Amazing fresh sushi. Staff was friendly and was able to accommodate a super last minute huge cooked catering order. Nice presentation and flavor was amazing. Best sushi

Their sushi takeout is consistently good, and the special rolls are beautifully made and topped generously. The prices for the sushi are a bit expensive, but the portions are sizeable as well. The staff are friendly and efficient, and takeout orders are always timely!

Very fresh sushi for a reasonable price and a great ambiance. Walk in only. I like Ebi sushi and this is despite the fact that it's a walk in only! Rolls were very fresh, and I particularly liked their options that included eel sauce. Ordered: Blue dragon: more of a unique roll. I got it to try because it looked different from standard sushi rolls, but I found that I didn't like how crunchy it was. I think the bean sprouts inside it contributed to this Miso salmon: it sounded delicious and it was. Fish was fresh and didn't have any sort of smell but was pretty clearly high quality Veggie gyoza: I am always charmed when restaurants have green dumpling wrappers for veggie options. I got these pan fried and liked them! Six per order Service was decently quick and attentive even on a Friday evening. I have no complaints! I'd come again

Had high expectations for this place but it was a little disappointing. We were a big group but still service was slow and had make attempts to get their attention multiple times for water and missing cutlery. The food was decent nothing too crazy. The boat presentation and everything was kind of sad to look at but I would say getting the salmon belly is worth it. The volcano is a little different from what I've usually seen, there weren't as many toppings, not giving explosion but it did form the shape. The place was packed so expect it to be a little louder and having to speak up. There is parking in the lot beside the restaurant that's paid and also a clean bathroom.

Celebratory lunch date. Was packed on a weekday because it was a public holiday and we waited a long time for the staff to clear a table for us. They were very busy. Service was slow that day. The food was great at usual. Melt in the mouth torched salmon belly and the tasty salmon ninniku. We also enjoyed the Smoky lemon hamachi and the scallop nigiri - both the truffle and the honey pecorino. Ordering off the nigiri menu is always a treat!

My birthday was on a Saturday this year and so my husband and I came here a little before the peak dinner rush. We wrote our names down and were told it would be a 30min wait, so I set a 20min timer and crossed the street to get a drink at the Independent in the meantime. Kid you not, as we got our drink at the bar we got the call that the table was ready. This was all within 10mins of setting my timer. It took a while for someone to attend to us while we were seated but as soon as I started looking around for a server quickly took notice and came right over came to take our order. She was nice. We order some of our usuals - tiger roll, boston roll, eel roll and squid roll,- and a few new items - Everything was so fresh and yummy. It was a good dining experience. They'll be moving across the street soon and I'm glad I got to experience the ambience of the restaurant post renovations and pre-relocating

i have been here multiple times, and it is my favorite sushi in the area. I love their nigiri, and we tried a soba dish this most recent time that was really yummy. We sat at the bar and it was fun to watch them make everything. Our server was helpful and attentive. Has a chill, late-night ambiance that is enjoyable and just right!

Solid sushi place, the quality of nigiri is good quality and overall a great value. I got the 20 piece combo with 14 piece nigiri. It came with miso soup that was absolutely delicious. I tried the tiger roll which has shrimp tempura and has a spicy crab mix on top that is torched. My favorite was the yellowtail nigiri that I normally don't get. Torched salmon belly was good but it would have been better if it was warm. Overall good service and good food. The asthetics are cute too! They have a parking lot next to the restaurant which you have to pay for.

Parking is paid to park, restaurant has a nice groovy vibe to it. Good for group/double date or even kids. However the wait is terrible long even when it's not during rush hour or crowded. The food is okay, not standout, just standard. Has a bar section with lot of drinks option for you to try

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any sushi joint in Boston. For someone who was born and raised in TX where we did not have good access to fresh seafood.. Boston was crazy good. Came here without a reservation for a small snack and drinks.. however ended up ordering more because it was THAT good. NOTHING smelled fishy. everything was super fresh. I believe the restaurant had a sign stating they are moving to a new location so hopefully its a bigger space because it was a little tight here. I did see they also do catering. Did not order it myself but saw someone take huge trays of beautifully made rolls.

My partner and I had a lovely dinner at Ebi Sushi! The ambiance here is great and it's conveniently located as well. The staff were also very accommodating and friendly. We started things off with the agedashi tofu, which honestly turned out to be my favorite thing we ordered. The broth and fried tofu skin truly is unbeatable. We then ordered two rolls (one spicy maki and another basic salmon roll) as well as some sashimi. It was a bit pricey but the portions felt pretty fair to me. The flavors and freshness of the fish were great and everything really complemented each other well. We ended our meal with a butter cake (and some vanilla ice cream) which was very tasty and the perfect sweet treat. I'd definitely love to come back or even order takeout from here again.

First time here, noticed they are moving to new location soon. Parking was a bit tough when we went but we parked on the side that was city parking during certain times in that particular lot and walked around the corner. We had a short wait and was seated and greeted quickly. Everything we ordered was tasty. So we chose a sushi combo, which means you get X number of pieces for your choice. For example, if you get a 12 pc combo, you'd choose 6 pieces of nigiri let's say, and 1 sushi roll (6-8pc dependent on the roll). The server had to explain it to us haha because we initially just chose all nigiri. We also grabbed the agedashi tofu (so umami and yummy!) big pieces of tofu too! Always have to get the fried chicken (their karage) it was good overall but a bit thin so it was on the dryer side for us, but tasty and a nice chew. The hokkaiyaki was superb! Scallop shell appetizer, nice flavor profile, lots of scallop bits in there with imitation crab meat and spicy mayo. etc. Miso soup had plenty of flavor, tofu, and seaweed! They didn't skimp on the miso flavor base. The fish was fresh, had clean chew and my favorite is usually always the tuna belly. I enjoyed our torched salmon roll as well, but it definitely is very filling. Great experience, will be back to check out new location!

