Vegan Monarch Bakery is an absolute gem in Winter Haven! I came in not knowing what to expect and left completely obsessed. My husband (nonvegan) ordered the Law of Attraction Burger and I the Amo Enchiladas & both were so good. The burger was perfectly seasoned and definitely the best vegan burger either of us have had.The enchiladas were super flavorful & comforting. You can really tell everything is made with love here. My wife and I just woke up and were starving. We were waiting at the front door, hoping to get it before the doors open when we greeted by Lala who was very friendly. We ordered coffee which came out pretty quick, but unfortunately was a little bit cooler than I would've liked. That was OK though because when the food came out, it made up for it. I ordered the heavenly biscuit which came with meatless sausage, grilled vegetables, mayo, and maybe something else I can't remember. It was absolutely delicious, I devoured it very quickly. I wish it would've been a little bit bigger but for $12 I think it was well worth it. I would love to go back. Try some more their healthy food. Lala was so helpful and accommodating, we are hoping that her business thrives so we can come back to visit in the future. I really like to try some of their sweets as well! read more

Walked in right at 9 am when they opened this morning because we were so excited to come here! We were greeted by one of the very friendly owners as she opened the doors. She graciously made the food and served us all the deliciousness. I found it a little pricy as it was $20 for the Chick'n & Waffles but it was so good. This is in that cute large hall near downtown in between Carlton's music and upper crust pizza. So many amazing vegan things! Mostly see the father daughter duo and they're so sweet! We adore Mika and her creations! I have been a LONG time fan and will always come out to show my support when I can. The avocado sauce on the loaded hand cut fries is delicious and sets these fries above all others. The storefront is clean, bright and beautifully designed featuring local art for purchase! A large part of the menu is now gluten free by default and of course everything is cruelty free and vegan. Will be back as soon as I can make it to Winterhaven. read more

We were so impressed with the pastry, but even more so with the staff. Fantastic customer service. Both of the people we met today were the sweetest. They love what they do and they are amazing at it! The cinnamon roll was by far the most delicious cinnamon roll I have ever eaten! Gluten free or not! Hadn't realized I didn't update since they moved from markets into a brick & mortar, nor that I've been their fan and patron for six years! They have a lovely restaurant in Winter Haven and serve great sweets, juices and hot meals. Mika cooks with love and care and provides a caring environment. She has games and puzzles available for those who like to hang for a bit and has quite a variety of vegan tasty meals from Mexican to Asian to Haitian to "American". She keeps up with her FB page so you have pictures to help guid you into her store. Haven't found a thing to dislike, except the fact I don't live in Winter Haven so don't get there as often as I would like. read more

We went on a Saturday and they were prepping for a family birthday. There was not any lunch food, so I cannot comment on that. But the desserts were there, so desserts we tried. Cheesecake - very disappointing flavor on the cheesecake, but the crust was incredible. Overall, 3/5 on the vegan scale. Cake - I don't remember the type of cake. At first it was difficult to find but after finding out the restaurant/bakery has a farmers market location as well as the store front it was easier to understand and find out way with the assistance of Mika. Upon arrival the space was very spacious and open as well as clean and airy. Mika was very kind and welcoming offering samples as well which made our order easy. The Black Forest cake wasn't as rich and chocolatey as most Black Forest cakes and had a cherry filling that was jelly like similar to a pie. It tasted like a chocolate cake and was moist so we purchased it for dessert after a generous sample. The Legume was delicious and very comforting like you were eating at Grandmas house so perfect for dinner. I however had the loaded nachos which had an amazing green sauce that added lots of needed flavor. I would have preferred the nachos to have been warmer but the flavor of the green sauce made it worth while. As an appetizer we had the empanadas with the salsa. And it was not what I expected. The textured protein wasn't seasoned and the dough had an aftertaste of bitterness or sourness it was hard to put a description to it. But there was no flavor at all whether plain or with the salsa so I'm not sure if I would recommend this item. Overall the visit was pleasant however the cost point of the food versus the taste is a bit debatable. I'm sure the bakery items and sweets are probably a better purchase if visiting. read more

Nestled in quaint downtown Winter Haven, you'll find a beautifully decorated vegan bakery and eatery. I heard many things about their Oatmeal Cream Pies sold at the @winterhavenfarmersmarket I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and was a little nervous they would be sold out. I happened to come at the perfect time! Mika, one of the bakers and author, was working the register. She gave every customer special attention and greeted everyone with her big bright smile. It was so nice to officially meet her after hearing so many wonderful things about her, her partner, and everything they have done to provide alternative dishes for the community. I was lucky enough to snatch one of the pies. It was the perfect amount of sweet with amazing texture. We were pleasantly surprised to find a vegan bakery in Winter Haven offering breakfast and lunch options. Their special of the day was a Legim/Legume dish (I believe it was Haitian inspired?) and it was one of the best dishes I've had at a restaurant (vegan or otherwise) in recent memory. 'Mama' came out and told us her secret to such amazingly delicious rice was to wash it extra thoroughly prior to cooking... just like I do at home! Lovely service in this place, but a few things were slightly disappointing: - They were closed in the middle of their regular posted hours with no explanation, right around lunchtime. I guess they were taking their lunch? Some kind of indication would have been nice, we drove a while to get here. Lucky we found a nearby vegan option for lunch. But after that when we walked back to the car, this place was suddenly open. - The actual menu options were much more limited than advertised. In fact, brownies were the only non-savory baked goods on offer at the time. - They did have pizza rolls, and my friend got one, but instead of being filled like you'd expect they were just solid white bread in the middle with topping. She said it was okay. - I got a to go dish after trying a sample of it. It was delicious! But unfortunately when I ate it the next day, the to go box was mostly white rice and not that much of the actual dish itself. Anyway the brownie was good and that dish I got was great--wish there were more of it, if I lived in the area I would definitely give this place more chances. read more

If you are in central Florida and you are vegan (and even if you are not) you have to check out V&M's Bakery!!! Not only is there food super flavorful and delicious, everyone is so kind and wants to ensure the food and your experience exceeds your expectations. We came in after finding them on Yelp. We ordered the Island Bowl and Chicken and Waffles, we were informed everything is made form scratch so there would be a bit of a wait, but we didn't mind at all! They talked to us and interacted with our 6 month old. The food was sooo good and we often don't experience finding great vegan food. The spices were life giving! We ended with buying some donuts and a piece of cake before leaving. They close at 5pm but were not in a rush to push us out the door and we were definitely there after 5pm... we are grateful we found this hidden gem of a place!!!b read more

This is THE place to go if you have food restrictions! Everything is amazing tasting and the gluten free vegan doughnuts aren't sad looking at all. They look just like a regular doughnut would look. It was good to find vegan food in the Winter Haven/Auburndale area. My only complaint is not so much that it was in the flea market, but that it was hard to find! (Hint: go to the fresh produce area that is to the left of the main flea market building, past the ATM and turn right; it's on your right). Once I found their booth, the food was great!
