Wedge Salad

First time here. It did not disappoint. Food was delicious, Our server Matt was great. Place is situated on church street. You can park nearby. Has a great vibe. Definitely recommend. Prices were reasonable

This is a great place! We came here for an anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint. The cheese was good. The steak was amazing. The potatoes were creamy and flavorful. And we topped everything off with their creme brûlée and mudslide pie - both of which were very tasty. Our server made the evening special through her kindness and wonderful attention while providing service. The ambiance was pleasant and reminded me of an old Kansas City style steakhouse - this is absolutely a compliment. Highly recommend!

We choose EB Strong's for a client dinner while visiting Burlington for meetings. We had a group of 13, and were seated with a reservation in the private room, and everything was perfect. We had several servers checking in on us and we didn't need a thing, ever! Across the group we tried lots of dishes including the filet, surf and turf, crab cake, calamari, shrimp cocktail, salads, and chocolate martinis for dessert. Everyone enjoyed their food, and we had a great time.

Maple Old Fashioned

The food was great. Tops, almost NYC steakhouse, yet the charm of Burlington Vermont instead. Cooked correctly, to a perfect medium rare, which is at the limits to how much a steak should be cooked. Sides are often family style, order a couple things to share with everyone. The cocktail menu was good, and the maple Old Fashioned is one of the better of the genre I've had, of the various places that do that these days. The maple crème brûlée was arguably the biggest disappointment of an otherwise solid spread, with very little maple flavor coming through. Tasted mostly like a standard vanilla custard. Maple can be tricky to cook or bake with, but it seemed absent in this case. Oh, the bread and butter served to start was amazing though. The service was good. Burlington in this newly post pandemic area is still struggling to get staff, but the wait staff were courteous and prompt. Actually, I felt like our server was the perfect amount of interested. Not overdone, but attentive as needed. The ambiance is what I'd call "modern steakhouse". Linen tablecloths, but not overdone red velour coverings like of yesteryear, where you'd expect to see business dealings. This was more clean and modern, but also not the overly loud industrial loft motif that some places have. Can't afford to eat here all the time, but based on this experience will definitely plan to return for other special occasions at least.

Very nice steakhouse. Service was amazing. Loved my seared scallops and risotto. My drink was delicious. I believe it was called sunshine. Highly recommend. Our server was sweet, helpful, attentive and just excellent at her job!!

Shrimp cocktail was decent

This meal was not good. The escargot were rubbery and lukewarm. They were served in a bed of onions and just didn't taste great. The shrimp cocktail was fine but it would be difficult to screw up shrimp cocktail. The preparation for the rack of lamb was just weird. The lamb itself was very bland (didn't taste the mustard panko crust) and the polenta and greens were just a sour, strange combo. The chimichurri did not belong. The best things we ate were the shrimp cocktail and the complimentary bread. Service was okay. Place was loud. We will not return.

The service was super friendly, and she completely spoiled my husband. He had ordered a Manhattan with a 'big cube' but was totally fine with the ice, but she INSISTED on swapping it out. We also appreciated how knowledgeable she was not only about the menu, but also to 'talk steak' and Kansas City with my husband. The wine recommendation was spot. on. and I appreciated the back story to it!! The food, gosh, where to begin? The calamari was light and not greasy at all, the tomato tapenade was the perfect dip for it, so yummy. My 'oscar filet' absolutely stole the show....not only did the chef deftly cook it to a medium without overdoing it, the MOUND of crab and lobster on top was a perfect compliment. The freshly mashed potatoes were perfectly nuanced with garlic and the hollandaise perfectly complimented the broccolini without overwhelming it. My husband ordered the creamed spinach, so good. the spinach was wilted but not slimy..it supported the perfect touch of cream sauce well. We barely had room for dessert, but that did not stop us from splitting the mud pie. the mix of caramel and fudge was a delight and the ice cream 'filled in all the cracks' nicely! Thank you for providing three hours of escape and celebration!

Stopped in for dinner last night with a party of four. We made a reservation in advance and were seated immediately, even after arriving a few minutes early. We got a table in a little nook where we were the only table which was nice and private. Initially, it took the server a little while to greet us. We ordered two sodas, an amaretto sour and a beer for drinks. Our water glasses were kept full throughout the meal. Calamari was amazing. A little differently prepared than I am used to but it was excellent. I would totally get it again. I also had a wedge salad which was good but they are never extraordinary, I just really like them. There was complimentary bread which was fresh, right out of the oven. The salted butter and the oil/vinegar mixture was good. I ordered the 8 oz filet while the other three in my party got the prime rib which was on special. I ordered well done and I feel like it was cooked medium. My husband ordered medium and it appeared to be rare. Everyone still enjoyed their meals but it seemed that all of the steaks were a temperature or two off. We ordered a side of asaparagus and a side of brussel sprouts. I loveeee brussel sprouts and were looking forward to them. They were rather hard and didn't seem cooked properly. Honestly, I debated sending then back but my husband kept munching on them stating they "weren't the worst". I just couldn't eat them. As much as I wanted to order dessert, I was overly full and exhausted! If I were to go back I would overly specify the temperature I wanted my steak in hopes it would come out properly.