The wait for the food was insane. The sushi was good but wouldn't say the rolls were mind blowing or worth the wait. Update: My friend and I both got an upset stomach right after eating here ;(

Everything here is really good, but I highly recommend the nigiri - while it's a little pricy (standard pricing comparative to other restaurants), it is well worth it Service is quite fast and we felt like we were taken care of. One time, the server took the soy sauce bottle away from one table without warning and gave it to us, and then proceeded to do the same to us. However, in this rare case, the food quality and taste overpowered the service issues. Inside is lively, and cozy. They also have outdoor patio seating in the summer, which is lovely as well. This is a restaurant I wouldn't mind coming to over and over again.

After a long day at HBS we went back over the river to dine at Bosso Ramen. Located across the…read morestreet from the Harvard Commons, Bosso is an izakaya-style restaurant featuring ramen. On a wet, rainy Boston evening we thought hot ramen would be just the thing. The menu is built around locally-sourced ingredients structured in three categories: sharable, sushi, and ramen. They also offer a slate of Japanese beers and Nihonshu. We started with hot Nihonshu but the only choice served warm is Gekkeikan. Now, Gekkeikan is a standard Nihonshu which is a good, if not great, rice wine. And while Gekkeikan started in Kyoto, anything served in the US with its label is actually brewed in California. We wanted the Nambu Bijin served warm but were told that was not an option. Nanbu Bijin is a great varietal from Iwate Prefecture which was our preference. It's odd that this is only offered chilled. We really urge the management to serve all of its Nihonshu warmed. For shareables we ordered the shishito, spicy salmon, and torotaku. The shishito were nicely roasted and served with a light ponzu. The quality of the peppers was eceptional and the serving was generous. The sushi is served as a hand held wrapped in nori and features tsukemono. The spicy salmon was an amply portioned but the torotaku was a bit lean in terms of quantity. Having said which, all three apps were tasty and of superior quality. Bosso offers a compelling number of Ramens that differentiate not on broth, which is customary, but on degree of spice and the choice of meats. The broth here is a superb tonkotsu that would pass muster in Sapporo. Bosso also offers just one size which, in the event, was a more than satisfactory serving. We both opted for the umami version which is generously portioned with scallions and kikurage. The boiled egg was done to perfection - that happy place between a hard and soft boiled yolk. The pok was tasty but was wanting in terms of quantity. Each bowl included two very thin slices. At the end of the day, a great ramen should have more pork - either chasu or kakuni - so we found this to be a disappointment. Our server is from Shizuoka and we enjoyed hearing of her journey from Japan to Cambridge. She was attentive without being obtrusive. The interior is dark and practical and somewhat reminiscent of some of the great hole in the wall ramen shops we frequented in Tokyo. Overall, despite some blemishes, Bosso was an enjoyable meal and we will definitely make our way back in the future. It is busy so we recommend making reservations.

However, the seating is uncomfortable, for sure for the large parties. There were 8 of us, and we were perched on the uncomfortable high chairs. Food is okay, nothing exciting. Gyoza was not bad, chicken karaage was I think made from the dark meat which I personally don't appreciate. Karami ramen was not bad, nicely spicy. Very good service, attentive, friendly and timely, which was a saving grace for this visit. Note also that the place was super loud when we got to our table at 8 pm, it was impossible to talk.

My wife (vegetarian) and I came on a Wednesday night and we were able to be seated 15min early ahead of our 615pm reservation. The service was amazing, our server Ivy was very knowledgeable about both the sake and food menus. We started with the edamame w curry salt (an interesting and fun spin), cabbage (my wife LOVED it), and the maiitake tempura. Alright, I love mushrooms y'all and this dish was fried perfectly and didn't leave a greasy aftertaste, but there was a lot of batter so it mostly tasted of batter and the mushroom itself was in the passenger seat. Also the yuzu aioli was fine but i would've preferred a traditional tempura dipping sauce. For our mains my wife got the seared avocado sushi (her favorite of the night), tomato zuke sushi (it came out and I legitimately thought it was akami tuna but it blew my mind that it was a cured tomato), and the veggie maki roll of the week (also delicious). Vegetarians you are seen here and there are many options! I got the shrimply the best maki - I mostly got it for the name and was expecting a big shrimp flavor but looking at a cross section of the roll, the shrimp itself was rather small and was a little let down Toro maki - treated myself to some fatty Toro but I feel like there was too much pickled veggie which helped cut the overall fattiness of the tuna but became the main flavor Otoro sushi - my favorite dish of the night by far! An expensive two bites but the flavor of the fatty tuna with a speck of wasabi and the flavorful sushi rice (no soy sauce) . Next time I come back I will probably just splurge on multiple of these or try the hand rolls Expensive but delicious sushi with excellent service, will definitely be coming back!

The sake collection is excellent, and reason enough to go. The sushi is still very good but the nigiri is garnished with toppings like umami cherry and mint or house preserved yuzu. This is done beautifully but it causes the fish to be deemphasized. Little details like uneven cutting of a maki roll didn't impact the taste but lessen the beauty and the art that is sushi. For non-sushi the cabbage and the five-spice chicken were both amazing. The tomato zuke, a house cured hothouse tomato nigiri was very cool but make sure to use a little soy sauce. Final judgment - the space, the service, and the sake are all great. The sushi is very good but not as good as I remember and of course it's more expensive than it used to be.
