Definitely night and day personality from the day bartender gal who is a total B unless you are a regular (which we live right down the road). We went about 4 PM and he was great! 5 star service & 5 star food but prices are a little steep... $22 for a fried chicken sandwich, that is yummy! Also got sweet potato fries. My son has had the pizza before which was delicious! Lots of beers on tap and a full bar. I have a ton of friends that go here all the time because their kids are at the Ice Den skating or playing hockey so it's super convenient. Have you ever tried flour nachos? I didn't even know they existed until I stumbled upon this place. OMG, they are amazing! You can choose from all corn, all flour, or a mix of both, with options for beef, chicken, or no meat. They could use a bit more cheese, but they were so filling that you can easily share them with two other people. The service was fast, even on Saturday noon with a birthday party happening on the other side of the restaurant. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was attentive. Love this place!! Every item I've had at this place has been great. They have Molson Canadian on Tap and it is Ice Cold! I've never seen another place in Phoenix area where you can get Molson period. Always crowded as it is connected to the ice skating rink. I've been twice and only ate the poutine fries which are good and I will keep ordering it. The people I went with like the food they ate. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did and even ordered more to take home. The pizza was also great. We asked for it crispy and it was exactly that. The side salad was great and the dressing was perfectly spun onto the lettuce which was fresh and clearly not the bag stuff some lazy places force on you. The croutons were perfectly crisp and well seasoned. I've always said, show me a restaurant's side salad and I can tell you how the rest of the food will be. Eating out at Bar and Grills can be a crapshoot. Grills at local ice rinks are often some of the worst you can find. But niether of these generalities are not applicable to the 18 Grill at the Scottsdale Ice Den. This B&G has good service, decent food and lots of tables and seating. The seating area is expansive, with dozens of tables and a large ringed bar centering the room. For my visit to 18, I was attended to promptly by the waitress who quickly brought our drinks. I ordered 1/2 dozen dry rub wings for an appetizer, and they were excellent, hot and large sized. For the entrée, I ordered the "Join the Club" sandwich which was their version of a club sandwich. It was excellent. The ingredients were fresh quality, the bacon was hot, and bread was perfectly toasted. The shoestring french fries were likewise excellent, served hot, and gently garnished. Honestly, this is by far the best grill at any of the ice rinks. If you are playing hockey, skating or out watching a game at Scottsdale Ice Den, don't hesitate to use the 18 Grill afterwards for eating a meal. The staff are kind, fast and very helpful. The food is good and there is plenty of room for any size party. The prices seem a bit high, but this is par for course on any in-building grills at local rinks. The blackened chicken on my Caesar salad was good, but it is far too basic for what they charge you.

We stopped in for lunch as this was a local restaurant, located in the Ice Den. Apparently they see themselves as an up scale restaurant in North Scottsdale. We had a server who seemed totally disinterested in service and couldn't walk away from the table quick enough. The prices were quite high. My wife ordered a Caesar salad, ($15.50), to add chicken was an additional $7.00. The salad came and was a plate of cut up romaine lettuce, some shaved parmesan and croutons. Not exactly what could be considered good value. I ordered the cheeseburger ($21.50). I asked for medium rare. The burger was extremely over cooked and tasted burnt. The addition of a diet Coke was $4.50. It was not even close to a good burger. Red Robin is a far more tasty burger than 18 Degrees serves. We had been in 18 Degrees after a hockey game. The menu was limited due to the hour, but the food was prepared well and was tasty. We sat at the bar and found it to be very welcoming, even though the bartender was wearing a Red Sox hat. The shame of the matter is that we live very nearby and wanted to like this place. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. read more

Today was my 3rd and final visit to 18 Degrees. I skate at the Ice Den and really wish this were a good place. Each time I have been here I have been "greeted" by the bar tender telling me they're running slow (even though the restaurant is completely empty except for the side room of people playing bridge.). Immediately I know I'm an inconvenience and the others who came in were discouraged and left. I should have too. Bad service and bad, cold food. Excellent prices- gregarious servers & the best charcuterie we've ever had the pleasure of devouring. Imported selections of melt in your mouth cured meats (Prosciutto, Mortandela, and more) with a lovely wine list. The cheese variety was perfectly balanced with delicious sharp provolone, fontina, creamy mascarpone & fresh mozzarella & a gorgeous fig jam. We are zero carb 95% of the time- but their crispy flaky crust and chewy center bread tasted freshly baked and was too incredible to forgo! We also ordered the Kevin- Keto burger, served bun-less, topped with choices of bacon/cheese/egg/green chili sauce/fresh ripe avocado.. just WOW! Spin girls from Mountainside Fitness decided to stop by here today for an after spin class brunch. We requested to sit on the patio which was so nice, the weather was perfect. This was my first time at 18 and from what I saw and know, they expanded and remodeled. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Our server was very thoughtful and tentative to our needs. I ordered the avocado toast and added a poached egg for an extra $1.50, it was cooked perfectly. The brûlée grapefruit was amazing. Plated perfectly. My friend and I wanted to get lunch after our manicure and couldn't decide where to go. She said she hadn't been to 18 degrees since the renovations and I've never been at all so we checked it out. Got there around 12:30pm on a Sunday and got sat outside right away (our preference outside since it was nice out). The staff were super friendly. Some tables outside had umbrellas and other tables did not. Some had double umbrellas so we asked for it to be moved by us so we got some shade and they totally accommodated which was great. Their mimosa and Bloody Mary was delicious and definitely not a let down. The Bloody Mary was definitely spicy just how I like it. The food was cooked perfectly. When I get hash browns I always ask for it to be burnt so that it is crispy and most places just burn the top and call it a day. They actually fried all of it and it was awesome. Bacon was crispy and the scrambled eggs weren't runny. The grapefruit had a top that was caramel used which I thought was clever since it added to the taste. Definitely a good spot to go to for a good brunch. read more