But after setting in, it feels pretty good, almost like home. We were there with a large group, seating was a little tight. Creative cocktails, extensive wine list. Lots of small plates, apps - all were amazing. Our server was on point - explained everything very well, and when we were unsure about trying something, we were encouraged. All local farm to table ingredients. Local wines and spirits. Local cheeses, including some pretty rare choices. Entree I had was the pork tenderloin. Portion was huge. Pork fresh, well seasoned and moist. Excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant, to date, it's best restaurant I've eaten at in Burlington. Parking in a nearby garage.

It combines a log cabin feeling with the aesthetic of a modern feeling restaurant. On top of that, every bite that I ate, from the dinner rolls to my pasta entree, was terrific. You won't find food much better than this. That being said, I do think that the menu is a bit overpriced. Everything was very very expensive. If you do go, I highly recommend getting the shareable pastrami. I had a bite of my friend's and it nearly knocked me out of my chair with flavor. So good!

I was lured here because someone said it was better than Bistro de Margo; it was not. Service was good from the server and poor from the bus boys and kitchen. The kitchen failed in many ways. Could I give it fractional scorse it would be 2.6. The server was good and had a phenomenal memory to take all our orders with no notes. Wow! The three appetizers were delivered out of order. One came. Fast forward 20 minutes; the remaining two came out. The appetizer dishes were never cleared. They hung around until we decided not to have desert! The appetizers were underwhelming; how can you screw up a Caesar salad? The main courses disappointed in many ways. The dishes were serverd luke warm. Mussels were dehydrated on top of the heap and obvioulsy sat under a heat map. The steaks were cooked well but accompaniments were cold, cool, or barely warm; take your pick none were appetizing. The plates were stone cold which didn't help. Finally after dinner was served and eaten and plates cleared for deserts we did not order the remaining plates and debis were cleared from the table. Not good. Not professional. Not worth the money. The wines were good. The beer was good. Dinner came to $275 plus another $60 tip. It wasn't worth it. There is clealry issues in the kitchen and staff. They were simply not into it. I would not come back. If you want a French dinner look elsewhere or just don't try that in Burlington.

Poco was absolutely as good as the ratings suggest. We had 4 items... Grilled Carrots, Elote fritters, Dan Dan Noodles and wok fried shrimp. The carrots were multi-colored, gorgeous, and surrounded by delicious flavors and accompaniments including a yogurt-based sauce and a spicy chili oil. The Elote fritters were spicy and crispy, served moments after coming out of the fryer and topped with a chipotle blueberry sauce. The Dan Dan noodles were amazing. Typically Dan Dan noodles are made with ground pork but Poco's was made with mushrooms. The noodles were tender and a little thicker than I'm used to but felt freshly made. The flavor overall was savory and umami filled with a gentler heat than other Dan Dan's I've had. This was tied for the very best Dan Dan I've ever had and I try Dan Dan anytime it's on the menu at places I eat at. The wok fried shrimp were not a favorite of any of the 3 of us that had them but they were still quite interesting with a bracingly acidic sauce and crispy rice that had a texture that left me wondering how they did it. We dined on a Tuesday in April and were in a line waiting for them to open. The entire dining room was essentially seated immediately when they opened. Despite this, dishes and drinks started arriving very soon after we ordered and the pacing was great throughout the meal. If you go on a weekend or even a busy summer weekday you should be ready for a substantial line and they don't take reservations. Desert was ice-cream made in house and both the cinnamon and strawberry ice creams were beyond decadent and rich. The serving of 2 little golf ball sized scoops might look skimpy but this is powerful rich stuff and the serving is really all you probably want of such intense high fat ice cream.

Tonight the waiter or manager Matt or "long haired dude" in other post was insanely rude to me this evening. We waited an hour to get a table, expressed discomfort with the table and wanted to move. He told us no multiple times due to a waitlist- how is that possible when the website shows "first come first serve" concept. Anyways we wanted to switch to the bar, told us the bar stools were reserved (how can you reserve a bar stool if you don't accept reservations), then noticed a three top leave as I asked asked to move there as well, he rudely said he had another three top going there and there is no where he could put us, then finally more guest left and I was able to get us a seat at the bar. I was excited to finally change seats and he rudely put his arm out and said "we have to clean it first!!" There are ways you can go about things but he was insanely rude and unprofessional. Then I saw other guest who sat at that uncomfortable table also want to move (that's how shit of a table it was) and then to top it all off this person sat other two tops at three top tables that we were denied because we were a two top. For $70 for a cheeseburger, potato's, and soda I expect kind service. If I can stretch my arms out and touch the backs of guest at the bar and guest to my other side.... The tables are too close together.
