Just a quick update: I used these guys again for a long distance move from Cincinnati to Georgia and they were once again a great company to work with. We hired Robinson Relocations back in June for a fragile pack of kitchen and artwork and to load…read moreour POD and I certainly would not hire them again. We had issues from the beginning with the professionalism of the work. First, we didn't know when they were coming and they just showed up day of. I think they may have given us a window but no other warning other than that. My husband supervised them and noted that they took multiple smoke breaks, even leaving cigarette butts on our property. They also left energy drink cans in our garage, left some of our stuff loose without packing that my husband ended up having to pack, left a set of keys to who knows what, and left several moving blankets in our home that were not ours. Most importantly, we had adhesives on the walls for a bookshelf and they tore those off the walls despite my husband asking them not to which took the paint and some of the drywall off and ending up costing us $200 (which thankfully they reimbursed). The claim process was pretty easy to get the reimbursement, but apparently you can only file one claim, which I didn't realize and made my further claim null when I tried to file another claim for the items that broke during our move. After we moved and we unloaded our POD, we had many issues with how things were packed. We did have our stuff in storage for three months so I am not sure how much that impacted how well things were maintained, but there were obvious errors they made that ended up costing us many of our items. For example, heavier boxes being packed on top of lighter boxes (the movers we hired to unload our POD told us that was an obvious error). We also had a table whose legs were not taken off and therefore was ruined in the move as a leg was ripped off. The same thing happened with one of our night stands that was not wrapped properly and a leg was torn off. Our couch was not wrapped properly, the couch cushions were shoved on top of everything else without any wrapping or cover and all fell out when we unloaded it. Our mattress was not fully covered and got wet. A lot of our fragile items were seeming just poured into boxes. Most of our artwork was not wrapped properly and some were even shoved into boxes that they didn't fit in. It was remarkable that we only lost a few mugs and the rest of our dishes and art were intact. Not a huge deal but we did lose most of our boxes which in previous moves we have been able to reuse. Like I said I filed a claim for some of these items and was told that the claim I had filed earlier I signed a paper that said I couldn't file a claim again. So just be aware of that. They also claimed that none of this was actually their fault, which I would presume any company would do, and would blame the packing of the boxes by the customer (which they did for some of it), the POD and how it was transported (which they did for others), or the unpackers. Because of this, I would recommend going with a full service mover if possible, as I feel they would have treated our things nicer if they knew they were responsible for it through its journey. Unfortunately, since we needed to store our items for a few months, we didn't have that luxury. This was also a very expensive move. About $2k for 4 hours of work. I've attached some photos to showcase the work they did and some of the errors they made. I was really looking forward to working with this local company after seeing many positive reviews but unfortunately we had a very poor experience and would not recommend.

I was notified a day or two before about my moving team members--Gunner and Sam--via email; the email even had their pictures, which was nice since you knew who to expect at your front door. Gunner was the captain of the team, and he was punctual. He even called a little bit before the scheduled time to let me know that he was on the way. Though the remainder of the team was a little late, Gunner did not let that deter him and just got started by himself. He loaded the majority of my stuff by himself within 30 minutes. 30 minutes! Once Sam got there, they tackled the bigger items right away. They might not be professional movers, but I was thoroughly impressed that they were able to get my huge sofa down a narrow staircase and tricky front doors (yes multiple) system without causing any damage. They had to reconfigure things a couple of times, but they were very cognizant of glass doorways or light fixtures that could potentially be damaged in the process. I estimated that the move would take 3 hours, but they finished everything within 1.5 hours. They were so efficient and did not really stop for breaks, which is the first time that I've seen this for movers. I was only charged for the time that they worked, so all was good. Their enthusiasm while they worked was a nice change of pace. Moving is already stressful, so it was just plain nice to have movers who were courteous while still enjoying their work. Bellhops aren't professional movers, but I didn't mind because I don't own any fancy items like armoires for fine china or pianos. If you do have fancy things, Bellhops may not be for you. If you just need a helping hand with your move, I cannot recommend Bellhops enough. I've been telling all my friends already, that's how good they are.

I've also NEVER had movers try to charge me nearly $1000 to move a small 2-bedroom apartment! It took their inadequate movers 7 hours to complete a job that has never taken more than 3 hours (what we agreed on) to finish! Absolutely ridiculous. They kept taking breaks and purposely kept dragging the time out. One mover kept standing around just *watching* the other guy and was distracting him with conversation instead of getting off his OWN butt to do the work he was paid to do. This same guy dropped one of my storage cabinets down the steps because he was barely holding it. The Team Lead tried to warn him about that, but it was too late - ALL of my items were all over the hallway. They both swore that everything was placed back inside the cabinet and that I shouldn't worry. But nope! Once I was settled into my new place and took a look - several items were missing, including my expensive flat iron. I'm so pissed. The Lead was friendly and apologetic, but honestly didn't have the stamina to move items for an extended period of time at all. Lastly, they broke one of the legs on my bedroom chest. They also bent up the back of my portable closet. I called Bellhop (3) times DURING the move so that they could keep track of everything. And (3) more time afterwards. In the end... they failed to resolve this massive issue. They REFUSED to allow me to speak with a Manager as well. They took $100 off but still wanted to charge me $900! For a move that should have costed $400-$500 TOPS? Are you freaking serious? I have now filed a dispute with my bank over this charge. I want my money back for the extra they charged me. I shouldn't have to pay for your awful movers miserably failing to do their job properly or on time. FYI: Bellhop finds your movers last minute. They *do not* work for this company! They also do not provide them with any tools either. Like WTF? Don't waste your time with these unprofessional people. You've been warned.
