I like Edo. I like Korean food once in a while, and my favourite is the Japchey. The noodles that are made with some kind of root, could be tapioca. I am not too sure. They also serve Japanese food of sorts which I have not tried, but I hear it is food from my western friends who have done so. So, if you like Korean food, this is a good place to eat at. read more

This place is amazing. The best Sushi and Korean food in Danbury without question. Attentive service and great food. I loved it.

Oh my goodness!!! Edo II is a firm favorite, so fun to try lots of dishes that are as equally delicious as the next one! If you want flavour and adventure with a seriously cool vibe, then go! We are visiting again soon before we leave Rd Danbury ! Can't wait to try the Edo II again! The drinks were quite fantastic as well, over all the whole experience was beyond my expectations.4/5 read more

Went here for lunch. Don't expect to be in and out, the food takes a while to make as there was only one chef. The sushi was average, nothing special about it. Cherry Bloom was my favorite out of the ones we got. They only offer bottled drinks now, kind of disappointed they didn't have hot drinks available. read more

Very happy to see that this space is now occupied, and finally we have a Korean restaurant in the area which is rare. The kimchi was excellent, the bulgogi a bit on the expensive side ($20), but there are other menu items I'm looking forward to trying. Very limited parking, but this is a small place. Hope they add more Korean specials. This is a refreshing change from all the Chinese, Japanese, and Thai. BTW - they have sushi too. read more

When you go out to a restaurant, you go not just for the food but the feel. Anyone can order take out or microwave something good; the environment is half of the experience. Not only does Edo II have terrific food, but it's one of the nicest places for a casual dinner. Tiny, but comfortable, and tastefully decorated, Edo feels very much like a small operation, in a great way. Small side dishes (pickled vegetables, Korean kimchi) make great appetizers, as do the actual menu items (the Korean pancake is crispy and satisfying). The sushi as Edo is great. I'm not usually one for "oddball sushi," but the Golden Pillow (inari stuffed with a tuna filling) is just over the top enough. No, the best part of Edo is its Korean cuisine. The gobdol bibimbap is something of a signature dish; hot (hot!) rice and vegetables, topped with a meat and raw egg. Mix it around, let the rice crisp, and pour on the excellent chili sauce. The best! The mandu-guk dumpling soup is also very good; get it with rice cakes for a nice starchy consistency to contrast the boiling dumplings. It isn't a particularly cheap spot, and as someone who can pack in food the portions aren't extravagant, though they aren't skimpy. But Edo is a classy joint, without feeling snobbish or, conversely, cheap. A favorite of mine. I haven't been in awhile, and I miss it! Strike up a conversation with the owner, recognizable by his good nature and tireless work behind the sushi bar. Bring a few friends, and enjoy! read more

Edo II - Beef gobdol, excellent. Be sure to have the chili sauce! - Japanese Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

Picked up 6 regular rolls and 2 specialty rolls, when I got home no sauce for the rolls. They wanted to argue over the phone about them putting it the bag. After the back and forth and 80 dollars later they ended up bringing it to my house because I told them I lived 20 min away. Why would I want to call and argue over soy sauce? All I want to do at 9pm is eat my food! read more

This is a little Japanese gem in Danbury, CT. The sushi here is fresh no matter what time of the day and night you come. It's absolutely delish every single time I've gone. There Japanese dishes such as the hot clay pot is a must have a the spicy sizzling chicken gooey is also super delicious. Fun fact it's a BYOB so bring your beverage of choice. read more

I had high hopes for this place based off of yelp reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. Hole in the wall, not many places to sit. I got the beef bulgogi. Serious lack of flavor, which I couldnt rectify with my friend's spare ribs sauce or the soy sauce. Her spare ribs weren't cut when they came out, they were also pretty chewy. For apps we had the tempura. Tasteless. I won't be back. I hate wasting good money on lackluster food. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 was that the servers were very kind. read more

I must have visited dozens of times, and will certainly keep coming back! The food is consistently great-the Korean dishes are especially worth a try though the Japanese inspired bento box is also a good choice. Typically spicy, the Korean options executed here balance the spice level perfectly to allow the wonderful flavors to come through. Though a very small establishment, the owner runs a tight ship and you don't normally have to wait long. read more

Edo II - Bento Box - Japanese Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

