I loved going to this home town feel pharmacy, I thought even though I pay more with my insurance going here would give me more personal care, until the other day the older pharmacist, maybe the owner, embarrassed me in front if all other customers. Everyone else there is nice, but this man was just a crabby old jerk and didn't even show any medical concern for me. I handed him my same script they have been filling for months, he takes it and loudly says oh I have the medication, but I'm not filling for that doctor anymore and walks off. He doesn't politely pull me aside and tell me why. He doesn't tell me if there is something unethical going on that maybe I should know about. He doesn't ask my why I take pain medicarion. He just treated me as if I was doing something repulsive and left me standing there. I was diagnosed with a disease that has no cure. It's very rare, the skin falls off the bottom of my feet and hands, not unlike someone suffering 3 degree burns. My feet bleed daily and some days I'm in a wheel chair. Most days I can barely walk. I don't have phantom fake back pains just wanting dope. I am a legigitmate patient with sever psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in addition to the pustular psoriasis of my hands and feet. I was treated like a junkie and not a person. If the dr I am seeing is doing something unethical, a good pharmacist would have counseled me instead of embarrassed me and walked off. They can see all the other drs in their computer I see. All outstanding reputable doctors. These doctors sent me to this pain management dr because I will live the rst of my now short life like this, what's left of it, they are trying to make me comfortable. My cousin died if this two years ago. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I'm not standing in the back room clinics looking for pills. I am foing to good specialist, some of the best in Houston specialist, as I have searched out all avenues for my care. I have insurance and my insurance has no issue with this dr, or thus clinic, I take monthly drug test to be part of this pain management program. My specialist referred me to this clinic and are on board with this medication I take or control the pain. I called the FDA myself to see if there is a problem with my dr. Nothing, just this pharmacist saying he won't fill for a particular doctor. Forget the paying patient and what illness they may have. A good pharmacist should investigate his cllients needs and see what condition they have before passing judgement. He doesn't know if I have cancer, Lupus etc as I am on medications similar to cancer patients. I take many painful injections, infusion treatments, all to try and control my disease. This pharmacist judged me on A doctor he has an issue with today he didn't for the last 8 months. Doesn't bother to tell me what it is, just rudely walks off leaving me standing there with people starring at me. Just picked that day to turn me away without explanation. That's not patient care., that's being a power jerk. So out if nowhere I was rudely, without explanation turned away (very loudly) for everyone to hear and it was humiliating to be my age and treated so rude. To me that was just as unethical as what he was alleging about my doctor. I've told my friends and family as I've lived in this neighborhood 18 years and Eds didn't just lose my business. My family and friends who know the hell I've been through wanted to go up there and rip him a new one, as well as they will no longer be a customer in his store either and I hope the circle grows. No one should be treated this way. He must be able afford the loss of the business, as he just lost more than my business, could explain why the place looks so run down. I am very distraught over this. It's bad enough to get a painful illness, it's embarrassing to go in public and I strive to do it, I know, my time is short, and then to be treated like street trash, was too much. I have (insurance) and not some cash paying junkie, my insurance company has no issue with my doctors nor my medications as they fit myillness. I I have a nurse assigned to me that helps me with diet, medication plans ect. She couldn't find a reason for this either. If my doctor was doing something wrong my insurance (Aetne) would shut it down. This was just unacceptable. At the very least he should have pulled me aside and gave me private consultation. Not Jusged me off a doctor he has an issue with.I definitely didn't get proper care at this place. What's sad is all the other people that work there are very nice and they looked embarrassed for me. Time to put this pharmacist out to pasture and then deny him medications when he gets sick. . Don't expect the place to clean up and look more like a pharmacy any time soon as he will be losing more business, as can pass this to as many as I can. Above all he was RUDE, there was no patient confidentiality as he let the whole store know he was just turning me away. read more
