Nice little coffee shop on a side street of the upper side that makes delicious coffee that has great snacks

Expensive coffee place on the upper east side. Cute little vibe inside, but still pricey and actually very little. No more than 3 people can comfortably wait inside. Only one individual was working behind the counter, so things were a little slow. I went at ~1:30/2 on a Monday, and they were running a BOGO pastry deal. Ordered the following: Two medium cappuccinos - I think with almond milk, they came out to ~$8 each. Crazy. Bitter and watery, too Almond pain au chocolat - actually very good. Would recommend. Chocolate chip cookie - good for a not freshly baked cookie. Would order again Apple turnover - great. Not too sweet Regular croissant - would avoid. Tasted like something from Costco read more

I've gone here a couple of times using Too good to go - awesome they're helping fight food waste. Definitely have to go another time to support this great business. The service is impeccable and both the very friendly and pleasant owner and her son make it such a great experience. Their food is always fresh and quite delicious. A Local Gem with Parisian Charm Just moved into the neighborhood and stumbled upon Café Bieriot--what a find. The interior is cozy and inviting, the sidewalk seating always has someone enjoying their coffee, and the vibe is just right. The owner was warm and welcoming, and made me a fantastic latte. I had the croissant, which was warm, flaky, and just the right texture--not too greasy, not too dense. Very well done. Prices are exactly what you'd expect for the area, and the food and drink options make this a perfect neighborhood spot for breakfast or lunch. I stopped in for a quick break and tried the carrot cake muffin called "morning glory" for 3 dollars--sweet and tasted just like something homemade. I also had a coffee, which was pretty standard but satisfying. They have a nice range of drink options beyond coffee, including a chai latte, turmeric chai, matcha, and more. Standard city prices about 6-7 do The space is small and cozy, with room for about 10-15 people inside. It's dark and quaint indoors, which might feel charming in the evening, but during the day I found myself wishing for a bit more sunlight. There are a few outdoor tables, so it's a decent option if you're solo and just want a quiet spot. Most of the pastries were sold out by the time I arrived, which I'll take as a good sign--they looked great and probably go fast for a reason. Service was amazing! The barista was very kind and openly expressed how happy she was that we popped in. The prices aren't bad, they're pretty typical. However, the drinks tasted terrible. I ordered an iced americano with a little sugar-free vanilla syrup. The taste was just strange, like an odd spoiled sour flavor. I ended up tossing it after forcing myself to drink a bit of it. My friend got the mango matcha and the drink refused to mix at all. I didn't try it so I cannot comment on the flavor, but my friend also ended up tossing about 3/4 of it. Because we were on a schedule, we did have to leave right after getting the drinks. But perhaps if we could've stayed longer, something could've been done to make the drinks taste better. She is filled with so much joy and can't help to smile while conversating with her. I have gotten their drip coffee a couple of times and it's been really good! So I keep coming back! It has been doing business for last five years or so but it's my first time visiting here while waiting on my hair stylist next door, Tokuyama UES on the 83rd street. Wanted to give this local place a try instead of Starbucks or blank street. I had just gotten off a jog and had my AirPods in and wanted a quick coffee. Unfortunately, was not able to complete my order. The barista was extremely rude to me and bullied me about ordering while having my AirPods in. Mind you I did not have any music or the AirPods turned on. I asked her to repeat something in which she assumed I was not listening to her because my AirPods were in. Great little Cafe within walking distance from the MET! Very limited seating option inside with a couple more tables outside. The place is small but very cozy to relax, work, or meet up with a friend! After 5pm, all party items are buy 1 get 1 free, so was a nice treat for our group! Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, but the coffee was mediocre at best. Espresso in the cappuccino wasn't strong enough to taste.

If looks could kill... This coffee shop is no less than a gorgeous art gallery. Moment u step in, it gives u a feel of an entirely different world. It's a family run business by a couple, we met the wife who seems to be super nice and hospitable. They serve great quality coffee and large variety of pastries, croissants and quiches, makes for a good breakfast option at UES. Only problem being the older place is small with limited seating capacity outdoors. Got to be lucky to grab an empty spot. read more

Let me start by saying the woman who made my beverage was very nice, but the beverages---oh honey no. I'm fairly certain my drink was all milk and sugar. This is no place for the coffee aficionado. I don't consider myself one..but I could not stomach more than 2 sips. As a heads up, the chai tea is made with that synthetic tasting powder people get on Amazon. Lastly, this wouldn't be a big deal--sometimes coffee isn't great; however, if you're paying $9 for a coffee with REGULAR milk...it needs to at least be edible. I expect spending $7 on coffee in the UES and usually it's at least okay--but this was just painful. There was also nowhere to sit--there was two tables, but they were 'reserved' This isn't a fancy place so I don' know what that was about. Would not recommend unless you're looking for a cup of milk. read more

Cafe Bleriot on East 83rd Street was an accidental find. It's highly rated but I am having a hard time writing this review because of uncomfortable vibes coming from and something that was said to me by the employee behind the counter. This particular day I was looking for a light meal to take home for my brunch. The Cafe caught my eye from across the street. I thought I had visited in the past. I saw the fairly extensive menu in the window and figured I surely would find something to eat. The quiche sounded great. When I entered I was amazed at how cute the place was and the decor was old fashioned homelike. I noticed the lighting immediately too. The place is very appealing to your eyes. I was greeted with a unsmiling face that peeped out from behind the counter. "May I help you". I definitely was excited asking how long they had been here and saying I can't believe I haven't seen the cafe before. I was told it's been here a long time. I had already been taking lots of photos and I said I would like to post them on Yelp. It was a good time since I was the only customer there. When we were talking she gave me the business card and appeared to dismiss me like her job was done. I started looking over the pastries and telling her what I wanted to eat. Basically anything with cheese and spinach. She mentioned things that I said I was allergic to and sweet items. She had a ham and cheese croissant that looked good but one Ham and Cheese croissant a week is enough for me. When I was hesitating trying to decide she interrupted with, for lack of a better word, advice about my behavior. She proceeded to tell me what I should or should not be doing when I enter a business. I was so deflated in spirit and felt like I was two years old being chastised by an adult. At that point I agreed with her and found a way to close the conversation and exit. I'm not sure why I'm giving this place three stars. I think it's because I may not have communicated clearly about the menu. Bottom line her out of the blue criticism gave me a lasting uncomfortable feeling about this business. If I could have given Café Blériot XI at 226 E 83rd St, NYC zero stars, I would have! Red flag #1.The woman took a very long time to come to from the back of the restaurant. Red flag #2. When she finally came to the front, she said, "what do you want?" Third and final red flag...After picking up my dinner from Café Blériot XI, I arrive home to Bklyn only to find mold on my sandwich. Note, I had pre-ordered my food through an app, otherwise, I would have left the restaurant at red flag #2. Mold on food can indeed be a health hazard. Mold is a type of fungus that grows on various surfaces, including food. It produces spores that can spread and contaminate other parts of the food, making it unsafe to consume. WiFi was free with purchase and there are two little tables and accessible outlets if needed. Americano and pastry were tasty and reasonably priced. I would have preferred a mug instead of a paper cup as I was sitting down. There is also a full menu with salads, soups and sandwiches that I'll have to try. WiFi connection was perfect. There's literally only seating for no more than four people total. I came midday and was happy to have the place to myself.
