An unusual combo - quesadilla stuffed with cheese and jack fruit marinated with guajillo sauce and then topped with pineapple, almonds, apples, and cilantro. Very unique taste, and delicious! I got the vegan enchiladas and my husband got the nachos. Both were delicious. The enchiladas were topped with fresh shredded cabbage and tomatoes which gave enchiladas a nice crunch in each bite. The nachos were light-not overly drenched in cheese or cheese sauce like you find in most pubs nowadays. You could taste the vegetables. The dining room is cozy with a good view of the street. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and welcoming. If our vacation plans bring us to Deland again, I know they will include a visit to De laVega.

When the order arrived, I was instantly pleased with the packaging. Everything was in order. Then I started the grand meal unboxing and discovered all of the various delicacies with the thali. My taste buds were greatly restored. All vegetarian food starting with the plain dosa, which was a perfect starter. Next I ate the roti with their chana masala which was pure heaven. Finally a good amount of perfectly cooked white rice with the curries and the stews. I found one of the curries pretty spicy but that's the traditional way of making it, so all good. Everything was so good. Cooled it all down with a perfectly seasoned yogurt rice with a lime-ginger pickle. The wait time was about 45 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. The crab cakes were delicious, but the sauce was a miss for me. It was way too spicy. With crab cakes, I think it's best to keep it simple with a tartar-style sauce, of course vegan. I ended up eating them without the sauce and enjoyed them much more that way. The tofu Reuben was good overall, but the bread was a little soggy. A thicker or sturdier bread might hold up better. Even so, the flavors were good and I enjoyed it. Last but definitely not least was the raw blueberry cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious! However, the sauce served with it wasn't for me at all. Thankfully, I tasted it separately before pouring it on the cheesecake because I would have been disappointed. The sauce wasn't sweet and took away from the dessert rather than adding to it. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed most of what I ordered. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'd like to dine in and enjoy the meals.

Thank goodness, because I had one of the best BLTAs of my life. The bread looked boring, but it was soft and the perfect blank slate for the seitan bacon, tomato, avocado, and mayo. Very tasty! My husband had the Tofu Rueben. The tofu was a thick slab and the faux corned beef idea would have been better as thin seitan slices. But, he still enjoyed it. Both came with a small salad of just lettuce. I enjoyed my meal (obviously) but I think they could improve their hospitality. Prices indicate a higher level of service. Maybe to go is best.
