Came out for the American Hi-Fi & Eve 6 show at the Echoplex, and overall had a solid experience. First off, getting there can be a little tricky if you're not familiar with the area, tucked under Sunset Blvd., the Echoplex entrance is down a discreet alley off Glendale Blvd., with minimal signage. If you're not paying attention, you might miss the turn entirely. Parking can also be a hassle, so rideshare or arriving early is your best bet. The good news? They've fixed their ventilation issue. The air-conditioning was pumping last night, and it made a big difference. It didn't feel stuffy or overheated like in the past, which is huge for a packed, high-energy show. I was front and center and had a great view of the stage. The sound quality was decent, crisp enough for a smaller venue, though not the cleanest mix I've ever heard. The middle of the floor can have slightly distorted sound as the speakers banks are on the side of the sage. If you're standing toward the back, I can see how sightlines might be slightly obstructed depending on the crowd, but it's manageable. Bar service was efficient with multiple drink lines but be prepared for typical LA venue prices. A 16 oz. can of Liquid Death water set me back $6. All in all, I'd definitely come back for another show. The vibe is gritty but real, and the energy in the room when the band's playing is hard to beat.

I enjoy visiting this small venue. I've had a chance to watch a couple of my favorite bands, and it was a great time! The entrance is in the alley along Glendale Blvd. Parking is decent. There's metered parking on the nearby street and a lot just a block east of the venue (on Lemoyne St), with mobile app payment availability. If you're lucky, you may snag a spot for free (after a specific time) along Glendale Blvd and near Echo Park Lake. I usually park in the paid lot since it doesn't cost much and it's lit. Upon entering the venue, security and walk-through detectors only take a few seconds. They do check bags for content and size. Be sure to check the website for restrictions. The staff has been chill for the most part, as well. The bathrooms are clean, which is a big plus. Inside, the space is small but spacious when it isn't packed. It's been comfortable when I've been here. The stage is average height, but people in the back still get a decent view. The sound overall is good. There are a few muffled areas, but it is still enjoyable from anywhere. The inside ceiling support pillars block a little of the view but also have shelves to rest your drinks on. Some VIP seats are on the front side, and benches are along the back walls if you need to sit. There are also two bar areas to quench your thirst. Inflated drink prices are expected with venues like this, and all transactions are cashless, so be sure to bring your cards. If merch is available, it will be stationed along the back area. I am looking forward to more concerts here!

Came here to see Clipping. The venue was great and I don't have any complaints except having to walk around the building to enter, but you can exit through the other part of the venue? Didn't really make sense to me, but whatever.

BEWARE of this bartender with glasses. Worst experience EVER as a customer ordering a drink. I was waiting to get a drink in the side of the bar,the bartender saw me,came to me and started to almost yell at me,saying that that's not a place to order a drink(there's not a sign in place that says that) and that there's actually a line of people waiting to get a drink (there was not) and that's she's doing me a favor getting me a drink.I said I was sorry,I didn't know, and she proceeded to just get my drink and charge me being really mad,she snatched my card from my hand and didn't show me the machine to see the price and the tip.I did not get the chance to tip which I would have not tipped since that was an awful service and then she made me cry.Basically ruined my whole night. Later,my husband went to get another drink for him, never told her anything about me,and he also had an awful experience with her,she literally snatched his drink from him and didn't want to give it to him.Pretty ridiculous! I don't know what kind of venue this is that their staff treats their customers like this! I will NEVER come back here, and if you come here just make sure to NOT get a drink with her,Do NOT tip her and honestly,I hope she got fired by now, this incident happened in August.

