As far as Eat'n Park locations go, this one is fairly run of the mill, but conveniently located off of the turnpike in New Stanton. During this visit, our waitress was friendly and accommodating for our family as we were admittedly slow to order with a toddler in tow. Their appetizers came out piping hot, although they are a little pricey for the portion size. Our entrees were all solid and really can't complain about their consistency compared to all of the locations I've visited over the years. read more

There was a waitress that came to the table next to us, but she told us that she wasn't our waitress, which was very confusing. We waited way too long so we got up and left. Went there to purchase a whole pie, as I walked in and saw the display, I couldn't believe it. All the pies were over cooked and the meringue on the lemon meringue looked like a beanie. I told the hostess I wanted 2 pumpkin pies, hoping they would be better as there were none out in the display. She had them in the bag & as I took them out to look at them, i couldn't believe my eyes, they were burnt to a crisp. I told her I would never give thought to buying something that looked so bad & walked. All the pies looked aweful. I wouldn't even consider eating there after that, but my question is...WHERE IS CORPORATE ???WHERE ARE THE OVERSEERS ??? THIS FRANCHISE IS REPRESENTING E&P. Went here a few weeks ago for dinner around 6pm. Have had lunch here numerous times and enjoy the salad bar. Dinner was a different store. There were numerous staff working however the three tending tot he salad bar were lost for the evening. The salad bar was covered with dropped food and many of the items weren't filled. The soup bowls weren't restocked nor were the soup spoons or crackers. On diner asked the manager, and middle aged man for crackers and he made a face the. Said he'd get them. He was standing in the dining room leaning on the counter watching the football game more than telling the staff to clean up and get their work done. Our server was great but everything else was terrible. I'd have complained to the manager but after seeing his reaction when asked to get crackers I knew it wasn't worth my time. Seems the GM needs to pay a visit during dinner hours since the great staff during the day need to me time these evenings staff. Very disappointed read more

The food was terrible. Small portions. Very overpriced. The salad bar was unstocked and the lettuce was turning brown. No plates or spoons for the soup. The food at the Restaurant didn't sit well with us and actually made us feel sick afterwards. Don't waste your money on this restaurant. Even the smiley cookie was stale. Eat n Park isn't what it used to be. The restaurant served food that was disappointing in quality, lacking freshness and flavor. Our meals did not meet expected standards. I ordered an apple chicken salad today which was advertised as using mixed greens, cranberries, almonds, feta cheese, and grilled chicken. It sounded perfect. What I received was a dish of iceburg lettuce, which I can't eat due to diverticulitis, no almonds, no cranberries, and dried chicken. It was perhaps the worst salad I've ever ordered. This is an older restaurant but it's been well maintained and looks pretty good for its age. The outside, however, does look a little downtrodden. The hostess who greeted us was efficient without showing any signs of personality. She did her job well but in a coldly detached manner. Another lady who was also acting as the hostess when we left also exhibited any warmth or enthusiasm for the job. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient but did not check back for beverage refills. The food was good. My wife had the rosemary chicken with the soup and salad bar. She said the chicken was delicious and that the salad bar had a good selection of salad fixings. I had the classic double burger with hash browns and chili. The burger was excellent and the hash browns were good. The chili had a nice flavor but was real heavy on beans and light on any other ingredients. Overall, the food would rate a 4-star but service only warrants a low 3-star. Fantastic breakfast today. Everything was prepared perfectly, and the coffee was freshly brewed. The space is older but very nice. It is a distinctive shape with part of the dining room being a few feet higher than the entrance and salad bar. Convenient to I70 even with the crazy roundabouts that exist now! read more

This has been our go-to Eat'n Park location on our latest visits to PA because it's the closest to where we stay. I would say it's a very solid location overall. When I come to Eat'n Park, half the reason I enjoy it so much is for the nostalgia factor of reminding me of going there while I was growing up in western PA..and this location serves those memories well. The coffee here is excellent. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I always get a cup here. It's got a naturally sweeter taste to it than other coffees. Very tasty. They also sell some you can take home with you and brew for yourself. Our latest visit here was a breakfast visit. I couldn't decide on a menu item so I went for the Breakfast Buffet. It has a little bit of everything breakfast related, and it was all tasted really good..especially for a buffet. The bacon was crisp and not too greasy. The french toast tasted very fresh. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy and seasoned nicely. Pretty much everything I sampled was good. You can't beat the prices here either. Feeding four people a whole lot of food here costs less than what it would cost to feed two people at other brunch spots. Pretty cool. read more

This restaurant sources local produce and you can tell. Their signature soup is filled with fresh vegetables and the salad bar is one the best I've ever experienced, with everything fresh and a house dressing that is not pre packaged. The lunches were equally good. As far as mid-prices American fare goes this is better than most. Think Big Boy but better. I didn't have a slice of pie but I imagine it would've been quite good. This review is for the New Stanton location - I recently attempted to update the address on Yelp. I know most yelpers, like myself, aren't into chain restaurants. However, I find myself at Eat N Park every once in awhile, especially because it is close to my parents and my in-laws. This location always seems to be well staffed and the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. The salad bar / breakfast bar is filled and looks appealing. During my last visit, the hubs and I were out running errands and decided to stop for a quick lunch. We both got the salad bar and iced tea. I believe the salad bar is $8.49. My husband had 2 salads, three cups of soup, at least six mini muffins, and some fruit. So, I'd say he got his money's worth. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, not allowing empty plates to pile up on the table and continuous bringing us refills, extra napkins, etc. There were two older gentleman seated in our area, both alone, and she obviously knew them as regular patrons. She took the time to stop and talk to both of them on several occasions, but not to the point that she was neglecting us or any other tables. The one downside to this location is well, it's in New Stanton. Anyone who is familiar with this area knows that it is heavily congested with traffic and construction. Any place in this area is difficult to get in and out of, including McDonald's, Sheetz, Sunoco, Wendy's, etc. It is also very busy with out-of-towners due to the proximity to Route 70 and the turnpike. read more