This place was very disappointing given all of the excellent reviews! The ambience was very cute and homey but the food just wasn't worth the price. The japchae noodles had a very strong oil taste (almost like they hadn't changed the cooking oil for a few days). The kalbi was well marinated but over cooked and not as tender as kalbi should be. The gobdol bibimbab was super bland. Finally, the pricing was very expensive for what the food was. read more

Oooooo Korean food!! That's usually the feeling I get when I'm going out for Korean food! Well, not this time. Let me explain: Customer service: the customer service here is above par. A friendly face met us when we walked in and was very inviting! The waiter was very attentive and knew her stuff about what their customers want from them. The itamae is nothing less than amazing and sweet! Atmosphere: a cute and quaint establishment! The outside definitely looks like a "Tiny house" if I'm being honest. Very small on this inside, but I love the booth-style seating! Food: okay. I ordered the Jeff Roll. DEE-LISH!!! I also got some Shumai, but they tasted like they were thawed and reheated. Not a desirable taste! Also, the little dishes of Kim Chi, broccoli, etc. we're way too small and way too late. They were brought out WITH our food. (No good) My friend got bimbimbap and a roll. She seemed to be happy with her choices, so something good came out of this visit. Would I recommend? Probably not. Will I be back? Not unless my friend wants to go, and still I'll recommend that we go to M BBQ or something. Not quite the same, but looks good!!! read more

Small cozy place. My first time ever having a bibimbap dish and it came steaming hot, like the shumai and since I burnt my mouth with the shumai , figured I'd let it cool off. Well that was a bad idea , my rice was burnt so I didnt get to enjoy it. The beef was tasty though. read more

To be honest. Didn't expect much when we came here. After all why would new yorker with easy access to great authentic korean and japanese food come for korean/japanese restaurant in Danbury, Connecticut? However. Thea restaurant is clean, well decorated and comfortable. The single waiter is inviting, curteous, and always has a smile on. We got Philadelphia roll as appetizer. Pretty good with quality smoked salmon. The side dishes came out with our gobdol bibimbap and hwedabap were miniature but actually very tasty. Especially the tofu, which was better than most I had in NYC. Bibimbap came out steaming hot in the stone pot. The sauce came with it for you to add to your liking. The flavor was very good and authentic (according to my Korean wife). The high temperature of the pot allows for various textures in the rice. Soft mixed with sticky mixed with crunchy. Actually fun and delicious at the same time. Hwedabap used fresh fishes. The sauce was delicious but a bit on the spicy side. If you don't like the dish too sweet or spicy ask for sauce on the side. Very good experience will definitely come again if we visit the area. read more

Overpriced. Ordered a tiny shrimp tempura roll and a sweet potato roll and it came to 17 dollars. Holy crap! Not good enough to cost that much. The sweet potato roll cost pretty much as much as the shrimp roll, why??? read more

Ordered a Bento Box with Shashimi and couldn't believe how much food you get for under $15. Very fresh mixed green salad with ginger carrot dressing was superb. Edamame, seaweed salad, spring roll, fried dumplings and Miso soup included. The fish was so fresh and tender, lovely presentation. They obviously care about the quality of their food. Will have to try the rolls next time. Friendly and quick service. Small and clean place far better than many places in the Danbury area. read more

My favorite sushi place in the area. My family and I go here all the time. The owner is so nice and wants everything to be perfect. The rolls are sooo good and all the fish is so fresh. The bibimbab is so good if you want a hot dish, it comes in a super hot stone bowl which cooks the rice, vegetables, meat and egg as you eat it For a no rice dish I get the hwedupbab which basically salad with a bunch of raw sashimi pieces in a spicy sauce, it's really good Overall you can't go wrong with the sushi, every roll I've had there has not disappointed read more

The sushi is amazing. I am addicted and if I could eat their food everyday I would. What a treasure!

Great Korean and Japanese options for this area. Delicious and made with care. They have Korean classics and high quality options for Japanese sushi. We ordered bimibap and uni as well as spicy tuna, very full and satisfied afterwards. The only con is their hours - I wish they were open more! read more

