Just a little review update for my beloved Effervescence, one of my top five woman-owned businesses in NOLA, as we close out WHM. It's my favorite splurge in town, so when my birthday weekend rolled around, this is where I chose to spend it... with a vegan cheese wheel (the dates that come with should be eaten at the same time as the cheese and you'll feel like you're eating some caramelized magic. And when Mardi Gras Day rolled around a couple weeks later, as per my tradition, we had brunch here. Their legendary popcorn is the stuff of the gods and paired with champagne, I can't think of a better breakfast of champions. Thank you, Effervescence for all your greatness. read more

I was very pleased with my experience at Effervescence. The Champagnes were exceptionally well priced (less than 2x retail), which was a pleasant surprise. They were out of quite a few bottles, but there was still a wide selection. The service was very thoughtful, with the owner serving most of the tables herself. She was even kind enough to give us free glasses of Champagne while our bottle cooled. You will feel cared for here. The real standout though was the food. We had caviar topped deviled eggs, caviar serving, and a wheel of deliciously melted cheese. Everything was gorgeously presented and Instagram worthy. The deviled eggs were incredible. My sister said they were one of the best things she's eaten and she's not a fan of deviled eggs. The caviar was great (of course). The cheese was also excellent and included dates that were remarkably good. The ambiance is very cute. Simple and clean aesthetics that are refined but lightly adorned. This is my 7th time visiting NOLA, and Effervescence is now one of my favorite places in NOLA. read more

My mom and I popped in here for a snack. It's super unassuming from the outside but a beautiful space on the inside! The staff was friendly and I love that they use champs cages as napkin rings. My mom and I shared a beautiful tomato salad, which I'm not seeing on the menu now; perhaps it's seasonal? It was delicious. We also got the grilled half-wheel of cheese. We got the brillat-savarin, which we met in NOLA and have been obsessed with ever since. I got a few different glasses of bubbles, all were delicious of course. Definitely recommend! read more

The Mrs. and I had dinner last night at Effervescence. She had been wanting to try caviar so I thought why not try it in New Orleans. I've had caviar before. It can be a stuffy and pretentious experience so I was looking for something that was more approachable than the usual white apron and bow tie experience. We arrived at Effervescence early in the evening. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get seated right away. The hostess gave us the wine and champagne list, which is one if the most extensive I've seen as it relates to champagne, but also let us know that if we wanted regular cocktails they can make them for us. Indeed ordered a Templeton Rye Manhattan and the Mrs. ordered a Bombay Sapphire Martini. Both were beautifully crafted ad my Manhattan was one of the smoothest I've had. The hostess, who I think is one of the owners, stopped by to check on us. Then we discussed caviar. Since it was the Mrs.'s first time the hostess went over the three options available to us. Some caviar can taste overly fishy and the consistency can be kind of grainy or make you think you're chomping on pellets. We chose the Kaluga Caviarr which are large charcoal grey eggs that can best be described as buttery. I previously had caviar that was served on bilinis. This seems to be the norm but not the rule. Effervescence is a little more casual in their approach in that they serve it with house potato chips(both regular and spicy) as well as the usual crème fraiche and chives. It was wonderful! Eating caviar off of potato chips takes away the pretentiousness of the whole experience but so does the atmosphere at Effervescence. It isn't stuffy or pretentious. You can dress casual and you don't have to order champagne if you don't want to. Thus, going against the caviar code. For dessert we had the Stawberry and Pistachio Rosewater Chantilly Cream for dessert. FYI-last night was the last time it will be on the menu. It was probably the best dessert I've ever had. The service we received from Dylan and the rest of the staff was incredible. We were left alone and not rushed. Effervescence sits in the outskirts of the French Quarter. It was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel and can easily be walked to from anywhere in the French Quarter. read more

