STAY AWAY!! They advertised a loaded 2018 Subaru Legacy 3.6 with 16k miles for $23595. I said to the hubby "This sounds too good to be true." But we were going to be in Edison so we decided to stop in. Mind you I had been on the phone with Brandon (internet sales) and Jennifer (no idea what she does) and was assured this was the price of the car. When we arrived Zo, a salesman, was cordial and brought this incredibly beautiful car around. We wanted to put a binder on the vehicle and come back the next day, but they don't do that. So Zo called Joe ( I kid you not), his manager who said we should really buy a Nissan. We have nothing against Nissan but If we had wanted a Nissan there are plenty of dealerships in our area. Anyway Zo and Joe added all kinds of extra fees including a detailing fee of about $4000. DETAILING... the car was in pristine condition. The total price for the car (including fees I never heard of) was between 32 to 34K. When I told him it wouldn't be a problem (it was but I just wanted to hear what he'd say) he ignored me. So I asked Zo why they even advertised the car and the answer I got was "It's done all the time just to get people in here". TALK ABOUT BAIT AND SWITCH. The salesman to the side of Zo's desk had a sign that said "Please Yelp Us". I reminded him that this dealership had far from stellar reviews on Yelp. He said that was why he needed the review. If I could give less than 1 star I would, I went today for an oil change with a $29.95 coupon that Includes Genuine Nissan Oil Filter and up to 7 quarts of motor oil (per vehicle specification) and a Complimentary multi-point inspection. 1st he denied the coupon and offered me the same thing for $86 plus tax 2nd He called me after a while offering a loner car because he claimed there was emergency work which would have costed $1400, claiming that other wise the car would be broken, I declined finally I paid $92 When I drove the car I started to hear a lot of noise when increasing the speed. I called the service department explaining the noise and requesting them to ask the mechanic if the tire is loose or if he forget to tighten it and I mentioned that this noise wasn't present before the service. He didn't offer me to come back to check it, finally after 1/2 hour talking back and forth, he just told call 1800 Nissan1. I went to a different mechanic to check the car and he found that the driver side tire was loose. At the signing in the finance office, they tacked on numerous fees (including over $3000 for the certification)--which no other car dealer (I've purchased two other pre-certified vehicles from two different dealers before) has charged me for. After getting a flat and losing the rim, I went to Edison Nissan with no appointment. They initially said they couldn't help--my car was too old and they didn't have the part in stock; they already were booked up with appointments; they couldn't set me up with a rental because I was traveling from too far out-of-state. When they found out I was stranded far from home with my kid, they worked hard and creatively to help me. They explained what they were doing at every step of the process, and managed to find a secondhand part for me. Tyrell in the parts office could NOT have been more helpful, and he was just exudes intelligence and competence. Sometimes you can just tell when a person has a lot going on, and you could just tell he knew his job really, really well. Fernando in service was awesome--despite being really, really busy (you could see he was in constant motion), he went out of his way for me, and kept me updated whenever there was news. Seriously, if you need help and they can give it, find this place and ask for these people in particular. BTW though--please take down the "Ladies Only" side off the ladies room. I don't know if this is meant to be an anti-trans thing, but with all the transphobia floating around about bathrooms, it's just not necessary--especially because it's just a single-toilet facility, so no one's privacy or anything else is even REMOTELY at risk. I bought a vehicle here over a month ago. It was a certified vehicle. Windshield washer fluid did not work. Carpeting was pulled out of the side walls missing fob Those were the big things. They made me an appointment to have the fob programmed told me to come back in a week at 10 o'clock. I live an hour and a half from the location found my way there for my 10 o'clock appointment that they failed to schedule. Came back the next week The fob was programmed but they didn't have the parts for the windshield washer fluid pump so now they want me to come back a third time. once again, I live an hour and a half from the dealership. At this point they offer me $200 for my inconvenience, which I have yet to receive and when I called again to find out what was going on with the windshield washer pump one of the managers just ripped me apart and said I told you I would take care of it but it's been a month at this point. I'm afraid