Nick didn't exam the interior rooms of my house. However, he did go into the attic and he told me I had termites there, as well as a few spots on the exterior. It was expensive to treat a few exterior areas and the attic. I wanted a second opinion, so I had another company inspect and give me a quote. He found termites in a front bedroom that Nick missed because he didn't check the rooms. Nick also missed a termite area in my garage. If I could give a company negative stars, I would. I've been a "customer" of Ecola for almost 10 years, faithfully paying the yearly contract fee. Tip: Don't waste your money. My wood floors are chewed up. To top it all off: 1. Their manager "forgot" an appointment 2. Their definition of "as soon as possible" is over a month away 3. They reschedule appointments at their convenience, not yours. Usually with a lengthy time window so you are stuck waiting around for hours. 4. Our spider problem has actually increased since they started "addressing the problem" 5. No one in the office seems to know what is going on (except for Angie. That woman deserves a raise) After years with Ecola, I'm signing off. My family and I have had a great experience with Ecola. Nick came by to inspect our home back in 2014 when we first bought it. He truly is an expert in this field! Immediately, after inspecting the cocoons and droppings on my wall and floor he told me exactly what insect I was dealing with. From all the different companies I called to inspect my home, he was the ONLY inspector to get the correct diagnosis! After taking the extra time to talk to me about the type of insect we had and what my options were to get rid of it, he cleaned up the cocoons on my wall free of charge!! He had so much integrity when dealing with me and my family that he truly left a positive impression in our lives. Beware of Ecola!!!!! The termite lady sent her manager out to my house. His name is Mike Spraugh and i will never allow him on my property again! Not only was he aggressive with the technician, condescending to my wife, but he was very pushy for me to buy the 2 year warranty. He was only worried about the money and not customer service. After they left I talked my neighbor who has used them in the past, and she said she had caught them sleeping underneath the house. Stay away, far away. read more

Inspector failed to show up for scheduled appointment. When I called Ecola, they flatout lied to me. The first person I spoke with advised me that she saw no appointment scheduled. She then asked me for the name of the inspector. I gave her the name, and she told me that there was nothing on his schedule for my property and asked me hold. After a lengthy hold, a second person came on the line and told me that the inspector showed up at 2:00, and nobody was home. That was a lie. My roommate had been home all day, and I had been home since 12:30. There is no way we both would have missed a knock or the door bell, and why two different conflicting stories from Ecola? Ecola doesn't even deserve one star but no option for zero star. Well I was highly recommended to ecola from a friend at church. First the inspector spent about 30-40 mins on the inspection and didn't even bother to crawl under my house. He went in the attic and garage and said oh you have dry wood termites. I receive a report a week later and was given a choice of spot treatment or tent the house. I called the inspector to ask for professional advice and was told my infestation wasn't that bad so I paid over $1200 for spot treatment. After a couple more inspection from other termite company I decided that Ecola was the best choice due to the 2 year warranty. The inspector/ salesman was very convincing and kept pushing the yearly $250 plan. The company never called and never re inspected the house within the 2 years warranty as promised from the inspector. But they did call to ask me to sign up with the $250 yearly plan after the 2 years were up. Ecola was nice enough to extend my warranty for another year due to false promises made by the inspector which by this time he was no longer with the company. So I decide to have Ecola inspect my house and treat any area where I have termites. AGAIN NO INSPECTION UNDER THE HOUSE!!!! The Ecola rep was very nice and gave me sad stories about how they don't get paid unless I sign up with the $250 yearly plan. Also he mention they are all on commission so they need to sale to make money. He ask me where do I see signs of termites. I reply "I don't go around under my house and attic looking for termites". Isn't that your job I replied. Shortly after my warranty expired. My wife found droppings......... Guess where??? Yep from the hard wood floor under the house. I called Ecola and confirm what the first inspector told me which was droppings from termite are not visible until 3-4 years. The Ecola on the phone agreed with that statement. So the termites were under my house from the first day Ecola inspected my house. Bottom line is this company is all about $$$$$$ and not what is best for the home owners. Every time I get an email or see the "termite lady" on TV stating they are number 1. I feel so sad knowing they are just trying to make that sale. This experience was a blessing in disguise as my other friend spoke highly about another termite company which did a very very thorough inspection. First he took about 3 hours and found 8 colonies of termites under my house and 2 in the attic. This other company also explain to me that fumigation is best as you cannot see what is behind the walls in your house like the expose garage. read more