Love our time here!! A nice break away from the craziness of NOLA. Great bubbly selection and some of the best gulf oysters I've had! We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and we're able to get a seat for 2 at the bar. We both orders a few gulf oysters and the champagne flight! Great event venue on North Rampart. Love the indoor/outdoor spaces. The garden patio with the water fountain was so peaceful and relaxing. The appetizers and passed light bites were delicious. Loved the caviar bites served on a potato chip. The truffled fries served in a cup were hot and crispy. The table filled with appetizers was a nice touch. It was like a never ending app table as the treats kept getting refilled. Brussels sprouts were served on a skewer. Perfect bite, a bit addictive. Delicious deviled eggs, crab legs and olives rounded out the savory selections. Who doesn't love a macaron tower? Chocolate. Pistachio. Rose water. Lemon. Take one...and then another sweet bite. Yum! Although they are known for their creative cocktails, the mock-tails were so delicious and refreshing. Wish I knew how they were made. This place is truly an AMAZING hidden gem! Service: on point. Not a moment went by we didn't feel attended to. Drinks: unreal! We were finally able to order some French 75s, then because of the lack of attention we just paid out and left. Effervescence was such a highlight of our NOLA trip! In a city full of food and drink, this classy wine bar at the edge of the French Quarter is several cuts above in quality and service. The Champagne/sparking wine list is truly top-tier, and the food is A-MAZING. We are total bubbleheads and were delighted with flight options and new pours to try. The Chardonnay Showdown (absolute quality, well beyond the everyday) was our fave, but we also loved the Destination Bubbly (unique, delicious, adventurous), and if we had been in the mood for sparkling rose that day, we would have loved that flight, too. But even if you are not a Champagne superfan, there is lots to taste and try, including cocktails and still wine. And if you want to up your bubbly game, this is the place to do it. AMAZING. I've visited NOLA before and recently returned for my bachelorette party. We explored every tourist attraction (swamp tour, "world's best" bars, burlesque shows, James Beard restaurants, and more), and this experience was by far our favorite. Lovvvvvveree Effervescence!! It's such a cute spot to go get drinks with your girls or do a date night nightcap. You have dining on the inside or the outside. They also host movie nights where they put the screen on outside. I still can't believe that I tried caviar for the first time! Our waiter did an awesome job at describing each option for caviar. This one in particular was the less fishy of the three. I've recently got really into red wines specifically Cabernet Sauvignon! It's a huge glass with a really nice pour! Each time, I stopped here before heading to another dinner spot. I was able to get a great buzz from the cocktails and champagne flights. My last visit I started with the "Prosecco Pop", which is a glass of bubbly, finished with a flavored Popsicle. I choose watermelon since it is summer time. It was very yummy. My date had the "A Peach of my Heart" made with bourbon, peach liqueur, orange and sparkling wine-- strong but peachy. We choose to split a full flight of champagnes called "Over the rainbow," which came with a Brut Reserve, a Malbec Rose and lastly the Lambrusco. While we both had a favorite, they all were pretty good. Besides our complementary seasoned popcorn, which was a very nice touch, and well seasoned; we also ordered the "Louisiana Wagyu short rib". Now this was delicious. Braised beef placed on basil chimichurri, complete with killer corn ribs and finished off with aged blue cheese butter. OMG so darn good. Great experience. They had a wonderful selection of sparkling wine and cocktails and the snacks were superb. There were quite a few vegan options including a vegan cheese and a mushroom steak in addition to popcorn with nooch, almonds and olives. The Brussel sprouts can also be made vegan and were delightful! The aloe from the other side was a delicious cocktail I would highly recommend. We wanted to sit in the courtyard but due to the weather had to sit inside but we got a lovely spot by a window looking out at the recently recommissioned rampart street car line. Oh my, a bar/restaurant that will make one think they are in Europe. Champagne, champagne cocktails and Prosecco to exquisite filling appetizer portions of wagyu beef to crab crepes, truffled French fries and a cauliflower wedge salad. All were made even more special with their amazing sauces. The ambiance is romantic with soft lighting, tables for two or if you're with a group they have couches and tables. This place is phenomenal, and we had a blast celebrating Mother's Day with the special brunch Vibes: chill yet fancy and much girly feeling, yet inviting to the guys. Quiet music, and wasn't loud. Look: modern decor, bathroom was so adorable looking with thick soft personal towels, you kinda feel like you are in a wine cellar but its all Champagnes. Service: absolutely terrific. Servers kept on coming to the table to refill our water glasses, took away empty dishes, asked if we need anything and had great recommendations for the food. Food: look at the photos, its just as tasty as its pretty look, We took the duck pate, a special Mother's Day caviar bagel, and the almonds, all was so good! Drinks: we only had a half flight to share (the Bella flight) and it was really good, I'm not huge fan of bubbles but they sure were great. If we are back to New Orleans we will go back. Visited here one Sunday after brunch with friends for drinks. There weren't any inside tables when we arrived so we sat at a table outside - the courtyard is very nice. You have to order at least one food item with your drinks. Our server, Ry, was great - he was a sweetheart and very helpful. Once a table opened up inside, he let us relocate. The place is beautiful inside and out - it's just so hot out right now. There was a mix up with the payment system, but the owner went out of his way afterward to make it right. Excellent service. Food was disappointing. The vibe was spot on. We were dressed super-caz, but our server invited us in, and re-assured me when I ask about the dress code, that we were fine. We opted for the sturgeon caviar tasting. I'm by no means a caviar expert, but in my limited experience, I know that it should have a somewhat firm texture and have a distinct pop. What I've tasted before did. What we received at effervescent, had no pop whatsoever. All 3 caviars in the tasting had a mushy texture. One in particular was extremely fishy smelling and tasting. The other 2 had very little flavor at all. I don't think I'm wrong, when I say, I think all 3 of them were old, with the fishy one on the verge of spoiling. We also got the steak tartare with the shaved black truffles-(a $14 optional addition). My partner said it was just okay. The truffles were the star of the dish, but I guess they should be considering the price. I did not try the tartare, but the pomme frites with black truffle were okay, it should be noted that the dish was absolutely swimming in garlic. It was literally all you could smell, once it came out. Vampires of nawlins be warned lol. Beer and champs were ice cold. Also A+ for them carrying the champagne of beers! read more

