This is a review of the store from the 1970's. That store had everything and then some. My father had a fence business in North Arlington in those days and we used to source our chain link fence supplies from Economy Hardware. I don't remember the father's name at the time but his twin sons Carl and I think Joe (?) were there day in and day out. Apparently Carl's sons run the business now. A great family business. They were great 50 years ago and the fact that they are still there and still being run by the family says a lot about the quality and customer service of this family business. I came here for a second opinion on prices to renovate a bathroom and our sales guy "Guy" provided that and more. From the moment we placed an order with Economy, everything went downhill to a living hell. We found out the following day, they fired our sales rep with no explanation to us. Next, we had to clear up a few things on our order with Harold (apparently the owner) of the company and thought we'd be in good hands considering he does own the place. Fast forward 4 weeks later, I call Economy and they tell me "everything" has arrived and they'll call me back the next day to set up delivery for that Monday. What do you know, NO ONE CALLS ME!! It's now Monday and our contractor starts work on our house and Economy never calls me to schedule shipment of all our supplies. Then Economy rushes to deliver our supplies that we ordered, only to find out when the delivery guy arrived, we have items on back-order, and when I initially called that morning, I specifically asked if anything is on back-order or missing and the owner Harold says no. The owner then makes up excuses on the back ordered items and doesn't bother to find out "when" the items will be arriving so we initially received 65-70% of our order. Secondly, our bathroom cabinet comes un-drilled with holes for the knobs which were supposed to be installed beforehand. Not only did we ask for this but it's on our quote. It's not a big deal as our contractor can take care of it but it's something Economy screwed up on. Thirdly, I have to call Economy over and over and over and over again for a status on the back order items. Then, I find out 20% of my will be delivered a few days later. Not only does Economy NOT call me about my shipment AGAIN but their delivery driver is 15 min away from my house, and thank g-d my contractor was home to receive the order. Fourth issue, as of today, I call Economy probably for the 30th time in less than a week to find out they are shipping out an item on our order that we didn't even know was back-ordered. All in all, a company can have competitive pricing but without any customer service skills, at all, this place should and will be going out of business. It makes places like Amazon more appealing. Not only does the owner not care but has the audacity to argue with me on occasion as I'm extremely frustrated with their customer service. The least they can do is provide a discount to my total order for this disgrace of a company and how they treat their customers on all levels. Also, to this date, I had to cancel a few items as they couldn't receive them in time and Economy had just about 2 months to process the entire order. There is ZERO accountability from Economy as they continued to point the finger elsewhere and I will forever boycott this company moving forward. read more

Very nice staff. I've been here for keys, and various hardware. It's our neighborhood hardware store. They have a wide variety considering they are a small store. They also have some very nice kitchen and bathroom cabinets, faucets, sinks and tubs. Check them out! read more

I called and made an appointment for kitchen cabinets that would have cost around 15-20k. After seeing reviews on here about their lack of mask wearing, I specifically asked if people were wearing masks in the store and was told, YES! When I arrived, there was a worker in the front with his mask around his neck who put it on after I glared at him, another worker in the back had no mask at all. I proceeded to the third floor and found another worker with NO mask. I was FURIOUS, told the guy I had an appointment with that I would NOT do business with a company that BLATANTLY disregards my health and NJ State mask mandates!!! read more

I've worked Economy for many years. I have never had any complaints with any of the staff or products purchased. I used them for all my bathrooms and when one of my faucets leaked after 10 years, they called the manufacturer and got a piece to solve my problem... great service! read more

Pirch (in Paramus) closed in the middle of my home renovation so I needed another supplier for California Faucets. I wound up ordering from eFaucets because it took Economy Supply too long to process my order. After repeatedly following up on the status of my order the sales associate told me that he would complete it "in a few hours" and "today." Unfortunately neither came to pass. I gave them two stars because the sales staff provided me reasonably competent advice on the plumbing configuration that I originally wanted. read more

The staff is usually friendly and knowledgeable, with the exception of a chubby female cashier who tends to have a snotty attitude and gives sarcastic answers - one time I was buying bed bug spray there, and she went out of her way to tell me that she considers all people who have bed bugs to be 'dirty'. When I explained to her that it's possible for anyone to catch bed bugs anywhere, such as a movie theatre or subway, she snootily replied that she doesn't go to those places. The next time I went there she again used the word 'dirty' again with respect to a terra cotta cup that I was drinking out of. Clearly she is the bad apple of a group of otherwise courteous and professional people. read more
