Clayton and Dre are darling! Truly wonderful customer…read moreservice here! I got the Mediterranean bowl modified with goat cheese and chunky tomatoes. Loved it! The champagne dressing was a little bit more vinegar than I expected so I might try a different dressing next time, but loved the salad itself. Would love if it came with a side of bread or croutons as well. Also appreciate that they have nonalcoholic bubbly, so I'll definitely have to try that next time and go back. Love all the couches and the live music on Saturday morning.

The Living Room at DC Ranch is such a comfortable, casual place for Happy Hour, dinner, wine and…read moredrinks. The name really fits because there are several different seating areas, including cozy groupings with soft couches and chairs, traditional dining tables, bar seating and an outdoor patio. There is also a separate larger room that looked great for groups. It's nice enough for a fun night out or date night, but the overall feel is relaxed and casual, so you definitely don't need to dress up. We went for a girls' Happy Hour, specifically because the Wine Wall sounded like so much fun, but one of the things I really liked about The Living Room is that you absolutely don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy it. They also have a reasonable, well rounded menu and signature drinks. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6 PM. The menu offers $2 off wines by the glass, draft beers, signature and well cocktails, as well as the bruschetta and flatbreads. So one person could come for wine and bruschetta, and someone else could enjoy a beer with flatbread, or have something from the regular menu. There are salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi rolls, food from the grillI, and starters. We first shared the Artichoke Spinach Dip. I feel like the dip is a portion for one, as you can see in my photo; it's in a small ramekin, but the chips are fantastic and sharable. I had the "fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp topped with a fried egg." The "steak" was tiny little pieces, not slices, but the portion of fried rice was very generous and filling. It's a "Starter" that was a "meal" for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices are. Now for the Wine Wall, because this is such a fun part of the experience! You're given a Tasting Card that works somewhat like a debit card for the Wine Wall. You tap the card at the WineStation, choose the wine you want and then select a 1 oz, 3 oz or 6 oz pour. Each wine and pour size has its own price, and every selection is added to your Tasting Card. At the end, the accumulated amount is transferred to your restaurant check as one "Wine Wall" charge. Our server was wonderful about showing us how everything worked. He walked us over to the Wine Wall, explained the system and dispensed our first glasses for us. Later, when he asked if we wanted more, my friend ordered another 3 oz Silver Oak and he brought it right to our table, so we didn't even have to get up again. If the Wine Wall is one of the main reasons for your visit, there are couches and tables right by it. You might want to choose that area if you plan on trying 1 oz. tastes of several wines. We enjoyed two excellent Cabernets from the Wine Wall: Caymus and Silver Oak. I had a 3 oz Caymus, a 3 oz Silver Oak, and my friend had a 6 oz Caymus and 3 oz Silver Oak. Our total Wine Wall charge was $83. We're already looking forward to returning for what will feel like a different experience by having white wine and sushi outdoors on a cool evening. I could definitely see The Living Room becoming an easy choice for a casual Happy Hour or dinner with friends.

But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.

The atmosphere was unique, the bartenders were genuinely engaging, and there was a real sense of community that made every visit memorable. It became my go-to spot to bring friends from out of town and every single person I brought absolutely loved it! Back then, the cocktails felt intentional and creative, not just rushed out for volume. The staff remembered regulars, conversations flowed naturally, and the whole place had this warm, eclectic energy that made you want to stay for hours. Even on busy nights, it somehow still felt personal. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, the vibe has changed quite a bit. The drinks just aren't as consistently good as they used to be, especially considering the prices now. Service feels far more transactional and impersonal, and the atmosphere that once made this place stand out has faded into something much more generic. It feels less like a neighborhood gem and more like a stop on a nightlife circuit.

We made our way down the stairs and the hostess was there ready to check us in. We didn't wait at all and got seated right away. Once seated it took a while for the server to come take our order. There was live music going on which kept us entertained for the time being. After about 15 minutes, she finally came over to greet us and take our drink orders. We ordered: 1 WILD STRAWBABY - Ocho Blanco Tequila, Bergamot, Strawberry, Pineapple, Lemon, Almond Milk $22 1 50 FIRST DATES - Bumbu Rum, Cascara, Brown Sugar Date Syrup, Coconut Milk, Cinnamon Sprinkle $22 1 BLUEBERRY MULE - Blueberry, Lime, Ginger Beer $13 The drinks didn't take too long and another bartender dropped them off. Water was never offered to us and was only given to us after we asked. All the other tables were given water once they were seated. Our drinks were good but we chose to just have one each and we left. The live music was great. The musician was playing the piano and kept it fun and upbeat. The inside is pretty cool and unique but service could've definitely been better though. *There's a $10 cover fee per person when there is live music*

Many trips to We Ko Pa, always wanted to try Ember and definitely glad I did last weekend…read more The delightful Amber at Ember was a fantastic server, very attentive to preferences and allergies. Brought us a complimentary glass of bubbly to start the evening and didnt let up on service throughout. Prices are not what you expect from a restaurant of this class, plenty of food. Our table ordered pate de foie gras Lobster bisque Fillet (best she'd had) Pork belly Largest portion of Sea Bass Lamb chops Veggies, potato and spinach So much good food. If I, and I will... did it again. Here's what I would suggest to myself. pate de foie gras is so delicate, TX toast overwhelmed it. The table garlic bread was really good... ill ask for more of that toasted Brocolini, cooked more... was very hard to eat. But definitely 5 stars Ambience is great, space everywhere around, plenty of room between tables, live music in the bar filled the restaurant. Dishes cleaned away as soon as you were finished. Note, therea a beautiful patio and fireplace outside for the cooler weather. Call them to book, credit card needed and they used OpenTable. We were seated on time.

Came here on a random Friday night at 6 PM on the way to Pine. Ample seating available and there was no reservation needed at all. The restaurant seemed pretty empty. They started us out with complimentary bubbles as it was our first time visiting. That was a welcome touch for the night. Drinks came out shortly after that and they were good too! There was a complimentary amuse buse offered as well before the meal. Tasty but it was lettuce and cabbage based so it was interesting and didn't taste as expected. Entrees were cooked well and steak was seared to medium rare. Sides were excellent as well. Lots of food I will add so had to box half the filet and a full side. Dessert as well was on the house. It was a espresso cake. Tasted well and moist but I wasn't a fan of the filling/icing. It just didn't execute completely somewhere. Which is how I felt about dinner overall. Service was polite, ambiance was great, the singer was sweet but something about the night was amiss...might have been how the restaurant was 90% empty on a Friday night But overall for a $160 bill, at other steakhouses this would have easily been $200+. I'll be back. I hope to see this restaurant busy in the future!

I'm gonna give three stars because the service was great at the bar and the server was attentive outside and quick although she didn't know the menu well. I ordered the cheese plate to split with my children and no one knew what was on it when I asked, but I was later informed that I got a tomato jelly and honey mustard as the sauces. To me a $30 cheese plate would not come with a container of honey mustard so I was not impressed. When I asked what cheeses were on it they told me there was 2 different cheddars. There was no way it was a cheddar it was a very soft cheese. I believe it was a goat cheese. The almonds were probably the best part of the whole platter. My husband got wings, which were very big. He enjoyed those and the sauce, and my other daughter got meatballs, which she enjoyed, but thought they were a little spicy, I find that usually when kids order things that are spicy servers will say just so you know that has a little bit of heat to it to which the waitress did not again, I don't think she was very knowledgeable on the menu in general .
