After ONE trip, the $800 suitcase suffers a HUGE dent, and a friend I was traveling with bought keys on Amazon that will open AWAY bags that are locked with dual combination locks. Brought the bag to the AWAY store in SF and they said this sizable dent is cosmetic and they won't repair it. Funny, not what they say when trying to sell you their overpriced tin cans. I'll make sure to pop my head in every time I walk by and tell the customers how they lie about repairing and covering their overpriced trinkets. Run away from AWAY! Two days later, Away corporate contacted me to remedy the situation. I commend them, but hope others aren't treated as dismissively as I was at their snooty SF flagship store.

I took a broken suitcase to the store but first I completed the on-line RMA process. The form was pretty simple, the store took it and charged me $10 for shipping. That was it. Really! In few days I got an e-mail notification that the item has been shipped back to me. To my home address that is, not to the store. Amazing! Who knew. I'm a devoted customer now. I had previously purchased a Samsonite luggage for which I happily used for nearly ten years. Over the last two years of use, two of the wheels showed wear with one wheel splitting and other loosing the outer layer. I called the Samsonite SF store and they advised me to bring bringing the suitcase in. When talking with the original salesperson (sorry I forgot her name), she indicated that this damage may qualify under the luggage's 10 year warranty if I could produce the original receipt for purchase. I returned home and actually found the receipt showing purchase 15 days short of 10 years for the day I brought it in to SF Centre. The luggage was shipped and I was happy to hear via email that it qualified under the warranty, the wheels could not be replaced and Samsonite would send me a new Samsonite Freeform Spinner 28 White/Grey, model 78257 for no charge. I did not receive any further information for 2-3 weeks. With an upcoming trip, I contacted the SF store again and spoke with Barbara, Assistant Manager at Store #277 who listened and performed immediate triage and follow up while I was still on the phone, regarding the disposition of a previously approved replacement under warranty for my luggage. I had received the message that the decision was made to replace my original Spinner suitcase under the 10 year warranty, However, Barbara was able to see from my forwarded email that there was no link for selection of a replacement. She followed up with calling the warranty department and her managers to assist. In short time, I received a new and amended RMA showing a link to Check Status to review my replacement options. With special thanks and praise for Barbara. After a few more communications from her to the Warranty Department on my behalf, I received the Freeform Spinner 28, that I had selected and it happily served its purpose with my trip. This store has dedicated staff who know how to follow through for great customer service. Unfortunately the San Francisco Centre is going through changes and the Samsonite Store #277 was notified to vacate. Not sure if this has occurred but I do hope the company will relocate Barbara and staff to the next best San Francisco location in order to help us with our luggage needs. I'll definitely return when I have future plans requiring a new addition to my travel luggage needs.

Exceptional service once again from the RIMOWA San Francisco location!…read more I originally came in planning to purchase just one carry-on, but after the remarkable service we received from Morgan, we ended up purchasing two additional Hybrid Check-In L suitcases. The next day, I had a change of heart about one of the colors and called the store to ask about exchanging it. Morgan wasn't working that day, but Ian was incredibly helpful. He checked availability and let me know they only had one remaining in the color I wanted--the display piece--and I happily asked him to hold it for me. When I returned on Saturday with the white suitcase, Morgan greeted me right away and had everything prepared. The exchange was completely smooth, stress-free, and handled with such professionalism. No hassle, no complications--just exceptional service. I am truly grateful to Morgan, Ian, and the store manager, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, for making me feel so comfortable throughout the entire experience. Morgan, who has been with RIMOWA for 24 years, is truly remarkable. We walked into the store simply intending to buy luggage, but we walked away feeling like we had gained a friend. Thank you, Morgan, Ian, and the entire RIMOWA San Francisco team for making our first RIMOWA experience so memorable. We are already looking forward to visiting again, even just to see what's new.

Exceptional Repair Service at Rimowa San Francisco…read more I recently brought in a 10-year-old suitcase with a broken retractable handle, unsure what to expect since my exact model had been discontinued and an identical replacement part was no longer available. That's when I met Adam, a service technician at the San Francisco boutique, who completely turned my hesitation into confidence. Adam took the time to walk me through my options, explaining that the replacement handle would come from a newer model and wouldn't be a perfect visual match to the original. He was honest and thorough, and reassured me the repair would still leave my case looking great. When I picked up my suitcase, I understood exactly what he meant. The precision of the repair was immediately obvious, every detail handled with real craftsmanship. It's clear Rimowa invests in technicians who take genuine pride in their work.

The staff is friendly and the variety of bags and accessories is always exciting to browse through. I ended up getting the Black Medium Cargo Crossbody. It can fit a water bottle, my sunglass case, phone, wallet, keys, and more! It's a really good size and I was impressed at how much can fit in it. I also like that it was made our of recycled material. It was around $56, so the price point isn't that bad esp cause I know the quality is good. My only small complaint is that there aren't enough mirrors in the store--it can be tricky to see how a bag looks when you're wearing it. A few more mirrors would make the shopping experience even better. Still, a great store and I'll definitely be back!

When I first arrived, the SA I had worked with before was helping another customer, so Daisy stepped in to assist me. I'm so glad she did! She was warm, patient, and never made me feel rushed. She took the time to show me every bag I wanted to see and answered all of my questions without ever making me feel pressured to make a decision. I was torn between the blue and green Mini Anjou, and Daisy gave me honest advice based on the colors I wear most. She suggested the green because she felt it would go better with my neutral wardrobe, and she was absolutely right. I love my green Mini Anjou and couldn't be happier with my choice. What really impressed me was that she took notes on the colors and styles I'm interested in so she can let me know when new bags arrive.