We stopped here during a road trip to get a quick bite to eat before continuing on to Lancaster. We arrived a little after 9pm and my only complaint was the hostess was apparently ending her shift and left while we were standing there waiting to be seated. No one came to take her place and my husband had to go into the restraint to get someone to seat us. Other than that small issue we were very pleased with the service and quality of food.the server was extremely pleasant and very attentive, coming to our table numerous times to check on us. We both ordered the special chicken bruschetta dish with the salad bar. The salad bar was completely stocked even at the late hour and everything was clean and fresh. The chicken bruschetta was delicious! The chicken had a great texture and flavor and was cooked perfect. I ordered gator tots as my side and they were very crispy and well seasoned. Gosh, I have been here so many times throughout my life, it's not even funny. When I was growing up, it was a convenient spot for straightforward American fare complete with a soup & salad bar, and some pretty tasty milkshakes. These days, it serves wonderfully as a place of nostalgia when I am in the area. On my most recent visit, I decided to take advantage of their takeout menu. I was particularly interested in their soups which they sell by the quart for a mere $6.99. I have always liked the chicken noodle soup because they use thick egg noodles, and they don't skimp on the chicken either. It is a hearty delight. Similarly, their chili is fairly decent. It looks simple enough, but it is pretty addictive owing largely to the generous use of spicy ground beef. Another thing I took advantage of was the bakery. Eat 'N Park is pretty famous for their smiley cookies, so I availed myself a full box worth. Unfortunately, these are something I remember tasting better than they actually are. These cookies were thin and crunchy, so I found them to be less desirable both from the standpoint of texture and taste. I will pass on these in the future, but I doubt their popularity will diminish at all. Some might be excited to know that these cookies can be ordered online and shipped nationally. Service is always prompt with a friendly face even though they act like they don't want to be there, they fake a smile regardless. Reliably passable. The food here is absolutely not anything to write home about. It is - OK. That's it. I've never had bad food here, and i've never had good food here. But the food here is always OK and that's good enough for me on the times I'm in the mood for Eat'n'Park which are admittedly few. Surprised the place is still open, but it's a good sit-down diner in New Stanton. Also, if you have a large group this place will always come thru. I'm talking 20+ is still fine. Don't bother stopping if you have other plans. On a Monday afternoon, I asked to place a to-go order. The cashier said she could take my order, but couldn't answer ANY questions about menu items. I asked her who could and she told me I'd need to have a seat and place it with a waitress. I asked a waitress where to sit and she coldly said "over there." My wife and i are in town for a wedding. She is originally from the area so we decided to go somewhere that we can't go to in Kentucky. We have enjoyed other Eat'n Park's. Not this one. When i first walked in there was an advertisement stating show us your key and save. When i did this at checkout the person acted like i slapped him in the face. I ordered a hamburger that came with one side, i chose fries, and a salad bar for $3.75 more. On the bill they charged me $2.75 for the salad bar and $1.99 for the fries. I mentioned this and they said my salad was the side and the fries were extra. According to them this saved me money. In my figuring it cost me more. Must be the funny Pennsylvania math. My wife ordered zucchini lasagna. There was unmelted cheese in it. My food was tasteless. They were all about how they make smiles. I left frowning. read more

The only thing that was good about this place was the Oreo pie we took back to our hotel room. The salad bar was ok the "cheese sauce" on my loaded French fries was orange oil . The turkey club was a lot of turkey but it was just shaved lunch meat and no lettuce and burnt bacon. The only person in my family to like their food was my daughter liked her over easy burger. After 20 more minutes they finally bring our order out. Soups and entrees. When we took the food to the car and checked it the entrees were cold. When taking the food back in the and ask to speak with the manager. The cashier anf hostess get rather rude at this point, one flat out going "why?" We tell the hostess the entrees are cold. At this point she tries to argue with us claiming "I got the soup and I know it's hot". They finally go get the manager who gives us the excuse that they were busy. Dined here for Sunday Brunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had pretty much sworn off this place after having multiple bad experiences. The menu was updated from what I remembered. It was substantially cleaner than the last time I visited. We had a large party (13), but were seated promptly, allowed multiple checks (with no confusion) and the tip was not auto-generated. Service was better than some higher priced places. Service was very good, children accommodated, coffee cups filled, and we were not rushed. The food was good (remembering this is a $12.00/meal place). Portions were good. I will give this a five star if I visit again and they can sustain the improvement. read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. Went to the Wheeling, W VA Eat-n Park about 11 PM on Dec 20. Sat at a table surrounded by a restaurant full of dirty tables. Waitress was quick to take our drink order and made fresh coffee for my father but there is where the good experience ended. Service became slow. I ordered soup and asked after 15 minutes where it was. Server said she forgot it. She then came back to the table and said they threw the soup out because we close in an hour. Food arrived lukewarm. My mother waited 8 minutes for cocktail sauce even though she stated that she would like it when she ordered. We were never offered drink refills. Had to wait for a to go box. I went to find another server to get it. The bathrooms were nasty. No toilet paper in any stall. Sanitary napkin disposal over flowing with dirty diapers. It's a shame that this experience tarnishes the good experiences that we had at other locations. read more
