Here I thought I might be the first one to review Eddies's Grill, though I've not ---- unlke my husband and sister-in-law and my daughters---frequented the place regularly over the years. I must say, the cheeseburgers can be superb...in fact, I just had a fabulous one, sans any condiments (as recommended by my daughter, one Janet G.) only two weeks ago...yummy. The beef is good, and the American cheese slice atop is melted perfectly, and it's not a skimpy slice o' cheese. I sadly report, though, that my chocolate milkshake two weeks ago was nothing special. I think I'll stick to water (there is a fountain at Eddie's) or maybe the tasty root beer. The juke box is great----quarters only---but one can reminisce. Though even young ones----my darling almost-9-yr-old niece, who's too young to really know the song---plays "Lollipop," her favorite. I wish everyone could experience some time at Eddie's!!! Go....just watch the peeps--the clientele (I observe the excitement in the faces of even 70-yr-olds who bring their grandkids, as well as the enthusiasm of the long-time workers. Example: Janet tried to purchase a few 20-cent long Eddie's photo post cards this past visit; the lady who had taken her cheeseburger order told her, "No, take these, you've been going here for years." See? The workers remember you at Eddie's, most especially if you've been going there every summer most of your life! read more

Where is the Beef? We ate burgers here on our trip. The burger tasted pretty good, I think. The problem is, there was very little burger to taste. The patty was so thin that the cheese might have been thicker and they cost $5. Nothing came on the burger itself. There was a condiment area for onion, pickel, ketchup and mustard. No lettuce. In order to actually have a meal, I filled my burger up with the onion and pickles. Pop/soda cost $2.50 no refills. Did not try the fries, went across the street for fresh cut fries instead. Would be hard to eat here again just because of the value. But then again, everything in Geneva on the Lake is way overpriced. read more

Cant believe the over priced Corn King hot dog. I paid over 4 dollars for this tiny hot dog on a bun. I don't see anything other than high priced Dairy Queen food. I actually make jokes to friends and family about this place!! It is a joke. Cute atmosphere though read more

Old school burger joint. Food is nothing special, but the atmosphere is a lot of fun. No really folks, the food is nothing special. The billboards along the way into town all advertise this as the "best burger". Not unlike rumors of my demise, they exaggerate greatly. (In fact, I'd be curious about the folks that proclaim this place to have the "best burger"... how long have they been smoking weed and experiencing the munchies?) But the atmosphere really is sweet. Reminds me of hot dog stands in Chicago in the 70s. Fun place. read more

Eddie's Grill is pure Americana and done perfectly. They didn't need to recreate the "sock hop" era, as they've actually been here since then. These are the best burgers, hot dogs, and slovenian sausages done in traditional style you will find anywhere. If you're expecting Five Guys, you'll be disappointed. Oh how I miss Eddie's. I moved far across the country to AZ and I still crave their cheeseburgers! Eddie's Grill is a locally owned and operated "diner" that hasn't changed much since Eddie first opened it over 60 years ago when he was 17. His family still runs the restaurant and they continue to keep the classic vibe and food just as amazing. Their cheeseburgers are out of this world and their hot dogs (add chili & cheese!) are to die for. They deep fry their hot dogs and it gives them this great crunch and flavor (ignore the calories; it's worth it!) Add a frozen lemonade from the DQ that is attached and you will be in heaven. Can't wait for my next trip back to Ohio so I can get my Eddie's fix! read more

Eddies grill. Hometown favorite. One of Geneva on the lakes best pieces of history. It's a seasonal business that does very well and has wonderful people behind the counter. It's been around longer then I have been alive. They always hire the nicest of kids. Unfortunately the food.. The hotdogs are excellent but the burgers are way too small for the price. As a bigger fellow, I have to order 4 to 6 to fill me up with a fry. read more

This place is classic and hasn't changed since I was little. My grandpa Mike K took my family here since I was little. Grandpa K has passed and I pay for my own meals here now. This place is pricey and I hate that You drop $80 on for 5 people. Granted I came here and binged on all the food since I live In Cleveland and don't make it here more then a couple times a year. The rootbeer here is the best. Burgers and hotdogs are just what I remember. Nothing amazing to the average newcomer but they remind me of the good old times. It's hard for me to recommend because it's so pricey and nothing fantastic unless you've been coming here your whole life. I know Eddie and family make a killing off people like me that come here because it's tradition. Eddie and family what would you do without people like myself that simply come here for reasons like this? I would come more often if I didn't have to spend so much. Eddies grille draws people based mostly on the nostalgic vibe + I highly buy into it as well. My friend and I find ourselves here almost once a week because of the atmosphere. It's just a fun and vibey place to be. Also the hot dogs are pretty dang good and end up getting one every time. read more

This is a must-visit anytime you come to Geneva. The food is typical grill food, with burgers, fries, and hot dogs. However, the food is A-MAZING. I got the hot dog and fries, and it was the one of the best hot dogs I have ever had. It wasn't a little dinky thing you would get at a baseball park, it was actually a big hot dog that didn't taste like mystery meat (must have been an all-beef hot dog). All the fixins are there to put on it. The fries were crisp and cooked perfectly, and they give you a lot. I didn't get their burger, but it looked really good as well. There's seating inside and outside too. One thing: they don't take credit cards, so make sure to have cash on you. Apparently they're stuck in the 50s enough that credit card readers haven't been invented yet...but seriously, it's a minor complaint that is overshadowed by the great quality of their food. read more

