This review is specifically for a location in Gilbert Az on Val vista rd. We will be contacting corporate regarding the extremely unfortunate and unprofessional service we received on 7/6 from manager April and a young man working behind the counter more specifically. We placed a drive through order for two subs and one order of fries with ranch about as simple as it gets. We get to the pickup window and they hand us the wrong order. We let the guy know it was wrong, he proceeded to question us about it. We reiterated that they made a mistake and what the order should have been, after the third time asking, they finally remade the order asking us to pull around to the front now to wait a second time (Mind you, it's 115 outside in Arizona in July) but we did pull around. We waited another 5-10 mins for our corrected order. When the same guy comes out with out bag we ask him, "did you include the ranch we asked for" he says yes and walks away. We look and it's not in the bag at all, so my boyfriend goes inside to ask for it at the register. He waits a few mins but no one helps him, so he tries to get the kitchen staffs attention by knocking on the door and asking the same guy for the ranch he told us was in the bag. He looks at him, proceeds to get the ranch and then says to him "don't ever fucking touch my door or come into my kitchen". My boyfriend then responds with "then get my order right the first two times" and the employee (same one) fly's out of the kitchen screaming at him saying to "get the fuck out of my restaurant" Completely starting an altercation and chasing him out of the restaurant. This was unwarranted, unacceptable and we should have called the police as he felt unsafe with the employee coming at him from behind. The truth is, this location has been consistently messing up our orders. We constantly have to bring this to the employees attention and have them correct our order. It is not OK to make us wait in 100° heat and then when you make another mistake, instead of apologizing, you attack a customer. We contacted management immediately outside the location and we were told April would be calling us. She didn't. We called back and spoke to a CJ three times and finally hear back from a manager two days later. April is pissed off on the phone, you can tell right away that the employees involved lied to her and she had already decided not to care or be helpful to us. My boyfriend is now contacting corporate and we will get a resolution. Get better staff and ones that can work in food service where the goal is to Make people the food they ordered correctly the first time and when they need help, they get it. The eegees store 2 at 2510 e. speedway needs to retrain the gal at that register. It was Friday May 7th, 2021. I ordered berry/pina mix. This is the first time I witnessed this employee push the eegee slush into the cup with her gloved hand. Shandy did not change her glove after using the register. I told Shand that l DO NOT want the slush drink because she pushed her hand into the cup. This Shandy female needs to be retrained. If Shandy is giving change back to the customers, is Shandy replacing her gloves after giving money to the customers? Is eegees training staff to replace their gloves after touching the cash register? Is eegees training the staff to push the slush Into the cup with the same gloves used working at the register? Hubby ordered a 5 inch spicy grinder. I orders a 5 inch roast Beef sub. We shared an order of fries. The sandwiches were freshly made and had a good amount of filling. The fries were hot. As a native Tucsonan Eegee's was a town staple, especially in the scolding summers. I had been eating there on a regular basis for the last 30+ years. My sister even had Eegee's as dinner for her wedding. However, since it was bought out things have seriously declined. I gave it multiple chances since the take over but every time was a fail. The service at eegee's was always iffy, but the food made it worth it. Now the service is worse than before AND they changed the food. The dramatically reduced menu, the sandwhich size changes and even though they said they werent going to change the fries, ranch and drinks, they did. I was at McDonald's tonight and was reminded of my poor experience from a few months ago at this Eegee's location. I go to this Eegee's fairly often, and to be honest my experience is generally positive. Sometimes, they forget to throw in a side of house but its not a big deal. However this particular time, I went inside with my friend and we each ordered a sandwich, fries and an eegee. The guy on register was very rude to us, and made me feel like we were annoying him just by ordering. I ignored it though and went to sit down and wait for my food. Then he gives me my eegee, which was the wrong kind. I go back to the front to inform him that I actually had ordered a strawberry/lemon instead of watermeleon, and he just kinda sighed and rolled his eyes. I don't know why it was such a big deal to him, considering I'm one of the few people in tucson that doesnt like watermelon. But whatever man, he gets me the replacement and I ask him what I should do with the watermelon one (as I didn't know what their policy was) and he snaps back with "do whatever you want with it" Imagine my surprise when I look at his nametag and see: Brett - Supervisor Really? Supervisor? This guy gave me so much attitude over a mistake that HE made. My friend saw the whole thing, and was less passive then me. He told him "hey, I just want you to know that you were really rude for no reason, and I dont appreciate how you treated us" Perfectly sensible, but the supervisor replies "Yeah sorry its been a long day, I've been here since 10am (it was 3:30pm), and I'm just tired and - Look bud, I work in the service industry too, routinely pull 8 hour days, and don't consider myself a saint for not treating customer's like dirt. In a word, ghetto. Eegee's is the epitome of everything that is cheap, ugly but quirky Tucson style. By far, the Eegee's chain is known for their delicious frozen ice treats, called an "eegee." They are made with actual fruit, always a plus, though they're also quite chemically treated (you'll notice once the mix starts melting a bit and you're left with an unnatural feeling "sludge"). The food at Eegee's can hardly be called food, cheap dry sub sandwiches and other fast foodstuffs which should generally be avoided by anyone not drunk or high (although those two states of mind provide a fantastic market for Eegee's to cater to). Subs come with an amazing house dressing, and I don't know if they make their own bread but it smelled and tasted fresh. Okay... where do I even begin. Eegee's is a fast-food restaurant that is SO uniquely Tucson. I frequent an Eegee's probably once a week on average, namely because I am obsessed with their French fries and buffalo ranch. I even had an Eegee's sub and Party Pak of strawberry-lemon eegee in my dressing room on the day of my wedding! It is definitely a favorite for those of us who grew up with it, and avid fans often take to social media to argue about the best and worst flavor of the month. 3 stars = average. Ask why because we LOVE Eegee's! Because of how we were treated. We have coupon cards and go to Eegee's 2x a month. We've never been to this location but I like it. It has a huge, I mean huge, dining area. We arrive and go in on a Wednesday about 330 or 345. Very quiet. Seems to be a normally staffed restaurant. No one is in line, so I wait at the counter to be told "I'll be right with you." Why? I notice some of the tables are dirty and since it's slow, why is that? Why hasn't staff cleaned those? Before we leave, I see an employee come out to the dining room and rather than wipe the tables with a clean, damp cloth.... she takes a napkin out of the dispenser and wipes the "stuff" on the floor and "wipes" the table. As I watch, she's the manager. I also watch her take her phone out of her pocket and look at her phone for a while. *This is a pet peeve of mine. You are on the clock, working. You should only do that on lunch or break time NOT COMPANY TIME. Isn't that common sense? Please don't belittle me by saying it's work related. I order 2 fries, 2 sandwiches (12 and 5 inches) and the largest drink. It's $20, but then I get my $4 off. I also buy 4 cards and make the donation ($28). When ordering I notice they have a new sign. They use to give you two condiments per item order so you could get 8 condiments on my order. We normally use 4. The sign says one condiment per item. Technically, I order 5 things. When the order comes they bring us 3 condiments (ranch dressing). Half way through we ask for two more. We are given one more and told we have to pay .25 cents for the other. Eegee's is known for its generosity and I love them even though I think their food is ridiculous priced. Is this new one condiment policy because they now sell ranch in a bottle? I understand it's because people take advantage and waste. I don't like the whole "adding" to your bill for cheese, lettuce, or the purchase of condiments, because then you DON'T get it you aren't give a discount. Example... we go to another restaurant. I honestly cannot believe there are only 4 reviews. Eegee's is a Tucson institution and one of the places I HAVE to visit when I'm in town. What are the best items on the menu? Pizza Fries, Veggie Grinder (which comes without mayo standard!), whatever the flavor of the month Eegee is - it will be good, as well as the Pina Colada Eegee. The flavor of the month Eegee switches out monthly and each month is better than the last (over the years I've had them all). For those not wanting a Pina Colada, the other always there flavors are Strawberry and Lemon. You can do a half-and-half Eegee and enjoy two flavors, and a Lemon Ice T-Eegee is really refreshing during the summertime. Note: a small Eegee is actually really big! Yes, the stores need a makeover, but the standard yellow benches are part of its charm. read more

