Fresh, eclectic flavors (mango sauce w/ lemon wedge) & colorful presentation. Just one table which was perfect on this Sunday evening. Def more a take out restaurant. Guys were super friendly, service was fast.

It is takeout only. The sushi is fresh and tasted good, although a bit pricer compared to other sushi places nearby. We ordered black pearl maki, black dragon maki, snow roll, and tako su. Our favorite was black dragon maki. Snow roll was fresh but a bit shapeless. It was hard to pick it up using chopsticks without breaking it. My only complaint is that they put a table and a chair to block the front door so that no one can reach the front door. I guess I was supposed to wait on the side way until someone from inside to open the door for me..... anyway, it was so confusing that I in fact went in the Indian restaurant next door.... I understand that they probably don't want anyone to get into their restaurant maybe due to COVID. However, cannot they find an alternative way instead of blocking their front door?!

WOW I am so impressed with this little sushi joint!! Ordered takeout- a sushi sashimi combo for $65 and a snow roll for $18. Amazing value for the amount of high quality food you get. All the fish was super fresh, well cut. The rice was well made. The rolls, particularly the snow roll, were all well made with delicious combinations. The nigiri was reallllly tasty, with different glazes and sauces for each kind of fish. Also came with miso soup. Will definitely return! This could have easily fed 3 people.

Sushi and the covid precautions taken were both exceptional, though the wait can be a bit long. My partner and I ordered various sushi rolls, and the staff were extremely accommodating with my requests (they made a shrimp tempura avocado roll for us despite it not being on the menu!). The fish was all so fresh and the toro left me wanting moreee. They are currently takeout only and when busy, can take a while to finish an order, so call well ahead of time. My order took 1 hour. Staff were all wearing masks, disinfecting pens between use. Will definitely be back!

Want to get a light dinner before rock climbing. Only found this restaurant nearby, so I decided to have a try. Had sashimi dinner. It was mediocre - the fish tasted fresh, but the combination was weird. There's sriracha sauce on octopus, and pickled radish on white tuna. I appreciate the effort of chef in making some variety on sashimi but they were kinda strange... In the end they serve complimentary fruits, which is a nice gesture.

Looking for a good sushi spot, my friend and I somehow ended up at this sushi spot in Belmont. Yeah, the place is small. However, the flavors are out of this world. We started with the Yellowtail Jalapeño--an app with yellowtail, jalapeño without seeds on top, cover in a lime and soy sauce mix--and while simple, it was beautifully executed. After the app, we got five rolls. Each maki had such attention to detail and were super yummy. Special shoutout to the Unagi and Spicy Scallop rolls! Waitstaff was very attentive, and refilled the water a plentiful amount of times. For a while, I was losing hope in the Boston area sushi game, but I think Gen Sushi has restored my faith. tldr: super fresh fish, small restaurant, good waitstaff. a bit expensive, but totally worth it.

Coming down to 3 stars. Waited 40 min in person after arriving on time 45 min post order. Sushi was solid, but rainbow roll was real fishy.

Nigiri individual pieces are much better than the rolls. I would only order those from here.

I've seen salmon, tuna, toro, uni, squid, crab, and more. You can ask the staff to cut up the fish blocks for you, I'm not sure if this is for a small cost. They can add your fish to a bed of rice for an extra cost. They also have seafood that you cook, those items are in separate fridges with a label stating that the product is recommended for cooking. These items are frozen. You can also find different sauces, sushi rolling mats, seaweed, anything you can think of to help you prepare sushi. If you don't want to make your own sushi, you can order sushi from their menu and they will make it on the spot for you. Depending on the day or time you visit, there may be a little wait. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon one time and waited ~10-15 minutes for two sushi rolls because there was only one person working on the sushi behind the counter and one person taking care of the register. Please be patient with them as they seem like a family-owned small business. You can also call ahead to order party trays. The prices seem fair, I've never been disappointed with the quality of fish. Very neat environment, there are signs for everything. The staff is also super friendly!

They have a few Japanese freezer and pantry items but the big draw is super fresh seafood! They sell made to order sushi and sashimi for incredibly affordable prices, and even have "party packs" to order for your next event! The most fun for me is to order their chirashi--you look around at any fish you want, bring all the packs to the front, and they'll cut the fish for you and arrange it into a beautiful chirashi bowl on rice for only $1 more than the cost of the fish! Even better, they have lots of unique fish for adventurous eaters, like sweet shrimp, clam, octopus, Uni, black cod, etc. I absolutely love getting to choose my cuts of fish, and the quality is incredible! Would note there is no seating, so this is definitely a to go spot, but definitely worth a try!

This prompted us to look for alternatives...Fins in Waltham was open and taking orders and allowed us to get the Sushi on time. We tried it. We ordered the large boat raw and maki raw. $160 worth of sushi. The order was prepared quickly for pick up. There is a bunch of off street parking. The restaurant has about 8 various sized tables in side and a bar that seats probably another 6 or 7. The place looks clean and modern. The lone worker was pleasant and friendly. The order was correct and packaged well. Compared to Super Fusion in Watertown: 1. We usually order the party platter from Super Fusion as well, but it does cost like $20-$30 more at Super Fusion. However, they do give you more sushi...but no miso soup included anymore. 2. The family agrees that Super Fusion tastes better. I also noticed the sashimi was larger from Super Fusion. 3. One family member spat out a small piece of bone in their sushi from Fin's. This never happened at the other place, and we've gone to them for many years. 4. Fin's is more generous with providing enough wasabi and soy sauce when we asked for extra. 5. Fin's looks a lot more modern and fancy...they are in fact a newer establishment in the area. The free off street parking matters as well, as you only get street meters for Super Fusion. While we're glad to give a new place a try, and the sushi is not bad, we think Super Fusion is better. My kid and her friends frequently go to Fin's due to convenience and thats perfectly fine. I hope they stay around for a long time, as having options and competition is good. I'm thankful they were open and taking orders on Christmas Day, and I was served with a smile. Thank you!