This is a true spot to hang, eat and drink with friends or just as a couple. The owners and management paid attention to every little detail: the bar, the bottles display, the chandeliers, the sliding door of the bathroom and the seating... This place has the best bagel caviar brunch ever! So my friend and I decided to treat our besties to a birthday brunch. It was like the day after a long night and we had plan to go. They only could sit us at 11 for some odd reason and when we get there, there's not a soul. We sat there for almost two hours and it was probably like three other tables. I get that places are short staffed but they were not so I'm not sure why they put us there so early. HOWEVER, the bagel caviar brunch made up for it. I was violently hungover and needed food and bagels is like my fave thing ever. It comes with so many toppings like capers, onions, dill, two different spreads, tomatoes, like a lot of toppings. The bagels are fried I think either in a pan or deep fried because they are SUPER crunchy and soft at the same time. I don't know how they do it. There are endless options for bubbles obvi. but they have coffee as well. We will be back though hopefully fully functioning next time. read more

So, I haven't actually been here myself. I saw an advertisement for caviar and bubbly close to Mother's Day. I had never had real caviar before and decided that's what I wanted for Mother's Day. My husband ordered it for me. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said the ordering and pick up process went smoothly. He was in constant contact with someone to schedule his pick up. We had an amazing time here with our rather large group (12 of us). If you like bubbly + some amazing food to chow on, you're in the right spot. We opted for bottles rather than by the glass - def ask for a recommendation! I think that was the best way to go here. And if you don't finish your glass, they give the cutest "to go" cups (see photo). As far as food goes, we went with oysters, the seafood platter, cauliflower, steak (not pictured) and another raw bar dish. This is my wife's new favorite place in New Orleans, truthfully it's one of mine as well. Effervescence is a wine and bubbles bar located in the French Quarter. They sport a huge selection of bubbles, champagne, and prosecco by the glass. When I say huge, I mean the largest by the glass or half glass selection I have ever seen! They also have wines you have never heard of and some you've only read about. The place is pretty swanky looking, the serving trays, shakers, bottle openers, and fixtures are all gold. There's a huge marble top bar in the center of the room, and pocket door bathrooms. They also have a tv playing all black and white movies! Fellas they didn't seem to have much in the way of beer but have no fear, the staff is really knowledgeable and can help you find something to enjoy. Beautiful restaurant and old French quarter building. The staff is like those people you see in funny or die videos about the food being extra different in a super hipster restaurant and they have to explain it in detail when they drop it off at your table. This bubbly wine bar was found from a review in an online magazine. It has a very 1920s look and feel. Even the waiters wear 1920s inspired outfits. It's quite and glamorous. They have a fireplace that seats approx six people. One of the things I love about this wine bar, is that they do flights, or you could create your own flights. They have over 100 selections of various wines, some more than $500. Their primary focus is on Champaign's. I love the concept of bubbly.
