The food here was amazing! I was surprised that the chicken tenders and fries were made to perfection! The drinks were amazing but most of all was the service by Austin! He went above an beyond to accommodate us and was very pleasant. We had a large group and Austin was attentive and accommodating. We kept coming back during our stay and it was due to Austin's exceptional service! Thank you and would definitely recommend this place!

Spent the afternoon with Alan who took great care of us. Grabbed some lunch: hubby had the chili (sooooo good) and I have been on a grilled cheese kick and this was pretty good too. Loved the bacon on it but the soup was not as tomatoey as I like, but had great flavors. I got the fruity drink first (hey, we are at a resort) but hubby ordered the Margarita and Alan made an awesome margarita!! Smooth tequila! Second round was margaritas for everyone!! Good food. Great drinks. Awesome service!

This bar is awesome! The service staff work hard and are kind and thoughtful! The "passion on your Palate" is an outstanding cocktail, customized by 1 bartender to not be too sweet and then on Saturday the bartender added Tajin on the rim and I was in such heaven I had 2 in a row! The outdoor seating is lovely with sunny and shady spots and a beautiful fire pit that is toasty! Alternately you can sit inside and there are many options, not just at the bar. The bar also will serve the full restaurant menu including wine. The Daou Cabernet and the Pessimist Red are both available by the glass and absolutely delicious! Also get any of the desserts! I had the chocolate mousse cake the first night and then my last night, they ran out of that and the tres leches! So I asked for some berries in a bowl and the kitchen concocted a beautiful berries on a sponge cake with gelato and a ginger cookie that was out of this world! Thank you, Chaz, for the lovely service on Friday night! Last but not least the tomato soup and the fish dishes were great! A me to door dining companion said the salmon with the couscous was the best meal of several that she had! Last but not least, Friday and Saturday nights they have some music. I was there for the Friday night guitar player and he was wonderful, playing music from the 70s, 80s, 90s to current day. This bar was definitely a highlight of my day for the conference I was attending at the hotel.

    Cheers!

The best thing about this bar is the patio view in the evening. They light a huge fire in the fire pit, and you can see the backdrop of the golf course and palm trees behind it...beautiful. I was excited to see shishito peppers on the menu, but they didn't have that dish available during our stay. We tried the fried cheese curds, and they were fried to the point where the cheese had left the building! The shrimp and herb crostini were buttery and rich. Pretty perfect with the Hess Chardonnay. We also shared complimentary flat bread served with tart cherry jam and a tomato compote. The food was decent as was the service. It wasn't a stand-out experience, but we left feeling pretty satisfied.

A resort Happy Hour with a bit of history. Happy HourZ a-z Here is a wonderful resort bar happy hour worth visiting. First of all, you can't go wrong with just hanging out at the Scottsdale Resort. It is comfortable and relaxing. However, add to this thought of spending a nice afternoon overlooking a beautiful golf course while sipping on a nice happy hour wine, and you are in for a treat. Our favorite place is on the patio sitting around the fire pit during these fall time evenings. The food selections are very nice also. Nice presentations, nice portion size, and priced right. Add to that, appetizers are tasty to boot. As of this writing, the six Happy Hour appetizers and well cocktails are priced at $6.00 each. Wine by the glass is at $7.00. Draft beer is at $5.00. This is great pricing for a Scottsdale Resort. In addition, there is plenty of free parking or valet parking if you prefer. Here is a bit of trivia taken from a photograph on the wall outside in the hallway outside the Bar Six40. A retired Army Chaplin, Winfield Scott, purchased 640 acres of land (at $3.50 an acre) in 1888. The town was originally named Orangedale. Six years later, In 1894, the town changed its name to Scottsdale in honor of the founder, Winfield Scott. In turn, Bar Six40 commemorates those first 640 acres that were to become Scottsdale, AZ. One of our hobbies is sampling various Happy Hour locations offered in Scottsdale and Phoenix. We then add them on our Happy Hour website with information from times to menus. Check it out. Find Your Happy Place! Happy HourZ a-z.

Huge positive on the Bloody Mary, it was wonderful. I had the cod; and they were fine with replacing the french fries with avocado and tomato slices (gotta watch what you eat when you're old !). Wife's food was very good as well, albeit I was not a huge fan of the "flat french fries" that came with her meal. Pretty reasonable prices. Very good food. Outstanding drinks. We will be back.

