I am owed $1500 and I have contacted them over 10 times! I dropped off my car on 7/16/2021, it was a great experience the day of, Sylvia and her manager Brad assisted me with the transaction it was a delightful experience. They told me I would receive a check for $1500 within 7 days, I checked back in with them on 8/9/2021, with no resolution. I have contacted them multiple times, and still I have not heard back. I get nothing but canned responses whenever I do reach out and told someone will reach out, if I don't reach out no one will contact me. This is super deceitful I didn't expect this from them. I have been more than patient. This is absurd!

Don't bring your car here for service. They won't tell you they're keeping your car for the weekend and no one is in charge to help you.

Some people sell cars…read more Some people change lives. Two days ago, my sister lost her husband to a 9/11-related illness. The grief is overwhelming. Along with losing the love of her life, she suddenly found herself facing financial decisions no one should have to make while planning a funeral. As a 9/11 survivor myself, this tragedy hits our family in ways that are difficult to put into words. One of those decisions was getting her out of a truck that was becoming a crushing financial burden and into something safe, reliable, comfortable, and affordable. We walked into Open Road Honda in Edison hoping to find a vehicle. Instead, we found humanity. Our salesperson, Conrad Matthews, is one of the finest human beings I have met in a very long time. He didn't see a commission. He saw a widow. He didn't rush us. He listened. He cared. He treated my sister with dignity, compassion, patience, and genuine respect at a time when every conversation was difficult. There were no sales tactics. No pressure. No games. Just honesty, kindness, and a sincere desire to help. Because of Conrad, my sister left in a vehicle she can afford, one that is safe and dependable, with one less burden to carry during the darkest days of her life. People often say, "Customer service is dead." Conrad Matthews proved that statement wrong. In a world where it's easy to find someone who can sell you a car, it's incredibly rare to find someone whose character leaves a lasting impression. Conrad didn't just earn our business--he earned our family's respect, gratitude, and trust for life. Open Road Honda should be incredibly proud to have someone like Conrad representing their dealership. Employees like him don't just build sales--they build reputations. They create customers for life. They remind us that compassion still exists. Conrad, thank you for reminding our family that there are still truly good people in this world. During one of the worst weeks of our lives, your kindness made a difference that you'll probably never fully realize. If you're looking for a dealership, don't just go to Open Road Honda. Ask for Conrad Matthews. You'll understand exactly why this review has nothing to do with buying a car--and everything to do with meeting an extraordinary human being. Some heroes don't wear uniforms anymore. Sometimes they simply greet you at the front door of a car dealership with kindness when you need it most.

He did not know…read moreanything about cars and as soon as my friend came in he said lets run your credit and we pick the car for you. I have never been to a dealership where they run your credit score first before you browse their car inventory. Why would they pick the car for my friend? Are they buying the car or is my friend buying the car? The salesman kept going to the back and said he needs to speak with the manager and was wasting our time. If he did not know anything then the manager should have come and spoken with us. They picked out a Honda Civic for my friend which had 11 major recalls, they patched up the holes in the tires, and they did not even know that it was in a car accident on the driver side. Overall: This dealership is one of the worse in the city. The customer service is horrible, and they are not knowledgeable of the cars. I suggest this dealership to provide training to all staff members and even the manager because this kind of customer service is not good for business.