Edo II is a small Asian blend restaurant on the other side of the Danbury area. Resting in a popular strip along a busy street, the first issue you'll come across is parking. The spots are tight and hold one way out. Luckily we fit into one car and we're able to find parking right away for a Wednesday Afternoon. Second issue runs into entering the store. The dinning room is extremely small, our table of five taking about a quarter of the dining area up and making it for the tightest of space for seating. The tables themselves make it difficult to maneuver and you will feel cramped sitting. The staff took a minute to get out, I believe having a small staff on hand since we only saw about two people circulating. I ordered the K-2, Jaeyuk Kimchi Gobdol with sides and white rice. The bowl itself was an average size however most of the rice had stuck to the bowl and was pretty burnt to the traditional pot, making it not edible. The meat itself was plain, not really tasting much of anything to brag about. The menu hoisted a variety of items for slightly raised prices which leads me believe they use being one of the only Korean/Asian places around to their advantage, hiking up the price. Edo II definitely needs work, please take this review with the upmost respect. I can totally see this place doing better with a larger dining room for a higher population, more staff for quicker orders and a set standard for how the food is made. Maybe specify the menu to craft better quality! read more

Udon here was excellent! The broth was flavorful and the toppings were fresh! Excellent service, staff was super kind and attentive!

Wonderful authentic food, solid service, family business, what's not to love? This place is a real gem. Driving through CT and needed to stop for food and got lucky to find Edo. We'll plan to stop here next time. read more

Gob Dol is always delicious! Service is always spectacular. I was a fan pre-pandemic; no different now.

I have NEVER...EVER...had a bad moment here. Jay, his wife and staff have ALWAYS made the food with love! He puts his heart into everything he touches. He will always peep around the curtain and sushi bar to check on you. Come and make sure its correct. And if not, he will remake it for you. The bowls here are great! he takes his time to tell you whats in the dishes if it be your first time going. Cant say enough. We had relocated and left for 3 years. Came back and he remembered us and greeted us with hugs and smiles. read more

Picked coming here just by chance and so glad we did. Super nice owners and waitress. The owners came up and chatted on our way out and you can tell they get to know their customers. The super tiny dining was actually one of my favorite parts--you felt as though you were visiting family. Oh, and the food was all awesome (and fast). Wish this were closer but will definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

It was an okay restaurant. The food was good, but I felt the seafood in my soon doo boo soup was not that fresh. I felt the seafood in my soup were frozen for the longest time. I was expecting ban chans (side dishes) since it is a korean restaurant, but we did not get any. They also charged (+$1) for water per person ( they gave us water bottle). It could have been better if they told us they charge water beforehand. The food is a little overpriced. I have been to many Korean restaurants, and I don't think I wanna pay that much for bibimbap. The atmostphere of the restaurant was okay. It was a super tiny restaurant that it felt like I was in a fairy cabin. Overall, it was an okay place to eat but I don't think I'm going to visit again...! read more

Overpriced and Underwhelming. We were very excited to try Edo II, as we live close by and had somehow overlooked it. Sadly, it gets only an "OK" rating because the Shrimp Tempura Udon, though tasty, had ONE shrimp in it ($17) and the Dwenjang with mixed seafood ($18) was incredibly bland. Also, the seafood was chopped up so fine that the flavors and textures were indistinguishable. (It also looked extremely unappealing.) Maybe we should have put the little condiments (chopped cucumber, etc.) into the Dwenjang instead of the Udon dish? It might have helped. We had the Naruto roll appetizer, which was nice and fresh with a tasty dipping sauce. Not sure we'll ever go back. read more

Don't know the deal. But it has been a couple occasions I ordered filet mignon steak from there and it wasn't the cut I ordered ( they charge me for it) .Also I don't know where they getting those steaks from but they don't look right or taste right . Something is going on!! Then when you confront them about it . The lady freaks out on you. read more

Ehh, it's alright. It used to be much better. I'm awarding 3 stars because in the past this place was pretty good. However, the last time I ate there, they had gotten rid of the "any 2/3 roll" combo. They also raise the prices significantly. $6.50 for a California roll on the smaller side is just gouging. I won't be eating here again. read more

Server was nice enough to seat us but when I politely asked her to take my order, the boss harshly scolded her for not taking orders from a prior table who was seated first. There were 2 servers - so why can't both tables' orders be taken at the same time? When I told my husband maybe we should leave since the boss was getting rude about this, the boss responded: GO! So we left and guess what? We are never coming back...... read more

This place is so cozy! It felt like those restaurants in the Korean dramas in the mountain areas. The food was pretty good. For the appetizers, we had the tempura and Korean pancake. For the entrees, we had galbi and mandooguk. All tasted very good! Only thing I have to say is that the Korean pancake was on the smaller side and isn't worth the price. Overall, good experience. Would definitely be back for some comfort food! read more
