A little, historic theater in downtown Edmonds, this is a nice place to go. If you want a good seat, don't be late because you do have to stand in line prior to the start of the movie. It's a nice place to go for a date because you can can stroll around the area before the movie if you want to get a drink, something to eat, etc. read more

We'll definitely be back. This is like a friendly hometown movie theater. Ticket prices are affordable, free popcorn for young children, affordable concessions (relative to other theaters), easy street parking, traditional movie theater seating complete with balcony - no reserved seating or convenience pricing for sitting together as a family - this is the movie theater we have been searching for. So many things to love - definitely a community small business worth supporting. Such a delightful experience. The only remote negative is that the main restroom is up stairs, so the main restrooms might be a challenge for those with mobility issues. This theater is perfect - this will be our first choice for any future movies coming out. read more

I love this little local theater. Actually it's not so little, but it is great. This place has the best pricing for both the movies and concessions. As mall theater pricing has been creeping up, up, up, this still feels very affordable whether you are a single person or a whole family. I believe matinee is $6, and evening $9. The seats aren't the big plush seats that the bigger theaters have, but they do just fine, it's a little tight if you have people climbing over you though. Let me talk about the popcorn here though-it's the best, tastes so good and fresh, so good! So if you want to escape the multiplexes and experience a bit of old school charm in a beautiful town, come visit the Edmonds Theater. read more

It's great when one lives near by and can walk to a movie. Edmonds Theater so reminds me of growing up as a kid and going to the movies. The layout is the same with a balcony (remember those). Popcorn is great and the prices can not be beat. $8 adult and $6 before 5 pm while the chains are $11, $9 matinee. Why go to the expensive chains with no personality for Edmonds Theater has first run movies just like the chains. read more

This theater is my favorite place to catch a flick, hands down. Whether it's a first run film, or one of their special "Throwback" events, this is a guaranteed good time. Comfortable seats, 18+ balcony, excellent soundsystem, and delicious popcorn at a more than affordable price- what's not to love? All of these things are excellent contributors to my 5 star rating, but the real star of the show (no pun intended) is the staff. The staff of the Edmonds theater is some of the friendliest I've ever met. The manager likes to give a funny yet impassioned speech before the movie, which I find adorably heartwarming. There's an older gentleman who works here who is gruff but fiercely protective of his other coworkers. There's this one kid who, I swear to god, has different hair everytime I come in! The other night I came to watch "It", and silly me spilled my drink all over the floor in the theater. I went into the lobby to tell the kid, and she was listening to New Order and reading a book! (A book! In this day and age! )She cracked jokes with me and made me fee like less of a complete doofus for spilling. This little band of characters is something you can't get at a big box theater. This theater is great! Over 80 years old, it takes you back in time, complete with balcony and all. Prices are cheap ($18 for a family of 3 to see Shrek 3 at the 5pm showing.) My FAVORITE thing: kids get a free brown paper bag of popcorn. Get here early to find street parking and get through the concession line, which is a little slow. Advice: if you see a movie you like at the Edmonds Theater, watch it now! This theater has a very high turnover of new-released movies, so catch it while you can. read more

I was on a date with my girlfriend when we decided to give this local theater a try. We both fell in love with the place. It's got this vintage feel that's warm and charming. Perfect intimate spot to catch current flicks with family and friends. Much better experience than an overly crowded mall theater. I'll be coming back again! read more

The seats are uncomfortable and the sound is bad. The cashier short changed me and tried to argue with me when I pointed it out. It is cheaper than the chain theaters, but I would rather pay extra than go to the Edmonds Theater and end up with a sore back. read more

Have been goiing here since the 50's. Was called The Princess originally for years. Wish it still had a working curtain like one newer theatre around here has now. Better presentation. Good curved screen and OK sound. Great prices and clean. Lucky to still have this gem around. Very bored with the mall theatres. And expand the art deco style of the lights with hanging lights and/ or paint the walls in art deco graphics. Just sayin. A little plain. Don't remember the details from the 50's. read more

I've lived in Edmonds all of my 23 years and my family and friends have always enjoyed going to movies at this quaint and hip small town theater. Family owned and great quality! Great popcorn and price! The Edmonds Theater always has the newest movies. This theater has a free showing of The Walking Dead every Sunday night. One of the oldest establishments in the city; a landmark! They only have one screen, and only play one movie at a time. A very comfy, old-timey vibe. There is a balcony (no minors allowed :) and good concessions. They also host fun events there (free super bowl viewing, a weekly Rick Steves travel seminar, and other random things), and you can rent the place out to play video games on the theater screen! read more
