The moment I walked in with my friend we were met with eyes. We were interested in all of the beautiful products they had, and had so much fun looking around, but we were being followed the entire time. There was 2 women and a man following us all over the place, staring at everything we picked up. Every time we walked in their direction to ask for help, they would walk away from us. They also intensely stared at us when we got to the jewelry section. I even made eye contact with one of the ladies since her eyes never moved from us. I understand a store owner's reasoning for keeping an eye on customers, but please be mindful of how often you are checking up on them. About 10 mins into our visit, a gentleman came up to us and started to lightly joke about our "boyfriends spoiling us" and speaking about how our boyfriends should treat us and having relationships with them. We started to feel uncomfortable since this gentleman was pressing into our personal life and guiding us towards the register. We did not get a chance to choose anything else to purchase, which is very disappointing since they had such beautiful jewelry options. Since we were specifically looking for bookmarks, I was trying to ask for some help. I asked the gentleman 3 times "Excuse me sir, I have a question." He just continued to ignore me and walked us to the register, while consistently talking about relationships with men. We both felt very uncomfortable and did not enjoy our visit. I do not want to believe that our experience was due to us being Hispanic women, since I want to look at the positive side of our visit. The store had some beautiful items for a high value, and the layout was nice. I hope other customers have a better experience than what we did, and I hope we can have a better experience if we ever do return in the future.

The entire experience was wonderful! The ornate exterior and interior made for a memorable experience, as did the great service and selected dishes! The wee one is not fond of tea (yet) and they gave her a tea pot filled with lemonade instead. With the rave reviews from the family I will make sure this is an experience they can partake in again in the future. I may join them or just the wife myself, although they told me this is more for the ladies and only a couple of men were present during their two hour leisurely visit (service was not slow, they just enjoyed the setting that much). They have an attached gift shop which they raved about too, and of course returned with a few items. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience, of which I got to live vicariously through.

Directions to the restaurant were clear from the street with good signage. One may call this an upscale tea room/ brunch: indulging dessert experience; depending on how you order. We skipped our breakfast to make room for the experience and we were not disappointed. Seating and decor was British colonial setting. The food was delicious and prepared well. The desserts were decadent and the TEA service was exotic. The food ordered was pasta Florentine and (rich and creamy goodness), blackened mahi over mango salsa was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Quiche was not bad . Mediterranean platter came with humus, roasted eggplant and Tabbouleh. Eggplant was sharp in flavor. Chai was served full of flavors and spices; green ginger tea flavorful and needed time to get to full strength. Raspberry in Paris Rooibos was naturally sweet and well scented. For the desserts we ordered strawberry scones with clotted cream, Italian wedding cake, hummingbird and the chocolate ganache. They were large portions and decadent. Importantly the owner made sure to accommodate us on the menu and was quick to respond to any issues. Isabel and Carline were exceptionally gracious host. Explore the grounds and gift shop on premises and savor your experience. Godwilling your experience is like ours and better.

Their menu changes seasonally and each seasonal special is always scrumptious. The menu staples that you must try: cheesy chicken crunch, any daily tea, smoked gouda pumpkin dip, windsors, broccoli salad, and the heavenly scones that come with Devonshire cream on the side. The scones come complimentary with your meal, but our family enjoys them so much we call ahead to warn them we're coming and order extras. It doesn't matter what flavor scone they're serving, they are all delicious; cooked perfectly, soft and crisp at the same time. I've yet to find any place with scones that can replicate or out do these, and since this place is over 1300 miles from my home, believe me I've tried. The scones here are so delicious that we even had them served at our wedding. Along with the daily tea they also offer a daily soup and daily quiche. This is one of the few places I've ever been where I've always been satisfied with whatever is coming out of the kitchen. They also offer dessert, but between appetizers, our meal and the many scones we have, there is hardly ever enough room left for dessert. Beyond the amazing food, this place gives back to their community. They participate in many of the local events, and promote the city. They host special events such as tea with the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and Mrs. Clause, and these events have been major memory making events in the childhoods of our family. We love any event they're hosting. When our father was going through cancer treatments and couldn't make it to join us, as he usually would, they sent us home with a goodie bag with well wishes written on it for him. They are truly good people that value the relationships they build with their customers. We as customers were just as emotional as one of the servers when they were leaving to retire, which is just one example of the bonds built here. While this is a tea room and fully supports any fancy tea attire, you can also come as you are, they're happy to see you either way. They also have many hats through out the tea room that can be worn or used while there. In addition to food, they also have a retail area and various retail items throughout the tea rooms within the building. My favorite time to shop here is Christmas time because they have the cutest aprons which are perfect for making Christmas cookies with the family. They also sell the tea that they make, pre made or just the tea itself (loose leaf or in bags), they're not gatekeeping, they want to share the goodness. If you want to enjoy the Florida weather, you can opt to dine outside on the front porch. No matter which spot you choose to take it all in, you won't be disappointed. We come home to this area nearly 3-4 times a year and we never come back without making sure we visit this tea room. My only warning is that the neighbors next door aren't cool and they won't share the obviously available parking, so make sure to pay attention to the posted parking signage when choosing your spot. We also recommend a reservation if you plan to come with a larger party since the different tea rooms can limit where you can be seated, based on availability. I hope you'll love this place as much as