to let them touch my car. Installed Yelp just so I can warn others about this place. I went in to test drive a car listed at $12,495. Showed up first thing in the morning. We were greeted by a salesman named Steve who was very friendly and helpful. After about 3 hours of test driving, we finally sat down to discuss numbers. I was incredibly confused, because the price jumped from 12495 to 18500. $6,000 in fees. As soon as I started asking questions about the fees, Steve went to get a sales manager. The sales manager, Anthony, wasn't as friendly. He straight up told us they lie about the prices online to get people in the door, then add fees to bring up the sale to a "realistic price." I started asking why they lied about the sale price and his answer was "everybody does it" and it's "just the nature of the business" which is complete bs. Then he had the nerve to act like I was crazy for expecting the advertised price, and became very condescending. I'm aware that every dealership has fees that are unavoidable, but not 6k in fees. That's just false advertising. Stay away from this dealership. There are plenty of other dealerships that are much more transparent that deserve your business. Waste of 3 hours. read more

I called before making the more than 2 hour drive down there to see if there is anything physically wrong with the vehicle and I was told the vehicle was flawless. We also asked about hidden fees before taking the day to go down there and was told there was none. When we got down there we were eagerly greeted by a very nice salesman. When we saw the vehicle it was covered in dents and dings. I was upset about this , but we still test drove and decided to negotiate because we made the drive down there. There was over $1,000 in 'hidden fees' when he came out with the price breakdown. Salesman was still eager to negotiate and the manager ended up coming out. They ended coming down on some of the fees, but wouldn't move on the price of the vehicle with the dents. read more

Their sloppy tire service almost got me killed on the road. Replaced two new tires from this place, within one week, and one got blown out and one got flat. This is not right. Their warranty only warranty the tires they sell not customer's safety or time lost. This is unacceptable and unfair. I waited a little bit before reviewing this location. I probably visited this dealership 4 times to get things fixed. I always deal with John and he is pretty good and straight to the point. So far they fixed my transmission under warranty without any questions asked. I didn't even have to ask for a rental, it was given to me at no cost. I'm also writing this review because today I got a flat tire, they were able to accommodate me right the way and had new set on tires put on in no time. Saved me money and time at work. I have purchases two vehicles from this dealership and provided countless referrals. Florida has always been wonderful and I feel horrible that her name is included in this review that I am about to leave. It's infuriating to work with this dealership. They take the cake with the "good cop, bad cop" act. I brought a friend in recently to purchase a car. The first finance manager was out right rude to us because she wanted to go through her credit union rather than the dealership, which is her choose and her right. Seamore than came over with another finance manager to explain the options. It's Saturday, she obviously couldn't get in touch with her bank so we said that we would follow up on Monday. They advised they couldn't hold the car, which is more than understandable. The following week my friend follows up with Florida and never hears back. Yesterday Florida told me that the car was still available and if we were ready to move forward. A finance manager then called right after and said that the car wasn't available but there were others and that she would have to come down to look at something else. Why are we told conflicting info? Is it a bait and switch? It's difficult having a conversation with anyone because they constantly want to talk over you and make their point when we are the customers and are trying to make a sound decision. I was planning to check out a used Hyundai Elantra, so I called the day before to make sure they still had it. I let them know I would be coming in to test-drive it the next day around noon. Before leaving the next day, I called to make sure it hadn't been sold the night before. They said they still had the car. I make the hour long drive up to Edison to see the car. Except the sales rep can't find it. He checks with finance, and it had been sold the night before. So I then had to drive another hour home, empty-handed. I understand that used cars sell quickly. However, if a customer has scheduled a test drive, you should let them know the vehicle they were interested in has been sold. At the very least, they should actually check before telling their customer that they have the car so they don't waste hours of their time. read more