BEWARE of food poisoning from this location, & management that doesn't care or take action! There is a BBQ place & Five Guys location across the street & several other options in the same plaza. My husband & I have let a lot slide at this location bc there isn't another Eegee's nearby. However, in a best case scenario, this location routinely gets the orders wrong (easily 75%+ of the time, which can be fixed but wastes time) . In a worst case scenario like my husband & I experienced just last week you get HORRIFIC food poising from improperly stored/cooked food, & then management completely ignores it! I had part of a bad meatball sub, could tell it was funky & warned the people there to check the food/ toss the meatballs and they didn't! My husband & I both got really sick from eating here, as in lost time from work. It SO wasn't worth going here. Someone was supposed to follow up with me on this and it looks like they expected I'd let this slide too. First timer here, although I heard a lot about these famous cool treats they are known for at Eegee's... and I was not let down~ I would say these icy treats rate 4-5/5 stars. They have an authentic real fruit taste and even have some fruit pieces mixed in according to its flavor. I tried two: pina colada & strawberry. The pina colada has a nice balance--not overwhelmed with coconut flavors, and a little citrus tang. The strawberry is sweeter, so if you're a big sweet tooth, you can't go wrong with this one. Next time, will try more flavors! Also ordered the delux Italian Grinder. Wish it had pepperoncini in it, so next time I will go for the og Italian Grinder. Delicious though, the bread was fresh and had a nice texture, and it was better quality than I expected for the price. Prices are very fair and you get quality without being overcharged. read more

I've made better flavored ice drinks at home using my blender. With 3 choices to chose from you would think they would make those flavors be irresistable. Eegee's... I gave this chain store two chances within 2 years apart to impress me... and it failed both times. For those that never had Eegee's before, it is a cross from 7-11 slurpees and Subway. I'm sorry to say this, but there is nothing special about it. Eegee's drink is one grade above a Slurpee and one grade down from a Jumba Juice (kinda like a poor man's Jumba Juice). Sorry, but frozen tiny pieces of fruits and sugar colored ice just doesn't do it for me. They tell you it contains real juice, but 1 drop in a bucket can also be claimed as such. So... yeah. Their sandwiches are not even at par with Subway's. So, I don't get the draw. Their fries were horrible. Like the ones you got at your high school cafeteria. I took a few bites and fed the rest to the birds. You can buy those at Safeway and put them in a microwave and it would pretty much be the same. No more Eegee's for me. Sorry. Also, $3 for a medium Slurpee is ridiculous. For $3 a drink, I better find real milk in there, not colored ice. They must be laughing all the way to the bank with such prices. read more

I have to say, it lived up to the hype. I've heard about Eegees slushies from my Tucson friends for years. My husband brought me one of their subs once, but didn't think the drink would make the trip. The sub was good, definitely better than most chain sub places around. Soft bread, fresh ingredients, etc. So when I saw that there was an Eegees on my way out of town, I took my chance. I was in a hurry, so I went through the drive thru. The guy at the window was very nice, even when I was stumbling over what to call the damn thing. I got a strawberry/ lemon off if the recommendation of a former Tucsonian and yeah, it was delicious. Sweet and tart. And a note to my dear husband, it made the trip back up to Phx just fine. :p read more
