This is a small diner set up with a few 2 top tables and counter seating. The service is friendly and the food was delicious. They do have the best coffee - smooth with no bitterness. I tried the chicken chorizo skillet and at first I thought it was a little bit salty, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Hubby tried the corned beef skillet and he enjoyed it as well. They leave the corned beef in little chunks. Our server was so nice, she brought over some Nate's gluten free chocolate chip cookies for me to try. You can park in the lot - but park on the side that is closer to the gas station. Or, paid street parking is also available. This place is a gem. Their corned beef isn't salty at all. Goes well with their bed of hash. Do not sleep on their English muffin. First bite, you can totally tell it's different. Grew up on Thomas Edison's English Muffin and will have a tough time not comparing. It was perfectly and evenly toasted on both sides of each side of the muffin. Nice ASMR btw. We found this place as we dropped off our fur baby at the Chicago Cat Clinic near by. This is an old retro diner with counter service (and a few 2-top tables) that serves breakfast (mostly corned beef hash or some type of hash) with coffee and a smile. We sat down and viewed the menu that had plenty of corned beef hash options. I opted for the traditional CBH. You can see the chef (and I believe owner) making them on the grill. The space is very small, but you can tell the restaurant has been in tact for decades and the owner isn't changing the charm. The service was great, the restaurant is small but quaint, clean, and most importantly - delicious. I really didn't expect to enjoy my food so much, but it's really a hidden gem. read more

Very nice little breakfast diner. I always thought they only had coffee so I never went, but my buddy told me they are pretty much a restaurant so I decided to try it. And they did not disappoint. The retro breakfast diner feel, the food was amazing and the staff was so so nice. I got the steak and eggs and it was hands down amazing! A year after my initial review, they know us when we come in, we eat here regularly, and I haven't found anything on the menu that I regretted ordering yet. Today I ordered the Monte Cristo french toast and I think it's maybe my favorite menu item yet. It's sweet and salty, it's filling, it's fresh and truly a brunch lovers dream. Nice little diner. Walked in for the first time ever and it was busy but was able to get a seat and quick service. People working there are friendly and the food was pretty good (they're generous with seasoning so you don't have to lol so don't add salt). This coffee shop and diner rocks! You might not be able to get a seat because it can get very busy, but there are 12 seats at the diner and 3 small tables for 2. It is definitely a family type fuel here with a classic vibe. You can find oldies playing on the two TVs, with classic songs playing in the background. It was like a time machine back into 1980. Many regulars come in and are known by name. Multiple people working there will come and talk to you as well. Today I tried a bacon date and goat cheese omelette which came with a side of pancakes and hash browns, all for $14. The Omelette was different, with a combination of savory, sweet, and creamy! I highly recommend the spice rub that is on the side, which is very tasty and not too spicy. It is definitely worth coming back here, just might have to wait or come at a later hour. Customer Parking is available alongside the restaurant and on street, but beware that the parking lot sign does not indicate that Edgebrook Coffee Shop customers are listed on there. Absolutely delicious as always. 2 other Yelp Elites I know Jacob & Tim H have been here 19x's each. I met Tim here one time for breakfast. He drove all the way from Naperville to join me for chow. What does that tell you about Yelpers & the quality of food served here. I heard that this place was pretty good online, especially for their burger, so I made an order online to pick up for lunch today. It was actually quite a large a delicious burger. Its like those somewhat greasy diner burgers, but it had some outstanding toppings. I went with the Pot of Gold which includes bacon, BBQ, and grilled onions. It was also pretty large for the price! I was satisfied. The only downside is that it does not come with fries, but rather hash browns or chips. I went with the chips which came in a bag, but were still a sizable bag and a good choice from Edgebrook Coffee Shop to sell. I will be sure to be back to eat "live". The place is a little small so Covid might be a factor, but it looks like the cozy kind of diner that are rare these days. We both got breakfast sandwhiches priced at $13 and they were hot garbage. I got fruit as a side instead of hashbrowns due to them being soaked in grease, and they gave me a condiment cup with one apple slice and 2 pieces of cantaloupe.. also was charged $2-$3 for the pump of Vanilla in the already over priced crappy cup of coffee lol... Quite probably the best corned beef hash you'll ever have. Let me put it this way: I never ate CBH anywhere, because even though I love corned beef and I love hash browns, whenever I saw CBH at a restaurant, the corned beef looked like tiny bits, the scraps of real slice corned beef. I must admit though, I've never heard anyone say that any of the other items on the menu are anything but great. Coffee? Great. Pancakes? Some of the best you'll ever have. Almost everything in this place is cooked from scratch. Service is brisk. The griddle is out in the open, so you can see how the cook(s) and staff are hustling. Because the place is small, you'll hardly have to worry about getting any help. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the quality of ingredients. Are there any minuses to this place? Well, it's tiny. I think capacity is about 20 customers. So I've been hesitant for years to write a review, for fear this well-kept secret becomes overwhelmed. I've decided they deserve it. I do recommend trying to go on off-peak times, just in case. There are pluses to being small, though, like the fact it's only about 10 paces to get your food from the kitchen. Found this place from Yelp search and glad we tried it out. The food was delicious. It's street parking, but at the time we arrived (around 11am on a Sun) there were spots available in front of the restaurant. Signs say order at counter, but a server came by to take our orders. We luckily got there before they completely ran out of corned beef so we were able to get one order of corned beef hash and ribeye hash. I also opted to get a side of mocha pancakes instead of toast and I could have ordered just those on their own as a dessert they were so good. Coffee was also great that I drank it black. I only add sugar/cream to bad/acidic coffee. Their coffee was nicely flavored and balanced. It's a very small space with mostly counter seating, but it did not feel cramped. I feel like the staff usually all take pride in the business and that usually manifests itself through great customer service. That's exactly what we have here. The food is amazing and delicious but the service is even better. Our server went out of her way to make us feel welcome, especially with my kids. Always a big plus and a reason to come back. Food- two words: awesome hash! Their hash is made with Yukon gold potatoes that are diced and come with your choice of meat and eggs. Pulled pork is one of my favorites but if they ever have the special smoked brisket, definitely go with that one! So good! They also have plenty of other delicious breakfast offerings to meet your needs. You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose.