Classic bait and switch. My son saw a used truck on their website. The price looked good and it was listed as "certified". We test drove the truck and began negotiating for the price and for our trade in. Their trade in offers were comically low (thousands below even KBB) , and when after negotiation they made their "best offer", it turned out that the certified warranty cost an additional $4k. As a result , a truck worth $17 K was "offered" at $22 k, and a trade in worth $15k was going to credit us only $11k. We walked. Additionally , 50% of the staff had no masks on. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND FOLLOW-THROUGH. My mother bought a car at the Edison Nissan dealership in the fall of 2021. She is 75 and a widow. Lots of fast-talking and hidden fees were never properly explained. My brother went into the dealership after the transaction to question certain fees and they still had a hard time reconciling the bill of sale. VERY unresponsive to calls, e-mails, or voicemails. Spent way too much time trying to get someone to help. The current, still-outstanding issue is that my mother wanted to cancel the extended warranty. She sent the required, notarized document to Nissan via certified mail in Nov 2021 and they have still not removed this amount from her loan payment. She has tried in vain to contact John in Finance, Nato in Customer Service, and another manager on-site, with NO response. If this situation is not rectified, we'll be taking further action. Too many additional fees, I went to find a truck, they brought it over from another location, the vehicle was filthy, and had a broken light, and smashed in rear quarter panel. So I look at a pathfinder, and was quoted a price which was reasonable. Test drove it, and decided to purchase. After they added 4000. to the price for pre-certification and warranties. Which was a mandatory additional expense. I expressed that I didn't want to pay additional warranties. I felt that it should be optional and not a mandatory addition to the purchase price. I felt like this was a scam. You go to a dealer and expect them to have integrity and be better than Joe smoe car lot. Very shady practices when you quote a price, then when you want to buy it, add additional mandatory warranty. I would not recommend this place. read more

Update: 8/23/28 I've had issues (increasing in number after my initial visit) with my vehicle that required multiple visits since my first post. To date, I do not know if it's the vehicle itself or simply the workmanship. The downgrade in stars is for the amount of times I've had to come in to have my vehicle repaired for the same issue. Every promise made was kept. For example, I was greeted immediately & my car was cleaner than when I brought it in. Prices were honored. The sales professionals were up front. Furthermore, a gigantic red poster with the President and Vice President of the facility is prominently displayed with a 1 800 to call in the event you aren't satisfied & or there is an issue. Impressive. Some form of accessibility. That tells me that customer satisfaction is at the forefront of leaderships mind. Not the traditional cloaks and mirrors to get a managers name! Nice, right? My car was attended to within a reasonable time, I had a diagnosis within an hour, and I had a courtesy car ready while my car was serviced. (Note the day and time of the appointment--I'm sure this varies on weekends) The service itself took less time than I anticipated & upon my arrival for pick up, I was again greeted right away and asked if I was being helped no less than by four different people. Although there was a line, I was able to return the courtesy car and pick up my Rogue within 10-15 minuets. Little things like a polite and attentive staff matter. This was my first time going to Nissan Edison, however, this has been the best dealership I've been to in the ten years I've owned a Nissan. That says a lot, because I've been to several in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia. Overall, I'm happy I decided to go. They sent me home for the second time in two years knowing their transmissions on Nissan rogues aren't reliable. Last year I was told they couldn't fix the banging noise I kept hearing that they said was part of the transmission. This year because my check engine light isn't on the car is " fine ". Nissan consumer affairs tells me take it to another Nissan and see if another diagnostic test will show any codes. If I brought it to the closest dealer on a tow truck what makes them think I'm going to tow or attempt to drive it to a Nissan further away for them to tell me they still won't help. Last year the car was still covered, now it's not because the extended factory warranty was up in June. They recommended I fix my front brakes but why do I need new brakes when the car is sitting at home to rot. But hey! they say the transmission fluid is good I guess I'm supposed to ignore the way it no longer drives smoothly and pray it doesn't give out in the middle of the road. The class action lawsuit for this problem closed last year. I wish I knew about it when they sent me away in an unsafe vehicle the first time. Nissan is negligent and refuses to fix the defective parts in the car and they make that clear. I thought it was wild that I'm approaching 70k miles and going through this, but I read reviews about other rogue owners transmissions failing before 50k. Disgusted. read more

