    Corned Beef Hash
    Randa U.

We found this place as we dropped off our fur baby at the Chicago Cat Clinic near by. This is an old retro diner with counter service (and a few 2-top tables) that serves breakfast (mostly corned beef hash or some type of hash) with coffee and a smile. We sat down and viewed the menu that had plenty of corned beef hash options. I opted for the traditional CBH. You can see the chef (and I believe owner) making them on the grill. The space is very small, but you can tell the restaurant has been in tact for decades and the owner isn't changing the charm. The service was great, the restaurant is small but quaint, clean, and most importantly - delicious. I really didn't expect to enjoy my food so much, but it's really a hidden gem.

Very nice little breakfast diner. I always thought they only had coffee so I never went, but my buddy told me they are pretty much a restaurant so I decided to try it. And they did not disappoint. The retro breakfast diner feel, the food was amazing and the staff was so so nice. I got the steak and eggs and it was hands down amazing! They basically cook the food right in front and there are stools at the counter. It's a very small spot but they deliver big. I'll be back.

A year after my initial review, they know us when we come in, we eat here regularly, and I haven't found anything on the menu that I regretted ordering yet. Today I ordered the Monte Cristo french toast and I think it's maybe my favorite menu item yet. It's sweet and salty, it's filling, it's fresh and truly a brunch lovers dream. My boyfriend sticks to his tried and true breakfast sandwich, which is perfectly cooked every time. We love coming here. Parking is easy and free. Staff are so personable and welcoming. Food is delicious, portions are big, and it's very affordable. Don't sleep on this gem.

This coffee shop and diner rocks! You might not be able to get a seat because it can get very busy, but there are 12 seats at the diner and 3 small tables for 2. It is definitely a family type fuel here with a classic vibe. You can find oldies playing on the two TVs, with classic songs playing in the background. It was like a time machine back into 1980. Many regulars come in and are known by name. Multiple people working there will come and talk to you as well. Today I tried a bacon date and goat cheese omelette which came with a side of pancakes and hash browns, all for $14. The Omelette was different, with a combination of savory, sweet, and creamy! I highly recommend the spice rub that is on the side, which is very tasty and not too spicy. It is definitely worth coming back here, just might have to wait or come at a later hour. Customer Parking is available alongside the restaurant and on street, but beware that the parking lot sign does not indicate that Edgebrook Coffee Shop customers are listed on there. I recommend the business to make parking recommendations to ease the burden on the customers, but I had no problem parking her for 30 min.

First time here. Had to try their house corned beef. A smile greeted me upon entering. I was able to pick some sides to make my meal exactly how I wanted. Not many old school diners anymore. The restaurant is cozy and you can tell there are some regulars. It's clean and the counter is tidy.

07/25/20 - One of my all time favorite breakfast places. They have THE BEST CORN BEEF HASH I ever ate. I walked 5.5 miles this morning ate 1/2 of my breakfast & walked 2.3 miles home. Absolutely delicious as always. 2 other Yelp Elites I know Jacob & Tim H have been here 19x's each. I met Tim here one time for breakfast. He drove all the way from Naperville to join me for chow. What does that tell you about Yelpers & the quality of food served here. Edgebrook Coffee Shop is a very tiny diner w/limited seating on the best day, but Covid further limits their ability to seat and serve too many people at once. They did have a couple of tables outside but they are outside along Central Ave in the hot East sun. Still it's worth it to grab some of THE BEST CORN BEEF HASH I ever ate.

Smoked bratwurst hash on this week's special.

I really liked the assortment of cakes, pies, cookies and more available and will certainly be back again.. and again. A suggestion: While I was intrigued by the sandwich board I had no way to know what the sandwich would look like. Bread? pandora? Ciabatta? 6", 8", 10", 12"... or bread loaf slices? So my suggestion is they get some photos taken or make a few sandwiches wrapped and ready to grab n go. Make one of each and see what sells. I'd use sandwiches as a way to bring in customers who will then purchase a pastry or cookie.. or come back when they need something sweet. sorry, no photos... pastries were gone too fast and they were delicious.

They were all delicious and pretty good. The gentleman who served me gave me a generous portion of their homemade gelato which was creamy and flavorful. I enjoyed my experience here. I liked the variety of pastries and other sweet treats this fime establishment had to offer. I definitely recommend checking them out.

But the main area still gives a great coffee shop vibe, with outlets for laptops. Also, the service is great! The food was really good, I loved the chocolate croissant. It was melting all over my hand with how much chocolate it offered. The cold brew was great as well, it was a great boost after an outdoor session. I did pull out my laptop to work on stuff, I do suggest either your own internet or if you have xfinity, use the hotspot. Their WiFi is ok for work and such, but due to the business it does slow down a bit, which is an average experience. Overall, 5/5! Great location, great team, great food. Will be back!

A very nicely decorated place with great taste and attention to detail. I went with my friends for an afternoon coffee. We all ordered different types of coffee, and every single one was excellent. The adeni as always is a must have and always my favorite to get. The honeycomb bread and a smattering of other little treats we got from the display cafe that they have was also good and welcome to have in a typical windy day. I would note that even though it smells delicious in here with the coffee aromas, this does not would not be a good place to come to study. My fiancé and I stopped in as soon as they opened to grab some fuel for our roadtrip out of town. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door, bright and early at 6:30am. The baristas were super friendly. The atmosphere is nice and bright. Light wood tones and soft colors. Cute merch, too. The baked goods counter looked divine and wanted to purchase everything, but I stuck with a slice of banana bread. SOOOO GOOD. It was fresh, moist, and had the right balance of flavor between the banana and chocolate chips. Sometimes it gets too chocolatey, but the banana flavor was first and foremost. We ordered a drip coffee and a large iced vanilla latte with an extra shot. The drip coffee was fresh and hot with a nice flavor profile. The espresso used in the latte was fresh, bright, and slightly nutty. They have a La Marzocco, and you can usually expect pretty good espresso from those machines. I believe the vanilla was house-made, so bonus points for that. All things that I personally love in a latte! There was also a parking lot, so we didn't have to worry about street parking. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town! 10/10 recommend.