The place was pretty crowded with various hockey practices going on, but were seated pretty quick. The server took our drink orders and came back for our food orders to give us more time to decide. The hot food came fairly quickly, but we were told the salads would take a little longer as there was something going on in the kitchen. The server came back 5 minutes later and said it would be a bit longer, but offered to grab us another round of drinks. The food finally came out and was surprisingly good. The wait time for the food is why I docked it a star as I am not sure what happened. Would go back though and try it again. read more

18 Degrees has great food, great drinks and is a perfect place to watch sports. I usually go after Thursday night men's league and service is always very good. My team usually gets the wings (dry rub are by far my favorite), and a plate of their nachos which are excellent. Their other food options all look extremely good too. They also have a large selection of beer and liquor to choose from. 18 Degrees is a great hangout spot, but I also think it would make a good place to have dinner with your significant other (as long as you can find a time when all of the youth programs aren't running around). This place could also be good if you have kids and want to go before/after/during their activities at the rink. read more

There are positives and there are negatives here. Positives: Incredibly cold beers on tap!! Nice and chilly in the dining area, even in the summer. Entertaining views directly onto the ice skating rink. You can watch open skate or hockey practice or talented ice skaters perfecting their dancing and twirling. Very sweet and upbeat servers. Negatives: Food is pretty basic pub food. Happy hour prices really aren't that great. Customers who come through often for their kids' skating classes are overly demanding and take advantage of the kindness of the servers. This essentially means that management needs to step it up come to their server's aid when necessary. I haven't had beer that cold in ages. I'd forgotten how delicious beer becomes at that temperature! Which is good because it made me forget how bad my sliders were - overcooked and burnt edges. The wings looked good though! Families were coming in while their other kids escaped to skating class. Parents would direct their children to other tables, but would proceed to yell at their kids from their table over the course of their visit. Not a great look for a relaxed atmosphere. Management should be able to handle those sorts of situations. read more

Asked for a water while he was standing in front of it and instead of serving me a water which was right there he said "I need to do something ill be right back" and 10 minutes later after he started prepRing food in the back I had to ask the league director if he could get me a drink. Very spacious inside with large booths. One side of the restaurant had clear windows looking into the Ice Den. They have entry from the parking lot and from Ice Den. The service was prompt and friendly. The restrooms were clean. The food is hit or miss. We ordered turkey avocado sandwich which was quite tasty. The bread was nicely toasted and had very generous portion of turkey cold cut in it. It also came with French fries which was nice. Also had the philly steak sandwich. The meat was a bit dry and it didn't really have much flavor but It came with generous serving of French fries. If I was here for Ice Den, I would consider eating here because it is convenient. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. My friend had Groupon, so we didn't pay full price so it was a plus. read more

Love that they upgraded this place and made the bar the central focus of the restaurant... before best I recall there were only a few seats for the bar area where now it seems to be half the restaurant sitting area. There are still plenty of tables and outdoor sitting, but if I have to opt for an area (depending on party size) I always opt for the bar. I come here for a few reasons... one it is close to where I work, I know a few of the bartenders, and the food is great. Because I have acclimated to the Phoenix weather I was freezing today at a mere 66-degree weather it was music to my ears when she said the soup of the day was chicken noodle. It was a very well balanced chicken noodle with the right amount of chicken! I'm sorta a chicken noodle snob as I make my own and though better (plug for oneself) this was top notch. The broth was also thicker than most would be used to but was a nice change. I washed down the soup of course with Molson Canadian (when in Rome)... but great! Service was over the top. Probably one of the nicest bartenders in the area. Not only was she great with me, but the way she interacted with her co-workers and every patron that walked through the door was refreshing. I know I say this a lot but not anyone should be in the service industry and she was one that those that frequent establishments respect. Will be back. read more

The newly remodeled 18° Neighborhood Grill is a hit! I have been here in the past before the remodel and enjoyed it, probably more a 3 1/2 star grill before has transformed into a 4 1/2 - 5 star grill. Service was a huge gripe previously, now, it's was perfect! Couldn't be better! The new menu, is equally awesome! We tried the "Shirt Rib Nachos", and by far is my favorite nacho plates I have ever had!!! Between the meat, and the candy jalepenos, it is full of flavor. Lastly, the atmosphere. It is more modern and inviting, however I do miss the hockey theme, but that is just me. Everyone will have different thoughts. I do however love all of the screen for sports and the huge TV wall! Enjoyed a couple of drinks here on a recent night. The place looks nice and was full of "hockey" moms, some in very good shape. First time here, so missed out on the "old barn" look, but place had a big bar and enough TV sets to keep most people happy. Good happy hour, interesting menu. Not cheap though. Great staff. Shawn & Sam especially. Any sport, but especially if you are in to hockey the only place to be. Fresh made soup, different every day.
