Her talents are in customer service, attentiveness, and being very knowledgeable about their bikes. I initially felt the husband was a little grumpy, but I realized he is just a no nonsense type of person who is honest, hard working, and takes pride in what he does. They were both honest and sincere people. I didn't feel they were just trying to sell me something. Mrs White works the front (which makes sense) she's a people person, and Mr. White does the repairs and gives you honest feedback. They each have their talents and use them to perfection. I could have purchased my bike from another bike shop, but I felt it was essential to support our local bike shop especially during these times. I've used Starklite over the years for parts for my Chief and the customer service is completely gone. I ordered a bunch of parts including the Shorai 6v Lithium Battery and the shell, which they offer on the website. Tried it in the Chief and after 10 minutes of it working, the bike shuts down and the amp meter starts pegging with the ignition off. Quickly disconnected the battery and called Gary at Starklite. Explained the issue and he proceeds to tell me that he doesn't like these anymore and they won't work with a stock setup. Need this and that, bla bla bla to work. He tells me he needs to put something on the website saying this but it's still not there and it's still available in the shopping cart to order. "If you would have called me and told me what you're using it in I wouldn't have sold it to you" he says. Well, I did talk to him about the bike and the other parts and I also have an email thread about it with him. Anyway, since it's a $190.00 battery and shell I asked if I should just send back to him for a credit to order the lead acid battery. "No, I can't take it back because you already installed it" so let me get this straight, you're selling a battery that you just admitted to me just now doesn't work and you don't use them and now you won't stand behind the product. It's not about the $$ but the principle of it all. Is this what Starklite has become?? That's too bad. I'll spend my money somewhere else and make it a point to tell others to do the same.

When I have wanted to repair or do maintenance in the past, it would involve a 60+ minute round trip drive to Riverside or Redlands to drop off the bike, then repeat to pick it up. Discovering and visiting 951 Bikes was both promising and a blessing. My end of day visit to the shop was to get some cleats for some new shoes. The price was reasonable, not Amazon low, but I prefer to pay a few more to support a local shop. The store was stocked with a lot of accessories in front and parts behind the counter. I had to wait to get help, there were two guys working on bikes in the back and another helping customers with checkout. Everyone I met was friendly, and I left hopeful that I found a place to satisfy my local bike mechanic needs.
