We came for afternoon coffee. The interior decor is unique with its skateboard theme. The staff was friendly.

Amazing, cozy, and warm place to have breakfast or lunch. The food is exceptionally authentic! Takes me back to my travels throughout the Mediterranean. We ordered the Shakshuka, Jerusalem bagel platter, and Hummus Sabich - all were amazing but the Shakshuka was the winner! The Jerusalem bagel and pita were so delicious and fluffy. Coffee and drinks were fantastic as well.

First time here, well for me at least, my boyfriend has been here many times so he wanted to take me here to tried. We opted out to just share one pita sandwich (it is HUGE) and perfect for us. Now I'm giving the pita sandwich a 6.7/10 since the egg took over the sandwich, couldn't 't really taste the eggplant so I told my bf that if we get this next time, no eggs. Other than that, the tahini added more flavors once I took the egg out of my half. I got full off of a half pita, they really stuffed it (which is a good thing), should have order some balava too. Yes they have balava. Definitely, getting that for a sweet treat and a cup of ice coffee. Services was wonderful, staff was friendly and even told my bf to sign up for points since he does come there often. Also, side note, it's the hot sauce brand name, when he told me I was like the hot sauce has a restaurant? So it's not the same. Can't wait to come back and try out dishes. The place isn't big, a couple of tables and great place for a little date lunch / coffee or to do a little work during the weekdays.

A cute and really delicious cafe in the Upper East side! We went on New Year's Day and it was very crowded, so you may have to be prepared to wait to get a table if it's busy. The food was delicious but the chai tea latte was my favorite part of the meal! Would definitely recommend

Great coffee shop with a friendly owner. It's a neighborhood fav judging from how many people frequent it and work on the laptops.

Mellow Yellow brings so much joy to my life. I am serious when I say this place is perfect. I go here frequently and it has literally never disappointed. The vibes inside are absolutely incredible with the music and the singing. The staff is absolutely wonderful everytime we come. It does not matter what you get here you will not be disappointed. Our go to is chamshuka and the za'atar pita and add egg. Me and my girlfriend share both and it's just a perfect morning. I can not state this enough THIS PLACE IS PERFECT!

Mellow Yellow is what I call a neighborhood local owned business. I've been coming here for years. It's still five stars in my book. You can read my previous review and check out my photos. As soon as the weather stabilizes I'm going back. It's a inviting welcoming and cozy atmosphere.

Jerusalem Bagel with spreads (clockwise from top: avocado spread, egg salad, labne, hummus)

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. for brunch. We both ended up ordering the Jerusalem Bagel, which came with hummus, mashed avocado, egg salad, and labne. All of the spreads were delicious, particularly the hummus and the labne. I wish the menu had a bit more variety, since almost everything was a variation of a pita sandwich or Shakshuka. The cashier (possibly the manager) was really nice and friendly. There are a few tables inside, but the interior is pretty small. I imagine it's not always possible to sit and eat if the cafe gets busy!

We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.
