ora king salmon, and apple streudel. I think he regretted offering me a lamb riblet because it was ridiculously tender and melted in my mouth. What is truly amazing is this is a meat restaurant, so the ice cream, risotto, gnocchi, and other dishes that we think of as dairy-based were non-dairy, and still completely amazing! It was definitely the fanciest kosher restaurant I have even been to in my life. The restaurant was so packed that we could not hear most of the speeches, which were given into a microphone attached to a small speaker near the bride's and groom's family's table. I do not fault the restaurant for its popularity though! The menu is really fun so I think it would be cool to return here for a special occasion. It is also located in midtown Manhattan which is very convenient for transportation. B'teavon!