One of my favorite places to get a cheeseburger! An old fashioned style eatery featuring grilled food that is AMAZING! I have been going here since I was little and I have never been disappointed with the food. I love the atmosphere and the service is very quick! My wife took me and our kids up here for the day. She was excited as she grew up coming here. She stated that it really hasn't changed since she was a kid. It was a nice little trip lots of things for the kids to do and everyone loved the food from Eddies. It was packed so we ate at a picnic table by the lake. Wish I would have grabbed more vinegar for the fries though. The burgers and hot dogs were great! I would def recommend skipping the soda from here and grabbing a lemonade from DQ, just watch the brain freeze. read more

This place is pure nostalgia. Would the burgers and foot long hot dogs be amazing in their own? Maybe not. But sitting at Eddies and soaking up the ambiance, it's perfect. We try to go a few times every summer. read more

The best cheeseburgers (possibly) on earth, and worth the drive that takes us over an hour to get there. Remember, they are seasonal and closed shortly after Labor Day. So much to do in the area that it is definitely worth a drive wherever you are! Don't forget all of the wonderful wineries in the area, and a nearby trip to Amish country. read more

All they have is 1/8th Pound burgers, hot dogs, shade and bathrooms. The 'famous' root beer was flat. The bathrooms are disgusting, there isn't even a door on the toilet stall. Service was friendly and efficient and it was packed with a nonstop line the whole time, but it's a shame this is the best GOTL has to offer. read more

We went up to Geneva for the 4th. We stopped by Eddies for lunch. They have a small menu but what they do have they do it well. It's an old walk up burger stand. The food isn't very imaginative lol burgers and hot dogs, but they do offer a wide assortment of condiments that you can add yourself. Simplicity done right. read more

Eddie,s is the place to go. And Geneva on the lake is a great place to visit . I was a teen back in the 60,s and lived near Geneva . I uses to love to go down to the lake and just sit and relax and let my mind run free. I was 15 back then now im 65 and live in South Carolina . But now that im retired im planning a trip back up there soon . Eddie,s will be my first stop. read more

Stopped at Eddie's Grill for lunch today, it was pretty busy as usual. The food is getting a little on the pricey side, 2 foot longs 2 fries and 2 lg diets for a little over $19.00. For $3.30 the fry quantity is on the skinny side, the lg diet was also the size of most places medium. The food is ok, nothing to crow about, just ok. The draw is nostalgia, parents took their kids and now the adult kids are taking their kids, we after all are creatures of habit. Its a nifty place and a nice ride to get there, once there I think I'll get a Gyro over at Mikes next time. read more

We were told that Eddie's had the best burgers ever. So we drove 50 miles to try them. Major disappointment! It was a holiday weekend so the line was long but tolerable. We ordered a regular burger and cheeseburger and 2 fries. The burger was very plain. In fact, there wasn't much of it at all and the buns overwhelmed it. Tasted and looked like the pre-made paddies that one can find in any grocery store. The cheeseburger was equally un-impressive. The fries were mediocre at best. We won't being going back. read more

Eddie's Grill is a step back in time to memories or a time capsule to a time when most baby boomers were either an infant or in the making. We LOVED the Richardsons Root Beer that appears to have the root beer coming out the old wooden barrel (pooey on the health dept that does not allow root beer to come directly out of the barrel like it use to~~do you know anyone that got sick from this??) . We had the best time eating here and. THE ATMOSPHERE is what makes this place. The NOSTALGIC feeling you get can not be described....I hope this place is around for many years to come and remains just as it is. GREAT FOOD: HAMBURGERS & HOT DOGS the old fashion way....endless supply and variety of toppings that you can put on yourself. On our next trip to Ohio.~~hopefully next summer...will take my 12 year old granddaughter so she can see this very neat ;place. I remember being her age and going to Lake Errie and having fun picking up all the different colored smooth pebbles from the lake. Wish things now in 2011 were as simple as they were in 1950 when this neat place opened!!! My husband dreams of being younger and owning a little diner such as this!!! read more

My family have been enjoying Eddie's Grill for as long as I can remember -- all the way back to my great-grandfather who immigrated from Finland in the early 1800's. I recall driving down the strip during the summer evening months, crowds of people milling about, the bright lights of the establishments, and the wonderful smells emmiting from Eddie's Grill. I have fond memories of going up the counter as a young child, standing on my tip-toes, straining to see over the counter and watch all of the action take place. I can close my eyes and hear the orders being shouted to the crew from those taking orders at the counter from the hungry patrons who couldn't wait to bite into one of those delectible burgers, hot dogs, or even a sausage hoagie laddened with grilled onions and peppers topped with lucious mustard. OMG ... My mouth is just watering thinking about it!! If you go anywhere to eat at GOTL, make sure to stop at Eddie's Grill. It's an absolute for any vacation at Ohio's First Summer Resort.
