2 Large Eggs with Sausage

This is a classic cozy diner right in midtown with great service & dependable food. First of all, this place has been here for 40yrs (easily). This place has been here since my high school days down the block in '95. So I love this place because it takes me back. We sat at the counter waitress was attentive took our order quickly. Food was great. Note: I got the corn beef hash and eggs. I know it looks unappetizing, but it was good. Made how I like it- eggs well done. It was great to eat at place that has with standard time.

Met friends for lunch at this eatery near the Central Park Zoo. They have a pretty extensive menu, egg dishes, breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and Italian entrees. The staff were friendly and nice. We weren't rushed and stayed over 3 hours to catch up.

After a morning walk through Central Park and around the Upper East Side, we were looking for a place to stop in and get a snack. The name intrigued us. We loved the small business feel and hospitality. The staff was kind and the fruit was fresh!

Googled a diner near us and found this place. It was nuts inside. But they sat us within 5 minutes. We love small mom and pop places. Which was surprising because of the location. The servers and the owner were all so welcoming and nice! It was super super busy but we can describe it as organized chaos We got our drinks right away and ordered our food within 10 minutes. It was midday so most of us decided for Lunch. My boyfriend had the hungry man breakfast, my mom ordered a grilled chicken sandwich my daughter had a cheeseburger and I had a Philly cheesesteak. The portions were pretty big, we allll had leftovers. The Philly cheesesteak was so warm and delicious literally melts in your mouth! The chicken was so soft and perfectly cooked, the bread was a lot, but still was really good. The eggs came out just as he asked and the waffle was delicious too! My daughter ate the burger and fries and that too was cooked just as she asked well done. This spot was awesome, again wayyy better than expected and definitely gave that hole in the wall feeling!

Quiche!!! Comes with rice and salad

Service excellent! Food always good ! But I cannot believe that they charge $4.50 for each fresh brewed iced tea . No refill And they don't tell you it's no refill That definitely upset me It was like four sips of iced tea with all the ice in the glass ...

Getting a reservation here is very hard. One just popped up in my Resy app for lunch though, so I…read morewent for it. It was my first time here although, it has been around for ages. The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

From the moment we sat down, the service set the tone for the entire experience. Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

We asked if we were able to just sit at a table for drinks, she said yes. The wine selection was minimal and not good, but we ordered 2 glasses anyway. We asked the server if we could order bread for our son. He said "I'll bring bread after you order food." We told him we were only there for drinks but were happy to pay for a bread order. He begrudgingly said okay. After being there 10 minutes, we decided we wanted an appetizer so went for the tuna crudo. Not did it taste awful, it didn't even look appealing. It also oddly came out with a massive piece of grilled bread?! Bizarre combo. Do yourself a favor and just sit in Bryant Park, don't waste your money here.

My friend and I were visiting from LA and our hotel the Archer recommended this place for dinner…read more It's right across from Bryant Park. We loved it so much we went back and second time for dinner. The first night we sat at the bar (it was crowded and we didn't have reservations) and made some friends who recommended Ivan's (the bartender) espresso martinis. Although we were drinking some white wine we decided after finishing those we would try them. Ivan makes them special with a little Bailey's! They were incredible! Like a dessert but not too sweet. Ivan shared his recommendations with us and we had some good conversation. We ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and Brussels salad as well. All very tasty. A couple of nights later we went back and had the rigatoni with red sauce which was phenomenal and our favorite and the Toscana salad, also great. The pastas taste homemade and everything is so fresh, including the bread. We of course ordered espresso martinis again and Ivan thought it might be us again and came by to say hi. He makes the restaurant feel like family! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in my next visit. It is now my favorite restaurant in New York! Thank you so much Ivan!

I sat at the bar and ordered a simple pasta with red sauce, some meatballs, and broccolini. The pasta was perfectly al dente and absorbed the red sauce nicely. I appreciate that I was not offered grated cheese or fresh ground pepper. It was served as the chef intended, showing off the tomatoes, accented only by the herbs and spices. It was not too oily either, if anything it could have had a touch more, but again this let the tomatoes come through. The pork and beef. meatballs are dense and served in a thickened tomato sauce. The bread that comes with it is nice for finishing that gorgeous sauce which does have a sprinkling of parm. The broccolini had a a touch of garlic and served with a lemon. You can judge a restaurant by its guests. The other solo diners beside me were locals, there for the food. Next time I'll try the vodka sauce with burrata.
