    Enmi Ramen

This is not your typical ramen place, i think they put an emphasis on the broth and going simple on the toppings. I had the enmi and the broth was rlly good. Topping was mid. The service was quick and nice. They get full really quick and the ambience is good enough for a normal conversation.

I ordered lunch from here via a catering service. Due to this, I can't comment on the ambiance so this review is solely based off the one meal I had here, which was the torched miso salmon. I whole dish was good but extremely rich and heavy. While it tasted great, I just felt gross after because how rich it was. Not the best lunch option. There are other options on the menu that I'd be open to exploring.

Very busy place, be sure to make a reservation! When we arrived on a Saturday evening, I overheard that the wait for 4 was 1.5 hours. The vibe is very dark (maybe a little too much?) There is bar seating and tables of 4. The yuzu soda was really good and one of us got one of the cocktails which was also great. Our party of 4 got a wide range of their ramens which were all great. The noodle shapes complimented the broths. The vegan one was also very good. My only comment would be that the portion sizes seem to be on the smaller side. Overall, lovely dinner and would recommend.

Significantly overpriced for what you get. The ramen itself isn't terrible, but it's not great either--and at this price point, there are better bowls not far away. I ordered the Karami ramen, which did have a solid spice profile. The ground beef was actually a nice addition, but the chashu was tough and chewy, which was disappointing. They offer a lunch add-on special with a few options. I tried the salad, which was fine but pretty lacking in vegetables, and the shrimp tempura with tartar sauce, which--while awkward to eat--was actually quite tasty. There's also a chashu rice add-on, which I found underwhelming. Also only have diet coke and not regular coke. Overall, decent in a pinch, but the value just isn't there compared to other nearby ramen spots.

Walked in on a Friday night around 7:00pm without a reservation. We had to wait a little bit got seated around 7:20pm. The service was quick and friendly. Food was good for the last minute choice. Wasn't life changing but would recommend if you're looking for a nice hot bowl of ramen in the cold weather.

Excellent ramen in a cozy setting right in Harvard square. We stopped in for lunch on a rainy/snowy Sunday and had the lunch special and the umami ramen. You can order right on your phone from the table and the food comes out very quickly. Would recommend!

WOW! I was blown away by my experience here! From ambiance to the service and food quality, it truly gets 5 stars. Whether a casual lunch with a friend or a first-date, the atmosphere is unique and chic. The mood lighting was cool but not in a overly romantic way. The location is somewhat tucked away but not hidden in any means, and in a nice area where a post-meal stroll should be on the agenda. The servers were beyond helpful, friendly, and attentive! When we asked about portion sizes and spice levels they gave accurate, honest responses. One of them even overheard our conversation about movies and threw in a recommendation on the way out. My table ended up all trying the sakura saku to drink. It was a bit smaller than I thought, which is totally fine considering it was $9, but nonetheless it was great. Well-balanced and refreshing. Definitely try if you're a grapefruit lover. The food was DELISH! I started with the torotaku. Great portion size for the price. Perfect temperature. The tuna was very fresh and paired beautifully with the pickled radish, I seriously wish I got 2! After eating this my expectations for the ramen went up, and they were met. The broth was perfectly spicy, just enough for a nose drip but not enough to overpower the other flavors. The meat was so tender. The noodles were cooked well and the right amount of filling. The cilantro wasn't too overpowering. My friends and I were almost licking our bowls, such a well-balanced dish! Without a doubt, I will be coming back!

Very mid ramen. For the price, I would rather make my own instant Korean ramen and add some veggies to it. It probably would have the same amount of sodium, bc my mouth was so dry after eating this. I didn't even drink most of the broth, like I typically do.

    Vegan Ramen

Was busy around dinner time but we had a reservation so we were seated after only a few minutes. The place is in the smaller side and feels cozy. Love that the menu has vegan and vegetarian labels. We got the vegan ramen, the shiokombu kyuri (cucumber salad), and the umekyu (plum cucumber inari). I really enjoyed the inari, big fan of ume. I didn't like the pickled onions and nuts in the ramen so much but my dining partner loved it. The sake cocktails were good!

Very crowded on a Friday night! Bustling dark dim intimate ambiance. Got the umami ramen and smoked salmon potesala. Wasn't a big fan of the mashed potato in the smoked salmon potesala since it overwhelmed the fish but I really enjoyed the ramen! It had very light but rich broth and great noodles and add ins. Would come back and try more things on the menu!