Parking wasn't an issue in the large, complimentary lot they share with a bunch of other businesses. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical well-kept bar and restaurant. We sat at the bar, though there is plenty of table and booth seating if that's more your jam. Service (4/5): Our bartender was new but she was super friendly and accommodating. I had to grab her attention a few times, but overall, solid. Drinks (4/5): One of the nice things about The Parlay is that they have happy hour every day until 6. We took advantage of it for the last 45 minutes or so. Happy hour consists of discounts off of their cocktails and appetizers, which both are large lists. I enjoyed two drinks off of the happy hour menu including one with a huge smoke bubble. My third time having a drink like this and always a good time. I think the bartender got the ingredients off a slight bit, but she'll get better with practice. Food (3/5): The food is a hit and a miss. I had three appetizers: the fried avocado, the steak bites, and the pretzels with fondue cheese. The best of the bunch is the fried avocado. Think of an avocado deep fried in the same way you see a bunch of foods at the carnival. Pretty much anything is good in this format, am I right? Beyond the avocado, it was served on a bed of a corn and crema slaw of sorts which was delicious. Good portion size. In the middle were the pretzels. I love cheese so this is my type of appetizer. The soft pretzels were soft and buttered well. Solid but a smaller portion size than I anticipated. And lastly, the steak bites. They're served with flat fries and drizzled with a sweet sauce. Good portion. The problem. I ordered it medium rare and it was well done. You can't mess up steak like this. You shouldn't even serve it. The chef messed up so he or she should have started over. I'm not the type that returns dishes so I ate it, but it took away from the dish a lot. While I wouldn't run to come back to The Parlay, if happy hour is involved, and I'm in the area, I'd check it out again. Hopefully they can work out some of the kinks.

We were…read moreseated right next to the kitchen and bar station, which is never appealing to begin with. At the same time in my head, I was thinking well...we will probably get the best service. Boy was I wrong. The service was atrocious. We actually had to go up and refill our own waters because we couldn't get our server at our table. I almost felt sorry for her as it appeared her section was completely across the other side of the restaurant and they must've just thrown her our table since it was close to the bar. Please note that we made dinner reservations a week in advance, which most people are walk-ins. When we finally did get drinks that another server came over to deliver, he seemed like it was his first day as he was having a hard time setting them down. None of the drinks were full. It looked like they all had several sips taken out of them. I don't know about you, but that's not typically how I have received cocktails in a martini glass before. Then it was time for entrées. We ordered appetizers, the shrimp cocktail, soup, and the tuna tartare. All of them turned out pretty good so I was hopeful. Then the entrées came. I had the seafood risotto which I was very much looking forward to. It was greasy and cold. I don't know about you, but I like my risotto warm. My friend had a simple chicken Caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and the chicken was barely cooked. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with our meal. At this point, you could tell the staff knew we were not happy when we were having to get up and get her own waters. There was conversation amongst them looking over at our table so we started getting a bit more attention. Our server came over and would act like nothing was ever wrong. There was no apology necessary apparently. When we went to pay the bill, the only option on there is 20% plus for gratuity. So I guess she gets 20% for lack of service. We definitely will not be back. We did, however, go to Saint urban which is a sister property right next-door afterwards for drinks. The wine was a couple dollars cheaper and yeah, ambience was way better. Not to mention the service. I can't wait to go back and eat there. So I guess in summary the restaurant group will still come out ahead as I will be dining at their other properties but this one I will not be back.

You were a little nervous because it looked really packed but the Plaza had plenty of restaurants. So we thought we'll go in and try it out, so it was very busy on a Friday night but they were able to set us down within a few minutes. We got a great parking spot. The hostess set us down immediately. We ordered the ribs and glass of wine, the fried fish, and the butter cake for Desert Our whole dinner experience. It was probably an hour tops. Which was fine because we were hungry. The ribs came out so fast. And my Husbands fish came out immediately. After. And the ribs were super tender. Came with a side of onion rings. My Husbands fish and chips was a fillet portion of fish and reasonable amount of steak fries with the tiny portion of coleslaw and tartar sauce. It was very very good food. The wine was fine. Our service was very fast, but but good. I was given a nice warm hand towel to clean my hands. If I wanted to use my fingers to eat my food. Which was nice, but butter cake was absolutely delicious. Came with a huge portion of ice cream. I had leftovers which was boxed for me, which I love that. The prices were very reasonable. I thought we would absolutely go back if we were in the area. The ambience is very nice like every Scott restaurant. I would definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

We actually booked it on a whim that same afternoon while looking for somewhere with reservations. I didn't realize at first that it was the striking A-frame building we've driven past several times and always wondered about. Once we pulled in, everything clicked--and what a beautiful place. The architecture is stunning, the setting feels tucked away and peaceful, and parking was easy with plenty of space available. We were seated immediately at a corner table surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, which made the entire experience feel bright and inviting. One detail that really stood out to me was the quality of the restaurant itself. Even the tables were heavy, solid, and beautifully made. It sounds like a small thing, but those thoughtful details made the space feel intentional and elevated. The food was absolutely to die for. Every dish at the table impressed us, the cocktails were excellent, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared without being pretentious. It struck that perfect balance of upscale while still feeling warm and comfortable. From the beautiful architecture to the incredible food and welcoming atmosphere, Oliver's completely exceeded our expectations. We'll absolutely be back, and next time it won't be on a whim--it'll be a destination.