I saw the BELOW COMMENT by the purported owner William posted Mar 10, 2025 .It caught my attention…read moreas Bill's picture is shown as the Owner's response, inferring that he is onsite. To my knowledge ,Bill retired and stepped away from GT automotive at least 6 years ago. I've been there a few times after Bill stepped away and more times prior to Bill retiring. Perhaps he is still the owner on paper, none of my business. I believed that the new owners were, Julie and her husband. I did not go to GT to make friends, but high quality work. However, Julie is rough, arrogant and lacks any semblance of HUMILITY and appreciation of customers. I stopped going to GT as the front desk woman "Julie" was consistently rude and dismissive. GT does great work, however, Julie was a terrible "Know It All" . ************* July 17, 2026- UPDATE - Responding to the "Owners" response to my post of July 4, 2026.... As to my standards and expectations, Customer Service is not limited mechanical work, it also includes respect, kindness, being treated with dignity. IMO, the "Owners" response to my comment reflects an unwillingness to accept constructive feedback, the need and desire to try to insult, rather than embrace, hence, reflecting a lack of humility, or ownership, full stop. In possessing a civil litigation background, I ask questions, not intended to put one on the defensive, as it may. Julie's husband (a seasoned mechanic) is kind. I just could not tolerate Julie, who works the front desk, and for the most part answers the phone calls as well. She displayed impatience with my questions. She is the conduit to the mechanics. In any business, the front desk gives the best impression on the appreciation of customers or lack of. Julie should be grateful and thankful that GT Automotive is doing well. This is demonstrated in having a high bar on respect and kindness to all customers. My comment should not be misconstrued as a vendetta as alleged, nor do I consider my comment a "bad review" as further alleged. It is intended to provide an opportunity for Julie to receive and accept the feedback in that this is how she may come across to some. Yelp Guidelines is to rate the "Overall" Experience. It is my first hand experience. Unequivocally, I am not a mechanic, nor is Julie. I had not dealt with Bill on my few last visits, as he'd long ago retired, at least 5 -6 years ago. Once again, GT DOES GREAT WORK. ********************* Business owner information William G. Business Owner Mar 10, 2025

While the buying process seemed smooth at first, everything went downhill afterward. I paid in full and was told the title would be processed and sent promptly. Instead, I waited **six months** without receiving the title. During that time, I had to repeatedly call and follow up, only to get vague answers and little to no accountability. It felt like once the sale was completed and they had my money, customer service no longer mattered. Buying a car outright should be the simplest type of transaction, yet this turned into a prolonged and stressful ordeal. Not having the title for that long created unnecessary complications and anxiety. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a used vehicle here -- especially a cash purchase -- to make sure you get clear, documented timelines and follow up aggressively. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable.

I leased my first Mercedes here, then returned with my father and personally paid his down payment because he could not afford it himself. I trusted this dealership enough to bring them more business and was even considering bringing my mother when her lease ends. My first visit already involved waiting several hours before the transaction was completed. My mother became extremely tired during the wait. The dealership apologized, and I accepted the apology because I understood that busy days happen. I still returned because I believed they valued my business. During my own deal, I asked whether I would receive a Mercedes glass set if I brought my father in to lease another vehicle. I was told yes. The dealership had already honored another souvenir promise connected with my lease, so I believed this one would also be honored. Before my father signed, I raised the issue again by phone and text. My text said I expected to be "hooked up with a couple nice souvenirs" for convincing my father to choose Mercedes over another brand. The text does not contain an express written confirmation, but it shows the subject was raised before he signed. Nobody corrected me or said it would not be honored. After my father completed the lease, the story changed. The dealership denied the promise and turned the matter into a debate over which salesperson said what and whether anything counted because it was not in writing. I was also told the approximately $178 glass set might have to come out of a salesperson's pocket because he made only around $70 on the deal. I never asked an employee to pay personally. I asked the dealership to stand behind what I understood had been promised. This was never simply about a $178 souvenir. My family completed two Mercedes leases, I funded my father's down payment, and I was prepared to bring more business. It was about honesty, respect, and how I was treated after the deal was finished. I repeatedly asked to speak with the General Manager but was not given that opportunity. I continued speaking with a representative whom I believed was a manager, but later learned was listed as a salesperson. Dealership personnel then wanted the conversation moved from the public counter into a private office. I declined because I felt safer where other customers and employees were present. While I remained calm in the public showroom asking to speak with the General Manager, I was told the police would be called if I did not leave. I did not threaten anyone, become violent, or act physically aggressive. I became emotional because I felt humiliated and blindsided after working hard to help my father get this car and bringing the dealership a second lease. As a person of color, being threatened with police in those circumstances felt discriminatory, intimidating, and degrading. I cannot prove what motivated that decision, but I felt singled out and treated like a threat simply for remaining in a public customer area and asking for senior management. I attached a video because I do not want the dealership to later claim that I was violent or threatening. The recording is mostly audio, but it captures the interaction and supports my account that I was emotional--not aggressive. This was not just poor customer service. I accepted their apology, returned with more business, paid for my father's lease, and still ended up dismissed, denied access to the General Manager, pressured away from the public counter, and threatened with police. It made me feel unwelcome and discriminated against after my family gave this dealership two leases. I have filed formal complaints with Mercedes-Benz USA and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs so the full incident can be reviewed.
