They're never open on Sundays which is actually an inconvenience to a lot of people. The food here is always amazing! I've had just about everything on the menu here. But if you try to call in a to-go order, don't expect them to answer the phone for you. They just let the phone keep on ringing. This place is understaffed, takes really long to get table service, and even acknowledged at the front door to get seated. The waiters look annoyed by their jobs. If you're willing to get past the sub-par service, I'd recommend it because the food is great! read more

Service bad, price no worth the money but on the top of that I order chicken fried rice and after a lady sitting on the table next to us return her dish because her rice was burn, I got the same burn rice, I have to send it back to. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Gainesville. I love their Tom Kha and Massaman. The only reason I've given it four stars instead of five is that the portion sizes have gotten smaller recently. Theo pad Thai is delicious as well! Also try their deep fried tofu appetizer. The service at this restaurant was terrible, terrible, terrible. We were seated rudely by a younger asian guy, then, after a long while, we were given menues by a nervous younger white guy, who took our drink our order. The rude asian guy came much later to take our order, gruffly. His manner was nearly aggressive, as if he were angry at having to work at the place and angrier that customers showed up. Our food was brought by a younger asian lady, who simply acted like she was doing us a favor to interact with us at all. When we asked for some chili powder, she was visibly put off, then went to retrieve it. Checking out was no joy either, as the rude asian guy just stood there silently as I paid the tab. No greeting, no thanks at any point, not a single smile, not a single gesture to show an intention of decent service. I'm not asking for world class service, but you don't want to be treated as a bother from the get go. The food itself was quite good, but the service was so absolutely hostile, and it completely ruined the experience. This seemed to be authentic, and it seems as though the place was started by people who care deeply about the food they make, but they made the mistake of not monitoring the treatment of customers out in the dining area. What a shame. I love Thai food so much, and I've never been in a Thai restaurant with service of this nature. read more

We ordered the coconut soup hot pot and calamari (I didn't eat but the calamari lovers enjoyed), basil with chicken and I got yellow curry with chicken. The chicken usually ends up a little over done and is better with shrimp but otherwise a delicious meal! The Thai tea is DELICIOUS! read more

We ate here recently and were mildly disappointed with the food. Everything else shined - the ambience, the service, the location. I'm not a novice to Thai food and I've had Pad Thai many times. This was the blandest Thai food I've ever eaten! It had no seasoning in it whatsoever and I had to ask for sauce of any kind just to make it through the meal. Finally! We for my Darling Hubby's (DH) BD we made sure to go on Weds, when they're OPEN for LUNCH (only Monday through Thursday!). I just love their Seafood Sautee - but not enough seafood was in mine, as I asked to hold the scallops (I'm allergic), so no more of the Calamari no less shrimp was added. This is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville! Their spicy cat fish is soooo good! I think that's only on the dinner menu. Probably the best I've ever had. We tried their basil noodle one time with Thai spiciness... Um... It was Thai spicy for real! So watch out for that! All of their dishes are amazingly delicious. Stuffy atmosphere, and I don't mean uppity... I mean it was hot and stuffy in the eating area. 5. No offer for to go drinks, wouldn't take money at table. This is a pretty fancy looking place inside, but the servers look like they came from the lake and they pretty much served you like you'd just gotten a big gulp and chips. We wont be back. My husband, son and I dine here almost every week prior to catching a movie. Have been doing so for about 4 years now! My son loves the Pad See Ew and varies which meat he has with it. My husband likes spicy food and has had many dishes - but his faves are Spicy Basil and the crispy duck. I am a huge fan of anything with the Massaman curry - most recently the tofu. I also love the glass noodles with tofu. Service is not always efficient or super friendly however it is great food at a super price and we can be in and out in 45 minutes to catch our movie! OK, as a devout afficianado of Thai food ... this place had a lot to live up to ... and it certainly did. Satay chicken starter with peanut sauce and cucumber salad ... yum. Tom Kha soup (coconut milk base, much better than the ubiquitous Tom Yum soup) excellent flavor and packed with shrimp and mushrooms. Red Curry with shrimp as my main dish ... seasoned to "Hot" ... wonderful and sinus clearing ... definately endorphine releasing ... warm feeling of contentment after the spice "click". The only complaint I have with this place is that I can't ever seem to order anything different. Not that they won't let me, you see, but once I had the Siam seafood the first time, I fell head over heels in love. My wife is the same way with the Pad Thai. My boyfriend and I went to Eat At Thai for dinner tonight and everything was very flavorful and delicious! The decor in this place is very cute and everything was also really clean! I ordered the Roasted Duck Curry and he ordered the Mango Shrimp dish (both under Chef Specialty) and both were great! I ordered "mild" for for level of spicyness of my curry but it was still pretty spicy so be warned! The shrimp my boyfriend ordered was some of the best succulent shrimp I've ever tasted. However, a star was lost because for drinks, I got Thai Tea (which was also very yummy) and my boyfriend got Coke and we were never offered refill. We thought maybe refills cost extra? That's lame. After being away from Gainesville for months at a time, Eat at Thai is the first place I stop. All of the food is fantastic, I would suggest trying the cheese rolls, any curry, and a Thai iced tea.