I love ramen and wanted to give Boston ramen one more try. While I never loved Bosso Ramen, at one point I did think it was the best ramen in Boston. After trying it again, my conclusion is I won't be giving it another try. The broth, while salty, lacked depth. It does have more of a cool vibe than your typical ramen shop but not worth it for the food.

Cozy Harvard Square Izakaya -- Perfect for Unwinding! This new Japanese izakaya in Harvard Square has quickly become one of my favorite spots to relax after work or class. The décor is warm and inviting, and sitting by the window with a gentle breeze, sipping on a drink, and enjoying a steaming bowl of ramen feels absolutely perfect. The drinks are just as impressive as the food -- I tried two sake-based cocktails, Sakura Saku and Sonic Boom, and both were fantastic in their own way. Light, fragrant, and perfectly balanced, they're great whether you want something floral or something with a little kick. Umami Ramen The "umami" salted ramen here is pure comfort in a bowl. The broth is rich, deeply savory, and full of flavor, and the noodles are wonderfully springy with just the right chew. They sometimes change the menu based on seasonal ingredients, which makes each visit feel fresh and exciting. Slurping up the noodles and sipping the broth -- pure bliss! Chicken Karaage I honestly don't think I've ever had fried chicken this juicy. Each bite bursts with flavor, the outside perfectly crispy while the inside stays incredibly tender. Absolutely a must-order for everyone at the table. Black Sesame Sweet Potato Ice Cream For dessert, I went with their signature black sesame sweet potato ice cream. It has that nostalgic caramelized sweet potato flavor, combined with the nutty richness of black sesame. It's creamy, not overly sweet, and somehow makes you feel like you've made a "healthy" choice -- a fun, satisfying way to end the meal. Between the cozy atmosphere, amazing drinks, and perfectly executed Japanese comfort food, this izakaya is the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.

If you're in the mood for something hearty, the entrée options deliver. They also offer wine, beer, and other spirits, so you really get to decide how you want to take flight. We ordered a variety: orange chicken with rice, a combo platter filled with everything from edamame to octopus, and I enjoyed shrimp tempura maki with bibimbap (they kindly removed the beef for me), plus miso soup and a Sprite. Whether you're here for high-end sushi, creative small plates, or comforting kitchen dishes, everything is executed at a very high level. We ordered a massive spread, and almost every single dish was a hit. The Raw Bar & Sushi: * Oysters: These were 10/10. Incredibly fresh, perfectly halved, and meticulously cleaned--not a single piece of shell in sight. We loved them so much we had to go for a second round. * 8pc Omakase & 6pc Aburi Set: Both sets were fantastic. The Aburi (torched) set is a must-try for that smoky melt-in-your-mouth texture. * Uni Nigiri: Even my wife, who usually avoids raw fish, was won over by how creamy and fresh the Uni was. * Tuna Tataki: This was the only "just okay" dish for me. It had good flavor, but I think it would have been elevated with some shredded daikon and a colder temperature. Kitchen & Family Favorites: * Foie Gras Appetizer: Rich, decadent, and a perfect way to start the meal. * Sea Bass: My son absolutely loved this; he finished the entire portion with rice. * Snow Crab Roll: An excellent option for those who prefer cooked rolls. * Tonkotsu Ramen: We finished off the meal with a hot bowl of ramen, which was the perfect savory "topper" to a great dinner. The Experience: The service is efficient and the wait times for food were surprisingly short given how much we ordered. One of the biggest takeaways was the value. The pricing is very fair for this level of quality; back home in Nashville, a meal like this would have easily cost significantly more. The Verdict: While I would love to see a few more small, refreshing salad dishes on the menu to balance out the richness, I left extremely happy. This is a top-tier dining experience and a definite "must-visit" whenever I'm back in town!

It's $50 for the regular AYCE or $80 for the Premium AYCE. We opted for the former, and it was plenty great. We have done lots of AYCE sushi and I will say this is the BEST of them - I think it's because it's the same grade sushi as they would normally do Ala carte on other nights. The $50 menu had plenty of sashimi and regular nigiri (sushi with rice) options and some Thai too. We had mostly the sashimi Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Octopus, a few rolls, some edamame, gyoza, shumai. My favorites were the salmon, as the cuts were large, thick and amazing silky, and the gyoza, as it was perfectly crispy. The Pad Thai was bit way too sweet for my taste - a skip for me next time. The decor is very nice - reminded me of a dive Tokyo bar. Service was quick and very attentive. We will be back!