I am rating this location based on what purpose it appears to serve, which is to be an almost grimy, underground concert venue that serves alcohol and caters to the artsy alternative people who have moved to live in this area (many ostensibly from out of state). I rarely go to concerts, but I knew I had to make the journey to see my girl, Rachel Chinouriri. The information surrounding this event could have better handled, namely I was confused about where the Echoplex was, and why it was impossible to access it from the Echo, even though they appear to be the same building. I had to walk around a block and go under a bridge to find this venue. Thankfully I am a cis man with good GPS-guided navigation skills, but my goodness it is not ideal trying to get to a concert in the evening like that. Separately, I wish people had better concert etiquette. Please do not fill the deliberate path I have preserved for safe exit. And please do not block my view that I had curated for maybe half an hour by standing and adjusting my position in the same spot. People have no social tact these days, my goodness. Honestly, I was happy enough to be in this space with the singers, although I forgot to bring a mask and was super paranoid about catching some airborne virus (COVID isn't over folx!). I luckily was healthy still after leaving. I enjoyed the experience of live music. I enjoyed crying to Rachel Chinouriri pontificating about love. I enjoyed singing along to my favorite songs of hers ("Hills" and "Never Need Me"), the latter of which appears to be her most popular song as everyone was noticeably singing along to it. Would I return here for another concert? Maybe if one of my favorite acts performs here. But Rachel Chinouriri was a rare opportunity and I don't think I want to bother with trying to find parking (or driving in general) in Echo Park ever again.

Ask the Community - Echoplex

Are there sitting areas? Or seats at the bar area?

There are seats lining the sides of the venue and then also in the back where they sell merch. No seats at the bar though.

How can I contact them? The phone number listed does not go through.

Do the food vendors still come every Wednesday? I just want to eat jerk chicken tacos and oxtail

Where's the entrance to Echoplex?

on Glendale Avenue, right below sunset!

Is this an indoor or outdoor venue? Thanks! :)

It's mostly indoors. The stage & two bars are inside. There is a large patio that appears to be a smoking section.

Is it 18+?

It depends on the show. Some will be 21+, 18+, or all ages. Check their website for specific dates/shows.

I've tried multiple times / ways to ask the venue about seating options for the Honorary Title show on 6/2... I've never been to this venue and I'm 8.5 months pregnant. Are there options for seating?

The walls are lined with booth seating. I'm partly disabled & have never had any difficulty snagging a spot to sit.

Whats the best place to park?

Don't tell anyone, but here's a little secret between us yelpers... The best place to park is at the old school French restaurant Taix, across the street on Sunset Blvd. It's valet $5.00, just make sure you ask what time they close before you leave… Read more

Age to get in?

depends on the event. most are 18 over but been there when it was 21 over only.

Is there handicapped seating?

No it's standing/general admission.

We started off with many appetizers. We tried the fries with and without truffle. I would say it's okay to skip the additional truffle since they combine it with parmesan -- would only get if you're a fan of both! Also, a lot of the entrees come with a side of fries! The brussels sprouts were amazing and had a lot of different layers of flavors, both sweet and smoky. The green beans were good, but not a must get! The calamari was fried well but the pieces were a bit small. I ordered the burger as my entree. It was a huge burger and came with a side of fries. I loved the bun and it was quite fluffy. The flavors of the burger with the meat, sauce, cheese and pickles pair well together. I do think some parts of either my bun or patty were a bit burnt and you could definitely taste that. For dessert, we got the bread pudding which was AMAZING! Would definitely recommend, it reminded me of a chocolate chip cookie but pillowy and delicious!

Good place for a hang, but a little hard to make too much conversation.

David is a jazz enthusiast, and spends a lot of time going to bars and shows around greater Los Angeles. He wanted to see his friend Adam Ledbetter, who plays piano at the bar on Monday nights, and we tagged along. We'd been to Cafe Stella once, many years ago, but this was our first time inside Bar Stella. The space was nice, an attractive lounge with comfortable seating and a relaxed European vibe. We did have to wait a few minutes for seats to open up on a Monday, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were a little less chill on a weekend night. Bar service was fast and friendly, and we had a few rounds of cocktails. I don't remember everything we drank, but I liked the C. Arthur, made with Artist Blend Scotch, lemon, honey, cold press ginger, and Angostura bitters. El Viento was good too, if slightly watery and sour, with Tequila Ocho Reposado, yuzu, grapefruit agave, and Thai spice bitters. The piano was lovely. Adam is an incredibly talented musician, and it was a pleasure listening to him play. I appreciated his music even when we were talking, and would love to go back to hear it again on another Monday night.

I did see some tables out on the sidewalk, but not sure if they all belong to them or Santos right next door. They have a good amount of wines that are domestic and international. Our server, Rob (I think that was his name), gave us a few samples to try before we landed on one. Their menu is not that extensive, so just be aware of that. We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me. Kind of disappointed in the mains, but the 2 apps were really good.
