I have been here twice, the first time I came in for the avo toast which is possibly the best avo toast I've ever had. The second thing was the egg salad sandwich which was just okay, I think I could make a better one at home. The vibes in here are cute and the staff is really nice. It does take a minute to prepare but nothing crazy. The biggest downside to here in my eyes is the prices are a little steep for what you're getting. First time here, well for me at least, my boyfriend has been here many times so he wanted to take me here to tried. We opted out to just share one pita sandwich (it is HUGE) and perfect for us. Now I'm giving the pita sandwich a 6.7/10 since the egg took over the sandwich, couldn't 't really taste the eggplant so I told my bf that if we get this next time, no eggs. Other than that, the tahini added more flavors once I took the egg out of my half. I got full off of a half pita, they really stuffed it (which is a good thing), should have order some balava too. Yes they have balava. Definitely, getting that for a sweet treat and a cup of ice coffee. Services was wonderful, staff was friendly and even told my bf to sign up for points since he does come there often. Also, side note, it's the hot sauce brand name, when he told me I was like the hot sauce has a restaurant? So it's not the same. Can't wait to come back and try out dishes. Cute little place with 4 small tables and a few seats along the window. The avocado toast was delicious with crumbled feta, chopped tomato and parsley. It had an unexpected but delicious hint of orange. And don't forget the side of tomato salsa (not sure what to call it) with a Mediterranean taste. Turkish or Moroccan music in the background. Mellow Yellow brings so much joy to my life. I am serious when I say this place is perfect. I go here frequently and it has literally never disappointed. The vibes inside are absolutely incredible with the music and the singing. The staff is absolutely wonderful everytime we come. It does not matter what you get here you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for authentic Israeli food this is the place to go!! The borekas are so great and so is the shashukah!! In fact everything that I had there was delicious. I spoke with the owner on my last visit and she was unbelievably sweet, I told her I was there for my husband's cancer treatment at MSK and that he was Israeli and she gave me some desserts to bring to him in the hospital. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. for brunch. We both ended up ordering the Jerusalem Bagel, which came with hummus, mashed avocado, egg salad, and labne. All of the spreads were delicious, particularly the hummus and the labne. I wish the menu had a bit more variety, since almost everything was a variation of a pita sandwich or Shakshuka. The cashier (possibly the manager) was really nice and friendly. There are a few tables inside, but the interior is pretty small. I happened to go on their one year anniversary so I got a free slice of baklava in celebration. Food is quite yummy. Service very fast. Free wifi but no laptop policy on weekends. A few outlets. I like that this has cafe vibes but has actual meals/food as opposed to just pastries, which a lot of cafes serve. Israeli place with music playing in Hebrew, not too loud so good ambiance for focusing with background cafe/kitchen chatter. There is wifi here (thats relatively fast), and plenty of seating! Again, this is a very solid place to get some work done. I did not try any of the food, but it did look scrumptious. The seating is nice and comfortable (with plenty of couch pillows and soft seating). The shop is very well decorated and well kept. I am a big fan of all the greenery and decorations. Very cute looking shop. This insanely bright yellow cafe amidst the sea of boring upper east side buildings was very welcome and a correct indication of the bright vibes inside. It's extremely cozy, with coffee, tea, smoothie, and food selections, which was way more than I was expecting. I wasn't too hungry, so I got an iced chai latte and a mushroom boureka. The employee behind the cashier was so kind and threw in a chocolate croissant for free since they saw I was eyeing it. The iced chai was different from usual chais--it was slightly on the milky side, but I loved the flavor of the spices that were inside and would definitely go for it again. The boureka and croissant also tasted great and were the perfect snack. Cafe vibes are the hardest thing to nail down, especially in a city with tons of cafes, and mellow yellow has that DOWN. Cute cafe! Decor feels very European. Came here for a small bite and cold drink on a hot day. It closes by 6pm so it's a breakfast, lunch or snack place. I had the shakshuka platter that included a round warm pita. I could see steam as I ripped the pita. The shakshuka came in a thin pot with a handle. The pita tasted good on its own, but even better dipped in the tomato sauce. It looks small, but was filling. For an iced drink, I had the Morroccan mint tea.