After having a message I left ignored, I called and asked to speak directly to a manager. I was directed to voicemail 6 times. It was only after I said that I'm recording this call, that the operator transferred me to a manager. The manager (Lou) screamed "Are you taping this call? If you are, no one's going to help you!" Prices are not as advertised. We drove over an hour to buy a pre-owned car because the prices on-line were cheaper than those from other dealers. After we chose a car listed at $22,000, the salesman produced a bill for $32,593 - that is 48% in other costs, including $1,500 for work done to get it ready to sell, $4,000 for a warranty that I didn't ask for, and $2,000 because I had not bought a Nissan in the past three years! Unfortunately, I am writing a follow-up to my review posted here on 6/28/2017. I received a call from a former employer that the service manager, Scott Hirsch wrote to them via email, and personally attacked me in said email. Apparently, he took my online reviews very personally, and decided to attempt exacting some sort of revenge against me. I was absolutely appalled and upset in hearing that a professional that works in the customer service industry felt personally attacked by an online review and took it upon himself to contact a customer's former employer to attack them. The comments in his email likened my online review to extortion, and said that he wrote it so no one else gets swindled by an innocent face and fake tears. I have never been subject to such attempts at retaliation after simply posting an online review. His email ha Mr. Hirsch represented himself under his professional email. Thus, I reached out to a customer service contact there who said he would handle the situation of which he himself seemed to be taken aback by. Alas, I was told "sorry" and that I can be assured that he sent it to none of my other employers and it won't happen again. I let him know I would be updating my reviews to include this unwarranted situation. Scott Hirsch has yet to reach out to me and apologize for his behavior. I feel so uncomfortable by the whole situation and how it was dealt with, and truly hope that this company does not treat any other customers like this. My review is intended to inform any potential customers of the way patrons have been treated in the past here. Mr. Hirsch took a customer's right to review an experience, and turned it into a personal vendetta in what he saw as exacting some sort of revenge. I value my reputation and professional relationships, and it is not only uncomfortable for a former employer to receive a random email like this out of the blue, but the comments themselves were intended to be personally damaging. The behavior that Mr. Hirsch exhibited in my prior interaction that I explained in my initial review is 100% validated by this situation. The emails he sent were nearly 7 weeks after I left an online review. I never anticipated that after receiving bad customer service treatment in the first place I would ever be harassed so personally and vindictively by a service manager. He has felt no consequences that I am aware of, and I am left with the disgust and vulnerability that he could reach out under his professional emails to try to diminish and defame my character. I do not know where he received my employment history from, but that is also suspect and makes me very uncomfortable. My reviews have never been intended as an attack - it is within a customer's right to review a business online that serves to guide other existing and potential customers. Nothing but lies. In 2014 I leased what was told to me a brand new Nissan Altima. The car was even on the showroom floor. Fully loaded sunroof, heated seats, and auto start. The car even had her own line "Signature Series" (should have been my first red flag) but be it that I was by myself, naive, and it was my birthday I believed the gentleman about this "Signature Series" So basically that meant the sunroof and those amazing different looking heated seats, guess what all after market! Edison Nissan sold a "new" car with aftermarket parts added to and fabricated it as a luxury car. Here's where it gets interesting Nissan does not put allow aftermarket parts on their vehicles meaning everything is supposed to be authentic Nissan. This story gets much deeper but just take my advice don't trust these people. I've bought 3 cars from them and this is how they treated a loyal customer. Things are still being investigated.