With what…read moreseems to be a recent price increase, now $50++ allows access to a good variety of sushi/sashimi, on top of apps, ramen, poke bowls, and cooked rice/noodle dishes. Whereas $80++ offers diners a set of amount of uni, plus unlimited amount of everything else, wagyu included. Sounds like a good deal, especially when one can eat a lot. Even as we are no longer Team Eat Till You Burst, we went for the premium, mainly for the nicer cuts such as toro and wagyu, and because uni!! Jumping in shortly after 5pm, we were promptly seated, marked a bunch of stuff on paper, and soon after submission, we got food brought to our table. It was a decent meal overall, so why 3 stars? Let's recap. Menu variety is fantastic, though of course we didn't get "one of everything", coz that's simply impossible. While the premium did cover a lot of grounds, it would have been nice if they also included anago (sea eel) which is currently only available on the a la cart menu, and maybe even offer couple lesser-known items such as monk fish liver app, sea grapes, off-the-beaten-path fish cuts, what have you. Would be happy even if we only get an allotment of those like we do with the uni. Now, service - great overall. Servers circulated around and were alert of customers' needs. Approached at appropriate times to take our order sheets, refill water, provide new order sheets, and ask if we wanted more food. So kudos on that. Their denotation of serving "regular portion" of cooked food had us hesitant in ordering, since we didn't want to be wasteful (or use our limited stomach space for dishes we can easily get elsewhere). But from other tables' orders as well as the one noodle dish that we ended up getting, it seems that the portion size was what I would like to see at AYCE places -- about 50-60% of regular Asian dish size, where 3-4 people can each have a couple bites "just to try". However, to think if that is what they call "regular portion", then it is definitely "Brookline pricing" on a la carte, which I would not recommend one to do such things on these items. Food is fantastic in general; we got a variety of stuff, and everything was really of top quality and taste. The meal would have been a "highly recommended" if they didn't serve the uni that we got. Out of the 12 pcs of uni sushi, all of them were... while not "foul" to a point where one cannot safely consume, they were definitely more sub-par than "ok but not great". Colors aside (which I understand there can be a range depending on origins and such), the uni was a "splat" of yellow stuff on rice, without distinct shape of the flesh. On top of the fishy smell (I'm talking about slightly ammonia-ish), the presentation and taste-texture upon them hitting our tongues... really left the ENTIRE room to be desired. In retrospect, we should have sent them back even if they weren't going to replace them. But instead, we stupidly forced ourselves to shove them all down in cowardly silence, then ordered another round of wagyu just to make us feel a little better about it. Yes, we weren't smart as customers. But if the restaurant is going to charge $100++ per person (after tax and tip), someone from the kitchen should have known better than pushing this thing out for customers to deal with. In their defense, yes, the uni itself was still "edible" in a sense that it didn't make us sick, but I'd maintain that better judgment should have been made. Once the shell was cracked open and you see this pale-gray yellow mush, it should have been decided that it is better repurposed, than be served straight to your customers as your star/featured product. As seen in other diners' experiences, it could just have been a one-off mishap, so I'm not knocking them entirely. But I do hope the restaurant would improve on their QC accordingly. It was such a disappointing low point in an otherwise wonderful meal.

Also, the spicy chili oil isn't overly hot, but does have a satisfying kick to it. Even folks with low spice tolerance can enjoy it. The prices have slowly risen throughout the years (now, it's about $17 a bowl) but the quality & portion sizes have remained consistently good. The Porter Square location is their original location and definitely tastes way better than the Seaport location. Yume Ga Arukara, keep doing what you are doing!

I've been a few times to this spot and while the taste is good, it isn't nearly as good as it once was. The space itself is much nicer and larger which is nice. The workers seem less enthusiastic though and they don't customizations anymore - when asking for "the works" on my dish, the person taking my order did not understand the request. It seems a little disappointing that they don't give off as much of a small business anymore. Prices are much higher than they once were and the quality has actually decreased. While I still love Yume as a previous annual pass holder, I do miss what it used to be.
