Nestled in the heart of New York City, The Ribbon is a delightful dining destination that perfectly combines ambiance, delicious food, and attentive service. Upon entering, you're immediately impressed by the spacious bar area, featuring long communal tables ideal for large groups. It's the perfect spot for gatherings with friends or family, making it a fantastic choice for celebrations. The menu boasts a wonderful variety of upscale bar food that is perfect for sharing. Each dish is not only creatively presented but also bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the hanger steak, which was cooked to perfection and was a highlight of the evening. Whether you're indulging in small bites or sharing larger platters, the offerings are designed to elevate the typical bar food experience. The staff at The Ribbon contributed significantly to our enjoyable experience. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and knowledge of the menu ensured that we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. They were eager to make recommendations, and their enthusiasm for the food and drinks was infectious. Speaking of drinks, I highly recommend trying "The Dotty." This cocktail was a refreshing blend of flavors that complemented our meal beautifully. The drink menu offers a variety of choices, ensuring there's something for every palate. Moving to the back, the dining room provides a lovely setting that is perfect for smaller gatherings, whether it's a relaxed dinner with friends or a more intimate date night. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience. Overall, The Ribbon delivers an outstanding dining experience with delicious food, excellent drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere. It's a great place for dinner and drinks, and I look forward to returning soon to create more memorable moments there.

Came here for a work dinner and loved everything about this place! The restaurant is very spacious, with lots of dinning space in the back and even offers coat check, which was a nice touch, especially on a cold night. The service was spot on from start to finish, and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the skirt steak for my entrée and it was absolutely delicious, the sauce it came in was wow and full of flavor. For dessert, we shared the sundae and the monkey bread... wow, both were so good and the perfect way to end the meal. To drink, I had the Dotty, which was yummy and made with vodka which is not normally my go to, but still it was great. This is a great spot for a date night or for dining with a group. I would definitely return!

Riley got us seated in a comfortable booth seating for our party, and the interiors were really festive. Halloween is coming! Tried their Ribbon Lager, which was really crip and light and easy to drink. For food, we got a few things including Mac & Cheese and Butter Pasta for the kids from their kids menu. I tried their Parmesan Cheese Ravioli ($26) which was really good. Phillipe, our server suggested Fried Chicken ($32) for the table which for perfect for three adults to share. Their Truffle Fries ($14) didn't really have a truffle kick. The Tuna Crack Rice Flight ($26) was impressive as well. Noise levels were on the higher end, they had a private party going on. Amazing outdoor seating too. Overall - a very nice experience. Will be one of our favorite places to go to in the area!

I came for restaurant week, hoping to sample a lot of the menu for an affordable option. The overall meal was very hit and miss for me. The hits: the arancini was great. But what's not the love about deep fried rice balls. The filling was great, the texture was great, the sauce was great. The crepe cake was also good. Tasted like a crepe cake should. Creamy, relatively light and with a great sauce. The miss: My entree was disappointing. The lamb kabobs were fine, not mind blowing. It was served with pearl couscous, which was not the best choice for it. And the tzatziki was not my favorite. It tasted a little too sweet. The dish missed points for coming together well. The service was fine. Our waiter was fine. But some of the other staff were really great. Overall ambiance is: very typical uptown eatery. Dark lights, vintage decor. There are not a ton of options for children so keep that in mind if you're coming here with little ones. There is a Mac and cheese and it's not bad. I don't know that I would come here again if I had other options.

I came for a celebration event sponsored by the Alzheimer's Walk. And Yes! The fried chicken is good! Wagyu beef negamaki was yummy! Fried oyster over pickled jalapeños deviled egg had a bit too much mayo but was very fun to eat. I enjoyed the broccoli rabe although it was a little tough. I was not a fan of edamame dumplings though. The service was exceptional-polite, efficient even with just refilling your ice water and clearing your table of mess. The ambience was very friendly and inviting. I would brings friend family, friends, young or old here. There is something for everyone.

Stopped by this location that can fit large parties the day before Thanksgiving. I wasnt impressed with the fried chicken sandwich i got but they did make an amazing cocktail. The location is easy to get to as its right off the train station and good for large groups.

Great spot especially for Happy Hour (only at the bar and the high tables.) Had 8 draft options that I took full advantage. They also had a creative Pineapple Moscow Mule that packed a punch. Was able to try a few things off the Happy Hour menu. All were solid. Surprised they had oysters (West and East) on the menu - they shucked beautifully and had all the condiment fixings. Lastly the restaurant is massive. Will definitely be back if im in the area.

Was checking out a parade on this street and as we got hungry we decided to go to The Ribbon for lunch. I got the chicken sandwich with a beer and hubby got the burger with beer. Both were very tasty and satisfying for a last minute lunch . We had a nice timee.

We traveled all the way from Miami to celebrate our wedding at The Ribbon, and it couldn't have been more perfect! From the owners and managers to our amazing event planner Heather -- and the incredible servers and bartenders -- every single person made the entire process easy, seamless, and truly enjoyable. The decorations were stunning, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service and hospitality were unmatched. Everyone on the team went above and beyond to make all our wishes come true, and it showed in every detail of the night. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was and how wonderful the staff made them feel. We're endlessly grateful to The Ribbon for creating such a warm, elegant, and unforgettable celebration.

What a lovely experience! We had a group of 7 with two kids. We had reservations for a Saturday morning. We arrived early (before they were open) and Ken the host was so very nice and accommodating! He let us sit at a community table in the front and we played trivia games while we waited for them to open. Then he sat us before our reservation time and got us waters. All very nice! Pros: Everyone loved their meals The crispy thin fires! Areas for growth: The wait staff could have been a bit more attentive The menu differed from what came out. For example I got fries with my breakfast sandwich when I didn't know I would and someone else got a salad they didn't know they'd get. I might have gotten that meal instead had I known it came with salad. The cauliflower should be crispier We'll be back next time I'm in town and will try their dinner and cocktails! Thanks Ken!

We had tickets for a show in the neighborhood and found this restaurant on OpenTable. We were not disappointed. We started with a spicy tuna roll. It was delicious. Very fresh. We shared a Barada over heirloom tomatoes. Also very good. I would've liked some salt or pepper, but they were not on the table. I then had the rotisserie chicken for dinner. Our server, whom was tremendous suggested either the fried chicken or rotisserie chicken. I selected the one that he has most often. We finished off the night with churros which were also very good. Our server did a good job of getting us in and out in time for a show. The restaurant is a cool vibe. You should definitely check it out.

Went for restaurant week dinner, had nice selection for each course. It was a fine dinner.

Beef burger, steak & eggs

Excellent service from our server Damaris and the host made brunch feel special. Steak & eggs were hearty and cooked just right, the beef burger was juicy with crispy fries, and cocktails (Summer Vibes, Red Note, Amaro Sour) were refreshing &fun. We finished with a scoop of ice cream- Simple, sweet, and the perfect ending. Great spot for good food, drinks & standout service.

We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

The broccoli was really good for some reason to me. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese which was incredibly rich and tasted great. As a dessert, we had the chocolate pie which was dense, rich, and topped with a huge dollop of whipped topping. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, loud roaring 20s style with jazz playing. I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.
